Since the stimulation that's causing that anxiety (in this case, the grooming) isn't going away, it escalates to the attempted biting
Poor little thing. Not really her fault she was dealt such an awful lot in life, both genetically and situationally. Glad she's receiving kindness and compassion now.
I completely agree with you, Carissa! Who’s to say when she received her first groom ever anyways?! Grooming must start young and the OP knows this, because she preaches it all the time. I have a Shih Tzu mix and absolutely adore her to bits!
@@AvocadoAtrocity there are some very soft sedatives often plant based and so. People usually use them during new years eve so their dogs don't go crazy during fireworks. Some of them are even available at pet stores but that might depend on the country where you live
We initially tried a tablet to sedate and it had zero effect on her, because of her extreme anxiety with grooming. We ended up begging my vet to groom her under anesthesia, they reluctantly agreed because they had no grooming experience. My tech got to be a very good groomer. To make matters worse my dogs kidneys were failing as her kidney disease progressed we had to change meds. My tech got so good working with her she only need a brief dose when they did her face. My dog was much worse than the one in this video. The tech at my vet had bonded with her so much that she was able to do things with my dog that I couldn’t. When my dog passed she had a tear in her eye. God bless her, without her willingness to tend to my fur baby she would have had to be euthanized. The folks that work with this babies are angels.
"The owner believes she's inbred" *Close up of Champagne's adorable face, with her eye's firmly in two different hemispheres* "You don't say?!" 😆 You did a great job, and I'm so glad she found her people!
I love how the camera man is like the supportive dad asking her if it's okay to try again. He is so sweet and always has nice things to say to the animals. I love that he doesn't just stay quiet, he helps too. He and Vanessa make a great team.
Having fostered several rescues from hoarding situations you can tell Champagne's behavior is pure anxiety...the tail wagging is a dead giveaway. It's like she does not want to bite you and be bad but her fight/flight is going thru the roof! I am glad she has a loving home now! BTW, That low pressure dryer in the crate is GENIUS Vanessa! ❤🐶👍
@@stevenfrost6441 chosen family has a pup that's from a hoarding situation. After spending a day with her I told her humans, "if Zo were human, I'd say she has PTSD".
You are amazing. Simply being willing to take a " problem" dog is not something not everyone will do. If no one else has said it, thank you for helping this poor baby and her human!
Letting a dog rest and dry in the kennel dryer after showing severe anxiety throughout the groom is very kind and helpful and I genuinely think the dogs realize that you’re doing something to make them feel better (I’ve had some dogs calm down considerably for the rest of the appointment after a kennel rest)
As a Shih Tzu owner who hasn't been able to find a groomer that can handle my little girl on our side of the world, it's made me tear up how gentle and patient you were with her. For most of the ten years Cielo has been in this world we've had to content ourselves with grooming her at home.
Tzus are my heart breed but they never forget. And I mean NEVER. My first Tzu was abused by her first groomer and no matter how skilled I became in training and behavioral modification, she still was on guard. To see someone not only acknowledge her history of abuse, but adapt to suit her needs is remarkable. Even just switching spots with the camera man shows just how far you will go to cater to a dog. And that is beyond incredible
So true my mum’s Tzu George knows he has to be well behaved to get any love from me. He’ll jump and bark at everyone else but will come and sit calmly at my feet. Gizmo, her ‘rescue’ puppy farm Tzu… ah he’s a lost cause but luckily smaller and no snappy or grouchiness 😂
As a groomer at a vet, you did a fantastic job. I do the three levels of grooming i.e. regular groom, oral sedative groom, and full sedation grooms. These typically are senior babies with either extreme sensitivity, old age crankiness due to age and joint pain, or stress levels from strangers or strange items and experiences. It is some of the most gratifying work to be done in my life, as most of the time I am the last stop for alot of these fur children. Much love to all of you!
Also the drugged blep gives me life, hopefully the retraining of the grooming table will rehab this baby to be a little more comfy as time goes on. Much love to little champagne, my 3 senior dogs and 3 senior cats are rooting for ya!
