Installed one a couple of months ago for rain harvesting into 2x IBC and am really pleased. The filter does its job very well so does need checking/ cleaning regularly. The bottom pops off easily for occasional thorough cleaning using a soft brush. Very robust, simple construction. Great product. Thank you.
I believe filtering the water before it gets to the tank is far better. Keep the muck out of the water. What you have built is a tea maker. Just as a tea bag leaches chemicals into your water. Your filter will do the same. Tannins and other chemicals will leach into your water over time. The point is that you will need to filter debri before it gets to the tank for clean water. Sorry but this makes no sense to me.
I would be very interested to know any information you have on plastic leaching into the water, especially for 110mm pipe because that looks like a drainage pipe where drinking water standards do not apply (as far as I know).
The standard is 77 micron and we are introducing 10 micron mesh filters. Price depends on the type of filter you are after. Best to email the inventor direct - themadinventor1@aol.com
what is the purpose of making the filter so long into the tote? i was actually thinking of just doing one that recessed down into the tote 3-4 inches. i like how you put the tube extending upwards from the top of the tote. you can put your flex pipe directly into the opening this way you dont lose any water. i dont see many setups even have that.
The double Coupling at the top just above the cap is designed to stay in place, as this is structure to holding all in position and keep sealed throughout. If I can assist further please email themadinventor1@aol.com
Hi David I got a mighty yellow off you a couple years ago and I’m in Canada. Was wondering if I could use this filter for filtering used engine and hydraulic oil ? Also what is the cost ? Thanks Joe

I also build and supply filters that go 5" inside the tank.
Gday David, can you tell me how to remove the downpipe from the ibc top cap please

Yes the Mighty Yellow will filter any type of oil or liquid.
What is the standard micron you make for rainwater harvesting, and what price per unit? Cheers.
77 micron and prices vary filter to filter, depends on your requirements.
Where to purchase it?
You can purchase direct from me at themadinventor1@aol.com
How much are they
Have them in 1 micron?
Bladen Rexroth No sorry can't get the mesh that fine, if I could it would cost alot more.
David Robbins what's the lowest micron you have for these and can I use it for veg oil?
Bladen Rexroth yes you can use it for veg oil. Lowest grade depends just how low you want to go. I guess near 1 micron as poss.
David Robbins I'd like to use IBC totes to process my veg oil. I live in a mostly warm climate. I'd like to build a multi filter gravity system.
Bladen Rexroth be more than happy to help you with your project, if you email me - themadinventor1@aol.com and we can take it from there.
