Since the meats like goat and oxtail have to be cooked for hours, bigger pieces lessen the likelihood of the meat being reduced to gravey.

To catch fish THAT big in Jamaica, you would have to go far out. At least 30 miles or so, very dangerous with the type of old antiquated equipment they use. Inland Jamaican fish aren't so big.
