Thanks for the detailed breakdown on the prices and braving the cold for some nice shots of wintery Japan. 👍

I can’t wait to visit Tohoku! Our plans were cancelled in 2020. Great to watch.

@@franklinthewoman yes, my hubby wanted to travel on the Resort Shirakami train from Akita- Aomori. But Yamagata and Matsushima were on the list. I also wanted to visit Geibeki gorge and Ichinoseki. We had a two week trip planned but I think we’ll take a longer holiday when all is okay to travel.

That sounds so awesome! A longer trip would be great 😏

@@franklinthewoman my only issue is that being an Australian teacher our long holidays coincide with Japan’s Winter. Not sure if I can snow travel for too many weeks. Our cancelled trip was in April but I usually visit Japan December/January.

Yeah tbh snow travel was a bit exhausting, lovely as it was! Have you been to Kyushu?

I just stumbled upon your videos recently as I am currently doing research for my first journey to Japan. Your videos are very helpful! I was wondering if you had any experience with the Tohoku highway bus Ticket? It's much cheaper than the Jr east pass, but I am not sure if it is also equally easy to get around with.
    Hello from Germany! 🙌

The JR Rail pass is such a great deal if one wants to visit many far-flung places during their time in Japan. It removes the burden and expense of travel within Japan using either a 7-day or 14-day pass.
I must admit, I'd be concerned checking into the "Hotel Live Max". That name evokes some sort of cam-girl/guy studio for rent, with the hotel raking their cut off the top as you use their high-end equipment to stream.

I didn’t know until now that the JR rail passes are available in 1 - 3 week increments. Makes me regret it even more 😂 True. “Live Max” does sound sketchy haha. It made me think of karaoke because one of the machine types is called Live Dam