@@matthewnienkirchen8083 agreed. These were all okayed via the vet, but I'll always attempt on a lower dosage if I'm seeing an improvement on their behavior
Watching her walk towards the camera at the end made me wanna cry!! There is hope for this little one. Bless the rescuer who got her out of the hoarding situation, and bless you and the cameraman for giving her a chance with sooo much patience
My shih tzu is a rescue from a puppy farm. When we got her she needed 2 surgeries in order to be able breathe properly and she had an ear infection. She's so sweet but I can't help but feel bad for her. Aside from her unfortunate genetic situation, her lfie so far so far has clearly affected her. We've had maybe about 5 or 6 years now and she's much more normal than she used to be, but she's still very quiet, careful and definitely hungry. I'm lucky she's not aggressive at all, but even if she was she was still missing most her teeth when we got her. I feel very bad for shih tzus and pugs. They're certainly cute, and generally lovely dogs, but they just don't deserve the difficulties that come with their breed.
Absolutely right about these dogs that are purposely being bred for short snouts. I have a corgi. They have purposely been bred for short legs and long bodies. In order to herd cattle. As much as I love her and as cute as she is, this breed has so many problems because of their joints and legs being so short
Poor gal. One of the benefits of social media is the ability to educate the public about the downsides of different breeds and you do such a good job. 🧡😊✌
I had a Shi-weeney is the mix between a Dachshund and a shitzu the Dachshund bred out the short face and the bulging eyes of the shih Tzu and the shih Tzu fixed along back of the Dachshund. People need to understand these dogs did not look like this 100 years ago, like pugs French bulldogs basically all brachycephalic dogs they can't breathe they can't cool themselves down it's sad!!! It's illegal to breed pugs in the Netherlands they consider it cruel to continue to breed dogs that can't breathe some of them have to be intubated to breathe at all they have to have surgery to open up airways this that said pugs are the only dogs that don't try to rip the tubes out of their mouth after surgery.... Google what these dogs look like 100 years ago...
@@LizC-hq6tt I have though began to recently see pugs with slightly elongated snouts. Some breeders are doing ethical breeding now for healthier pugs, that a) don't look like their face has been smashed in by a frying pan and b) longer snouts, means they can actually god damn breathe. Not sure about the French Bulldogs, but if they're doing ethical breeding on the pugs to get back that elongated snout, then measures are being taken for the French Bulldogs. Believe me, I despise dogs with short snouts and flat faces because of the amount of medical issues they suffer.
@@rangerslayer2260 I agree. My sister had a pug, she always bitched about her "snoring all the time" I told her they have a lot of problems with breathing, I told her the same thing! How do u expect her to breathe when it looks like she's literally ran full force into a frying pan!! I'm glad to hear people being more ethical about it because dude those dog's I've got to be miserable I know people with COPD who get winded when they get up and walk to the refrigerator from the kitchen table which is like 2 ft I mean I couldn't imagine only knowing that your whole entire life never being able to breathe right.. Because ppl think it's cute..
@@LizC-hq6tt no. People need to understand that 99% of the dogs people see are NOT well bred, they are not bred to standard. The standard hasn't changed in 100 years. We literally have paintings depicting the breeds because photography didn't exist. Pugs have better backs then they did. English Bulldogs have straighter legs. A longer muzzle doesn't eliminate anything, it's a marketing scam and studies don't support it.
@@rangerslayer2260 nope, they can't. It's a scam. They are at no lower risk for BOAs. They also are breeding those long muzzled dogs to have bowed legs and skateboard ramp backs. Just eliminate their ability to move for 4k.
I recently lost my own shih tzu a few weeks ago, but watching this video helped remind me of all of his habits. He was my first dog and we got him from an owner who had two other dogs, I mention this because we had a feeling he was a bit abused in that home as he was petrified of other dogs no matter how small, and he was also very defensive when it came to baths, his paws, and anything to do with his face. He was much too feisty for groomers to deal with so we had to bathe him ourselves over the years, and as tiring as it sometimes was I still loved him dearly, and knew he didn’t mean any harm he was just scared. I miss him dearly but it was nice getting to see this lovely gal who looks so similar to him, and to hear the signature snoring I’ve grown to love over the years. Despite their health issues I think shih tzus are one of the sweetest breeds anyone can have
So sorry for your loss. Lost my shih tzu buddy Henry in March 2021. Brown and white... Looked so similar to this cute dog. Miss him every day! It is great to see some adorable shih tzu mannerisms again. Henry was my first dog as well, but we had him from a puppy. He was so sweet (except when it was time for grooming) and even converted multiple friends of mine who had always identified themselves as exclusively cat people. I like all breeds but when it's time to get another dog, I will be hard-pressed not to get another shih tzu. Although it breaks my heart that they have been bred to have so many health issues.
We have a Shih tzu since he was a puppy and he was never abused, yet he acts pretty exactly like what you described. I think it's just how most of them are wired.
