G in SF6 would be amazing, top 5, without any changes. To really make World Tour Mode pop, they should add a G and Q storyline that lasts multiple seasons.
@@ReidRo1 same here! Imagine Cammy or Chun Li start asking if you've seen a trenchcoat wearing, masked "person", who has been spotted at multiple crime scenes around the world. Then you find a female version in Nayshall, with a similar fighting style as G, but slightly different. After defeating her, you get more clues, taking you deeper into the story, leading up to a cliffhanger and reveal of the next season DLC characters. Or of you ask Marisa how she turns gold, and she reveals that she has accepted G's "One World" proposal, and starts praising him as the President of the Universe. I could go on and on, but you get the gist. Plenty of ideas can come from adding G to World Tour!

I really wanted G in 6, in fact because of all this plot related to him I thought he was gonna be the main villain somehow. Still hoping he gets in, perhaps season 3 onwards.
I always assumed Q was the tragic fate that awaited G, which would explain why all Q's moves seem like he was trying to do G's moves, but his mind and body were out of sync or deteriorated, so they come out all wrong.
I like how so much about G is designed to make you question whether or not he’s Q, his moves, his height, even his hair color being the same as Q’s based on the tiny little glimpses we get in Third Strike. I really like the idea that Q is G since I think it’s cooler if Q is this mystery man who can be seemingly everywhere at once, but the open mystery makes it so it can go either way where Q may just be a title for G’s followers or something like that. If Q does end up being G and makes it into SF6, I could see them doing something similar to Bison where you help him regain his power, allowing him to act on the apocalyptic event Rose was talking about in SFV, since I feel like the devs fully intend to follow through on G’s mystery after Shadaloo’s had it’s time in the spotlight in 6. They decided to expand on Rose’s suspicions on G in the final season pass rather than pivot to another plot point ahead of 6’s release, so it’d be really odd imo if they just dropped G’s story entirely, but at the same time Street Fighter isn’t exactly known for its Shakespearian writing
still handles it more better than mk rebooting because they screwed up as early as 9 though do think later on their should for 6 be a story addition that adds the characters from alpha,4/5 outside a few characters & 1 as capcom's fighters do have good stories it's just more for 6 they shouldn't have focused on 2's characters/world tour have an actual cliffhanger instead of just the villain basically escaping.

That game is the ancient past of the street fighter universe and ends showing its characters reborn during the events of street fighter.
To be honest, I think this storyline is much more interesting as something we have to piece together from details and vagueness. While it would be cool for this to become a more front-and-center conflict, once it’s out it’s out. There isn’t really any more mystery. I think it’s much more interesting to keep giving us weird hints mostly or completely detached from the main plot, but in engaging and prominent ways like having Q, G, hell, even twelve or necalli return as playable characters without much explanation, if any (necalli would prob break this rule bc of SFV making him the main focus but maybe it’s salvageable, who knows)
I do appreciate how it's been bits and pieces for 2 decades. It'd be cool if they wrote the whole thing and trickled it from the start, though I don't think that's at all what we're seeing.
I wonder how much of Q's backstory they actually had in mind all the way back in SF3. Like, I doubt they knew exactly who or what was going to be controlling him. But if they did have at least an idea for a sinister President in mind, then I wonder if their naming scheme was a reference to the Men in Black movies where all the government agents are codenamed with single letters?
Q is the reason why I devoted myself to 3rd Strike and G made me stay with SFV way longer than I thought I would. Both incredible characters, hope to see either of them in SF6 :))
Talking about animations from Q with his humanity seeping out. The win animation where he turns around and widens his stance then looks at the opponent seems a lot more fluid and human like to me. Almost like he’s about to cry out, then gets zapped back to mind control looking at the opponent. Another one is during his Special III I think where he grabs his face for a second. This could be because that Special is basically a self destruct and the human part of him is freaking out about doing it. I think it’s very interesting that the “human” emotions can almost be telegraphed by how fluid the movement is.

