Yes! Singing is so much more than flair and high sustained notes. As a songwriter, I have a story or a point to get across and the best singers will understand and express that while covering emotion, both the subtle and the grand. I think people are finally becoming desensitized to the "hey, look what I can do! " approach in popular music. I think people are finally getting back to a craving for audible human emotion and connection through music, music with purpose.
