@@BossKiller96 nice, I have 2 rings of recitation so the followup with flare is almost instant but for some reason most of the times it doesn't trigger the explosion
What I'd recommend is using maelstrom with a high spellhold to cast those spells instantly. Do enhance maelstrom so it's casting stamina usage is half, with this you can cast two in quick succession and most bosses melt with it. Edit: Yes High Spellhold can hold the OP spells too

So Hagol can detonate Flare? Doesnt seem to work with drakes

I am so temped just to a mage (like a started) and just my pawn for a run just because of the chalange. ....Wifu pillow serfing time.