The theory I subscribe to is that between the events of sf5 and 3 G is captured by the illuminati and turned into Q. Stripped of most of his free will and powers because the illuminati feared him (much like rose did )

I have a plot twist theory here: G could be Robert Sullivan (Luke father) we all know that he die in the mall explosion but how about gill save his life before the explosion, brain wash him and Robert is doing mysterious things
It should be well known by now that sf3 was not supposed to be a sf game, the team are working on a brand new fighting game unnamed, it's capcom called them up and transform this game to the sf3.1 then two following, and that's why the game feels so much different, and there are many characters almost clones of old sf type, if it was a sf game developed they would need to add Remy or Dudley or Necro, just use guile balrog and Dhalsim. Anyway, Q is definitely an "original" character, and his backstrory started no where near streetfighter story, so everything is new, G is a direct succession to Q, which could mean a new type of force, but it could just be an experiment.
To me, Q being "manipulated from behind the scenes" in the sf3 animations notes was not about the fact he was manipulated. More that that's the feeling we must get from him. The fcte we see him everywhere with him having a teleport move is just to confuse us. His conflicting emotions, Etc etc. Just a mysterious character. Whats actually our best hint is that the recent director chose to show us those concept art without cutting the words. Decided to make a female concept art. Maybe for a move or story mode. Maybe decided to keep the mystery for one more game after sf6 was confirmed. But still show us that concept art. As well as taking the opportunity of a season 5 of dlc to add oro and rose. 1 that can see the future and potentially talk to her past self from before the first Q appeared. The other so powerful him saying that G is a danger makes it that much more impressive. Also side note. If thatbtheory is true. Why would he be named G, and his puppets Q? G could stand for gold, god, idk. But Q ? It may just be a detail that can really be retroactively changed. But I wonder if Q now actually stand for something.
I saw somewhere that G could mean "Gold" while Q is "Quicksilver," which follows Gold directly on the periodic table. I seriously doubt that's what they were going for as they named Q some 20 years ago and I don't think they'd thought it through this closely, but there it is FWIW.

@@EventHubs Actually, what they seemed to be going for was a Japanese pun. The letters G and Q combined, GQ, sounds exactly the same as the word for Earth, Chikyu (地球).
I still think the explanation for Necalli’s flair out is meta. I think Necalli’s character was Yoshinori Ono’s idea but when he was removed from street fighter due to the poor launch, they scrapped it.
I do find the mystery fun, but in the end, for me, I just really want G back for 6 basically as he was in 5. Charisma and all. And if he gets the ‘Q’ costume, even better

It is very interesting and I would love to know, but I think it's also one of those things that would lose all the magic if it was confirmed or explained. Some things are best left to debate and hinted at and referenced to.
Q either being sad or stomping on the loser’s head felt like one man suffering from internal conflict or being mind controlled. Now it moreso feels like each Q is a different person each time, and while 1 Q may hate what they did another Q might love it, or not care at all. While I want G/Q to come back, watch Capcom give us O or C and just make the mystery even more complicated
Q is one of the most intriguing characters in the STreet Fighter universe, because they have not explained anything about him. We have to draw our own ideas.
G also appears in an SF6 title that you can equip called “Here Comes the Reign” where it pictures a bunch of Street Fighter bad guys like M Bison and Seth (and G).
Bringing Q back would be great. But i feel like they would just ruin his signature as a mysterious menacing cyborg-like being. I would rather them keeping him the way he is than ruining it for us after 25 years of mysterious rizz around Q.
Capcom has peculiar priorities when it comes to story. This is why I didn't understand why people were talking like they were "so sure" Rose, G and Q were getting a follow up in the next game. That said, at any point they can return to this. Several game(and years) from now or as a add on for World Tour.
man SF6 is really in a viable content drought. We need a new character BADLY right now. It's insanely pathetic how shooters like fort nite, overwatch, cod, and Xdefiant are being LOADED with content and SF and other fighters are just like "Hey, play ranked mode, and spend 40 hours of gameplay to just GET ONE COSTUME and we are going to release ONE CHARACTER every 4 months. You know, I think I’ve mentioned this in the past but the same way that Gil might be hinting that G is Q, is how I came to the conclusion that Lily is actually tied to Necalli. Because of the way that Ryu, Dhalsim, and Zangief refer to her spirit. I don’t remember the SF5 story, but I know that Ryu and Dhalsim had a pretty big role when it came to why Necalli was there. I hope he comes back with some kind of purpose. In a perfect world, SF6 would slowly release multiple story modes. One for the whole JP aspect, another surrounding Lily and Necalli, and another for Gil and the Illuminati coming back (cuz there’s hints of that happening in World Tour I think). Honestly they could do a countdown from the games, utilizing each villain for every new storyline. I know that those copy fighter robots aren’t there for nothing Seth. But ugh, I REALLY do not want Bison to come back. If it worked out this way tho, I couldn’t complain. Edit: Actually, maybe I wouldn’t mind Bison returning if Rose goes back to him and takes control, changing the character into something fresh.
Ok, crazy theory time Rashid n aki WT events point to shadaloo coming back, some members want ed to lead, others want JP to lead So eds WT events are prolly gonna be pretty important storywise, so if JP is only the first boss, and either gill or G (whos got the power of the roman goddess, Gaia) then Akuma could actually do something with that shin hair by fighting them since prolly no other chars strong enough, or somehow they gotta go avengers mode to beat this final boss, OR rose already reset the timeline which i cant prove, but basically, if theres no apocalypse then either rose succeeded or she failed and it just hasnt happened yet But this whole G thing is so big it makes me wonder if JP was added so that they could side step that whole storyline, which i hope isnt the case cuz dropping a whole multigame mystery would feel very unsatisfying ...yeah sorry, this was longer than i thought itd be

