Your editing is so engaging!
Can we have a 1 month / 3 month / 6 month update on this please? Looks like a REALLY cool product.
Great video! You did a great job of selling it to me - if only I had the money.
Hi ....
Super nice video of Qnap TS-453A G8. I have myself acquired one and have read that you can bust it up to 2.08 GHz, but do not know how to do it. So thought you might do.
But first of all, do you know how to get to the Bios?
Regards.

Can we get a follow up on this please! 😀 How's it after 6 months 👍
Great informative entertaining video Can we please have a follow up video? How did it all turn out? Thanks
you are such a nerd.. getting so happy over something so stupid.. i love it, youre just like me. haha. subbing!
Chris, how satisfied are you with the read/write performance? I have a 4bay Synology, but heard Qnap is slightly better performer. I might switch to Qnap. Qnap started roiling ZFS on their higher end NAS-es. Its just a matter of time when they will deploy ZFS on the SOHO NAS devices.
How does it loud on idle? Can you hear the fan, or hdds only?
Great :D
just so you know.... it's 453 not 453.... you said 435 twice in the beginning of the video. lol. but thanks for the video. It's much more interesting, and MUCH more watchable than other videos out there.
I really liked my QNAP until one of the hard drives stopped working 2.5 months ago.
At that point, I contacted the QNAP support and sent them the logs so that they can investigate the issue. The initial response was really quick, within a day the guy told me that there was a problem with the Back Plane and that it has to be replaced. They sent me the label I was supposed to use and it was all good.
Unfortunately, for 2.5 months now I have no idea where my NAS is, the QNAP support keeps sending automatic emails saying that they have not heard from me (I am waiting for them to fix my server) so that they are going to close the ticket and no official target date for the fix has been given. On top of that, it looks like QNAP is using two different systems for support and they don't seem to be talking to each other.
All in all, good product while it works, but I would not rely on them for my data.
Why not stick with ssd? Less likely to get messed up going down the road
background sounds like a super mario bros jumping sfx
How did the road trip to Berkeley go with the QNAP TS-453A? Was there an update video to this?
It made the haul!
I ended up moving it into the studio, and going with an alt solution in the RV. I do need to do a follow up!

Thanks for the reply. It was recommended by a work friend of mine, who likes to build his own, I now have it. Now I need to pull my thumb from somewhere and get it going. Originally it was for backing up all my media with, so that it would be accessible via my amp and blu-ray player, but considering what it can do, I'll be doing a lot of exploring. This may well help in my migration from Windows to Linux. Cheers again. Great video. Tony.
Chris Fisher I am also looking to use a qnap in my RV. can you explain why you went another route and what the issues with the qnap in the RV were?
Description say Intel Braswell :)
I want this guys gear budget and cash, not videography skills.
