The story of Jonah and the Whale begins with Jonah running away after refusing God's order to go to Nineveh. He ends up on a ship as a storm rages. The sailors ask Jonah what's going and he admits that the storm is his punishment. ... Jonah is swallowed by a huge fish and prays to God from the fish's belly.
ABRAHAM'S SACRIFICE
According to the Hebrew Bible, God commands Abraham to offer his son Isaac as a sacrifice. After Isaac is bound to an altar, a messenger from God stops Abraham at the last minute, saying "now I know you fear God." Abraham looks up and sees a ram and sacrifices it instead of Isaac.