The Real Reason they Created Q, was an Homage to a Japanese Detective Series.. I forgot The Name. But his story was so vague and mysterious, that it actually worked. So when V came around.. I don't doubt that they wanted to put Q back in there, but they couldn't do/pull that same "Mysterious" Narrative a Second Time.. because they're just - Capcom. So they created an imitation of Q. G. New Mysterious Background, similar Moves, well.. sort of. Now everyone and their mothers is running around claiming that The 2 Characters are Connected in some way, will only incentivize Capcom to Lazily connect The 2.. to tie things off. In all honesty, Q is more Gouki (Akuma) than he is Vega (M. Bison). He searches for worthy Opponents to kill them. It's why his Main Rival is Gouki. No words are Exchanged .. just Straight to Battle. Just how they like it.
This. Knowing Capcom, Q might be just a throwaway character as a Japanese pop culture reference and they had no plan to expand him as a char. Also, it seems people didn't really care about him really much (although he's like the 4th most fav character in Japan around early 2000)
while capcom has good stories(mortal kombat is where the story is unimportant outside subzero/scorpion and parts of kitana as it's just there for gore and the characters are just there to look cool or sexy with weak attempts at times to fix some/street fighter 4 is where the story felt like filler from ono's direction at points.) i like the mystery of g. really love rose(am so glad it didn't lead to an alpha reboot for 6 though really wish alpha characters got into 6 base.)/oro feeling unsettled by him,how he uses the power of the earth in a similar way to the terry bogard/geese howard,being unsettling but surprisingly hilariously benevolent compared to the others having complexes and having an awesome theme. while he's not q(necalli is more why not to shove an antagonist with a goal that goes against the series that could've been easily reworked.) i'm convinced he's tied to him being involved in his creation but also that g's the previous leader of the illuminati with how gill's somewhat surprised by him/the higher position of their society being hidden & ibuki hunting gill for the g-project(could easily have that be what g originally planned for the world with a comeback of gill/urien corrupting it to cause it's destruction controlling everyone after their society fell to disarray.)
JP has something to do with it, you can say they aren't related but the moveset adds up, his fireball does an overhead, low and straight hit like dash punch, his animations when using Amnesia looks like Q taunt with the hands up, he does one of his animations when winning but he just don't steps on the player head, G and JP maybe worked together to make many Qs controled by both so that's why the moveset look alike, the same happens with Urien, Alex and Gill wich they all have moveset that look alike just because they are all from the same breed of fighters according to the comics, and Alex is a little different cause he didn't fight like the other 2, but having a tackle, knee drop, strong overhead and even a launching D.HP? They made it look alike for a reason and i think it' the same with JP, Q and G. Or i'm just really going way too far with it.
Well alex does wrestling, pro wrestling and kick boxing, while urien and gill do prankation i think, which includes wrestling but could be coincidence, or maybe to make the protag and boss feel connected or something Your JP theory might have merit since psycho power can control people, and JP has organized company fallings and peoples deaths, so it wouldnt be farfetched to think him and G made many Qs and other freaky stuff after (prolly) imprisoning bison in his cane, tho they gotta have a WT Pt.2 or a story mode for the main chars to progress all this cuz we dont have all the pieces norcharacters to tell this narrative yet
@@ivaerz4977 They are way different when it comes to anything else, Alex, Urien and Gill are related by other things outside of moveset, like the fact that Twelve can't hurt any of them, he just turn into sand in the comics if he touch alex, Q on the other hand is only really conected to G and that's it, they do look alike in their moveset and when it comes to lore reasons SF does that a lot, that's why Dan tatsu look like a tiger knee and not a actual tatsu, or why Decapre has Claw target combo and many other cases, you can say Jamie is related to Yan and Yung because of his moveset alone.

I know this is quite subjective, however, you guys gotta be delusional to think that G is the example of interesting character. G is probably the most uninteresting character in all of Street Fighter. Even the generic MMA fighter Luke is more interesting. Anyway, just so you know, your opinion on what's an interesting character is, just like mine, subjective.
Capcom makes good games. But really bad at making character designs. Q is what happens if you ask a 5 year old to make a "mysterious character." Mask? Check. Trenchcoat? Check. Gloves? Check. Fedora hat? Check. Darkened profile upon entrance? Check. Useless nonsensical ending? Check.

I have a plot twist theory here: G could be Robert Sullivan (Luke father) we all know that he die in the mall explosion but how about gill save his life before the explosion, brain wash him and Robert is doing mysterious things

I really want Q to recieve a second chance in sf6 i think his sense of mystery and his sluggish and explosive moves just makes him so cool
It should be well known by now that sf3 was not supposed to be a sf game, the team are working on a brand new fighting game unnamed, it's capcom called them up and transform this game to the sf3.1 then two following, and that's why the game feels so much different, and there are many characters almost clones of old sf type, if it was a sf game developed they would need to add Remy or Dudley or Necro, just use guile balrog and Dhalsim.
Anyway, Q is definitely an "original" character, and his backstrory started no where near streetfighter story, so everything is new, G is a direct succession to Q, which could mean a new type of force, but it could just be an experiment.
To me, Q being "manipulated from behind the scenes" in the sf3 animations notes was not about the fact he was manipulated. More that that's the feeling we must get from him. The fcte we see him everywhere with him having a teleport move is just to confuse us. His conflicting emotions, Etc etc.

Whats actually our best hint is that the recent director chose to show us those concept art without cutting the words. Decided to make a female concept art. Maybe for a move or story mode. Maybe decided to keep the mystery for one more game after sf6 was confirmed. But still show us that concept art. As well as taking the opportunity of a season 5 of dlc to add oro and rose. 1 that can see the future and potentially talk to her past self from before the first Q appeared. The other so powerful him saying that G is a danger makes it that much more impressive.
Also side note. If thatbtheory is true. Why would he be named G, and his puppets Q? G could stand for gold, god, idk. But Q ? It may just be a detail that can really be retroactively changed. But I wonder if Q now actually stand for something.
I saw somewhere that G could mean "Gold" while Q is "Quicksilver," which follows Gold directly on the periodic table.
I seriously doubt that's what they were going for as they named Q some 20 years ago and I don't think they'd thought it through this closely, but there it is FWIW.

I still think the explanation for Necalli’s flair out is meta. I think Necalli’s character was Yoshinori Ono’s idea but when he was removed from street fighter due to the poor launch, they scrapped it.
I do find the mystery fun, but in the end, for me, I just really want G back for 6 basically as he was in 5. Charisma and all.
And if he gets the ‘Q’ costume, even better

It is very interesting and I would love to know, but I think it's also one of those things that would lose all the magic if it was confirmed or explained. Some things are best left to debate and hinted at and referenced to.
Q either being sad or stomping on the loser’s head felt like one man suffering from internal conflict or being mind controlled. Now it moreso feels like each Q is a different person each time, and while 1 Q may hate what they did another Q might love it, or not care at all.
While I want G/Q to come back, watch Capcom give us O or C and just make the mystery even more complicated
Q is one of the most intriguing characters in the STreet Fighter universe, because they have not explained anything about him. We have to draw our own ideas.

G also appears in an SF6 title that you can equip called “Here Comes the Reign” where it pictures a bunch of Street Fighter bad guys like M Bison and Seth (and G).
Bringing Q back would be great. But i feel like they would just ruin his signature as a mysterious menacing cyborg-like being. I would rather them keeping him the way he is than ruining it for us after 25 years of mysterious rizz around Q.
Capcom has peculiar priorities when it comes to story. This is why I didn't understand why people were talking like they were "so sure" Rose, G and Q were getting a follow up in the next game. That said, at any point they can return to this. Several game(and years) from now or as a add on for World Tour.
Honestly, would not surprise me if when G shows up as DLC, a bunch of Qs start running around in World Tour as part of a quest

You know, I think I’ve mentioned this in the past but the same way that Gil might be hinting that G is Q, is how I came to the conclusion that Lily is actually tied to Necalli. Because of the way that Ryu, Dhalsim, and Zangief refer to her spirit. I don’t remember the SF5 story, but I know that Ryu and Dhalsim had a pretty big role when it came to why Necalli was there. I hope he comes back with some kind of purpose. In a perfect world, SF6 would slowly release multiple story modes. One for the whole JP aspect, another surrounding Lily and Necalli, and another for Gil and the Illuminati coming back (cuz there’s hints of that happening in World Tour I think). Honestly they could do a countdown from the games, utilizing each villain for every new storyline. I know that those copy fighter robots aren’t there for nothing Seth. But ugh, I REALLY do not want Bison to come back. If it worked out this way tho, I couldn’t complain.
Edit: Actually, maybe I wouldn’t mind Bison returning if Rose goes back to him and takes control, changing the character into something fresh.

So eds WT events are prolly gonna be pretty important storywise, so if JP is only the first boss, and either gill or G (whos got the power of the roman goddess, Gaia) then Akuma could actually do something with that shin hair by fighting them since prolly no other chars strong enough, or somehow they gotta go avengers mode to beat this final boss, OR rose already reset the timeline which i cant prove, but basically, if theres no apocalypse then either rose succeeded or she failed and it just hasnt happened yet
But this whole G thing is so big it makes me wonder if JP was added so that they could side step that whole storyline, which i hope isnt the case cuz dropping a whole multigame mystery would feel very unsatisfying

The Real Reason they Created Q, was an Homage to a Japanese Detective Series.. I forgot The Name. But his story was so vague and mysterious, that it actually worked.
So when V came around.. I don't doubt that they wanted to put Q back in there, but they couldn't do/pull that same "Mysterious" Narrative a Second Time.. because they're just - Capcom. So they created an imitation of Q. G. New Mysterious Background, similar Moves, well.. sort of.
Now everyone and their mothers is running around claiming that The 2 Characters are Connected in some way, will only incentivize Capcom to Lazily connect The 2.. to tie things off.
In all honesty, Q is more Gouki (Akuma) than he is Vega (M. Bison). He searches for worthy Opponents to kill them. It's why his Main Rival is Gouki.
No words are Exchanged .. just Straight to Battle. Just how they like it.
This. Knowing Capcom, Q might be just a throwaway character as a Japanese pop culture reference and they had no plan to expand him as a char. Also, it seems people didn't really care about him really much (although he's like the 4th most fav character in Japan around early 2000)

while capcom has good stories(mortal kombat is where the story is unimportant outside subzero/scorpion and parts of kitana as it's just there for gore and the characters are just there to look cool or sexy with weak attempts at times to fix some/street fighter 4 is where the story felt like filler from ono's direction at points.) i like the mystery of g.
really love rose(am so glad it didn't lead to an alpha reboot for 6 though really wish alpha characters got into 6 base.)/oro feeling unsettled by him,how he uses the power of the earth in a similar way to the terry bogard/geese howard,being unsettling but surprisingly hilariously benevolent compared to the others having complexes and having an awesome theme.
while he's not q(necalli is more why not to shove an antagonist with a goal that goes against the series that could've been easily reworked.) i'm convinced he's tied to him being involved in his creation but also that g's the previous leader of the illuminati with how gill's somewhat surprised by him/the higher position of their society being hidden & ibuki hunting gill for the g-project(could easily have that be what g originally planned for the world with a comeback of gill/urien corrupting it to cause it's destruction controlling everyone after their society fell to disarray.)

JP has something to do with it, you can say they aren't related but the moveset adds up, his fireball does an overhead, low and straight hit like dash punch, his animations when using Amnesia looks like Q taunt with the hands up, he does one of his animations when winning but he just don't steps on the player head, G and JP maybe worked together to make many Qs controled by both so that's why the moveset look alike, the same happens with Urien, Alex and Gill wich they all have moveset that look alike just because they are all from the same breed of fighters according to the comics, and Alex is a little different cause he didn't fight like the other 2, but having a tackle, knee drop, strong overhead and even a launching D.HP? They made it look alike for a reason and i think it' the same with JP, Q and G.

Well alex does wrestling, pro wrestling and kick boxing, while urien and gill do prankation i think, which includes wrestling but could be coincidence, or maybe to make the protag and boss feel connected or something
Your JP theory might have merit since psycho power can control people, and JP has organized company fallings and peoples deaths, so it wouldnt be farfetched to think him and G made many Qs and other freaky stuff after (prolly) imprisoning bison in his cane, tho they gotta have a WT Pt.2 or a story mode for the main chars to progress all this cuz we dont have all the pieces norcharacters to tell this narrative yet

@@ivaerz4977 They are way different when it comes to anything else, Alex, Urien and Gill are related by other things outside of moveset, like the fact that Twelve can't hurt any of them, he just turn into sand in the comics if he touch alex, Q on the other hand is only really conected to G and that's it, they do look alike in their moveset and when it comes to lore reasons SF does that a lot, that's why Dan tatsu look like a tiger knee and not a actual tatsu, or why Decapre has Claw target combo and many other cases, you can say Jamie is related to Yan and Yung because of his moveset alone.

G is probably the most uninteresting character in all of Street Fighter. Even the generic MMA fighter Luke is more interesting.