I have a puppy I got around 3 or 4 weeks. She has NEVER allowed me to get near her face. I wish I had known to get her used to a groomer because I just am too scared for her anxiety to take her one. I may call my vet and ask about brining her in for sedation to allow me to get her groomed. 😭 Just replied because, it doesn’t always indicate abuse. None of my dogs like getting baths, but while I can bathe Dixie, I can’t get her face good and suncs she’s a king hair pup, this is not ideal since she can get so much in the corner of her eyes.
i had my Shitzu for 15 years until a long battle with Cancer took him and respiratory problems. I loved every frustrating, magical, jaw dropping and loving moment with him and all the years we had together..
@@heroineofdarkness8439 i'm so sorry to read this, my condolences to you. Mine has liver cancer and than it took his esophagus. It was so hard to see and fight that with him and he still wanted to fight on. I loved my Shitzu.
@@BeanieBiker "Sake" came from a line of Shitzus in my family and I think a lot of his health issues came because he was the son of his mother's son, so somewhat in bread. I did know many things I know now about the bread and Thier health. Our dogs can really profit or pay dearly or choices. Knowledge is key when having a bread to avoid a lot of suffering.
As a groomer myself, it gives me a sense of relief that I struggle to groom my mother's shih Tzu. She is the sweetest girl but similarly, snaps with no prior warning. I've cried from frustration before attempting her face and it often ends up quite like Champagne's. Thank you for showing the difficult grooms as well as the easier ones 🧡
I loved my little shihtzu, Harvey, so much. His problems were itchy paws (he'd lay down and lick his front paws for hours when they were bothering him) and later in his life, joint issues. He lived until he was almost 15, when his back legs just gave out on him and he couldnt stand any more. I tried to keep him as clean and dignified as I could, but eventually my vet said it was kinder to let him go. I still think him almost daily even almost 10 years on, he was a gentle soul, was never aggressive just very vocal ❤
Poor dogs..My parents had a boxer with allergie symptoms like that. He was on some kind of medication for it, that didn't really help that much unfortunately. Also took a while to figure out what he was allergic to. I felt really bad for him, but as an anti-ASMR person the paw licking sound drove me pretty much as mad as the itching drove him...
@@eva-w Mine a mixed of shihtzu and pom. She's also had various skin problems, including itchy palms. I tried everything and the itchy palms still kept coming back. The doctor said it's okay to let it be, as long as she's still active and well.
I see tons of Malteses, Yorkies, Shih Tzus, and mixes thereof. It really cannot be understated how incredibly important it is to socialize your pets and make them comfortable with grooming. ESPECIALLY these breeds.
breaks my heart to see terrified little dogs that clearly want SO badly to cooperate and get along but are way too scared. my sister's dog (also a small nervous rescue) used to be that way
The one Shih Tzu I used to see regularly was a cutie named Muffin. She was remarkably healthy for her breed and was so sweet. Her owners were elderly but still took her on walks and I’d see them frequently. To ask for a treat she would sit up like a meerkat and put her paws together like she was saying ‘please’. I miss that little dog, she lived to a ripe old age too.
My hairdresser had shih tzus. Her oldest one lived to almost 17. Her two oldest ones were the darlings of their groomer. Such well behaved boys. But her youngest one turned into a screaming snapping ball of angry.
My shih tzu did the same thing. We would tell her, "say please", and she would make the same action. It was so adorable. Mine was very healthy too. Her name was Tai Tai. She was 15 when she passed away. She was my little angel 😇. I miss her more than I can say. My dogs groomer loved her and still misses her too. She said she was the sweetest baby, and was very well behaved.
Thank you for being so kind & patient with this old girl. I've adopted 2 Shih Tzu who were over 11 when I adopted them from the MSPCA. They had all the health issues but the daily joy & laughter they generated would make me do it again in a nano-second. The Shih Tzu is a wonderful breed!❤️
I have a Shi tzu, he has 4 years old The vets call him “prince” because he is sooooo sweet and obedient But in home…in portuguese we have a word for its: “serelepe” He is my pride and best friend 💙 (Sorry for my poor English)
Poor Baby! It's obvious she's very traumatized from her past. I rescued a Shihtzu many years ago from the streets. When I found her she was starving, terrified, and had been shot twice with a BB gun. After a bath (during which she turned from black to blonde) I took her to my parents house, fully intending to keep her myself, but my mother fell instantly in love with her. So I left her in my mother's loving care. The next morning my mom took her to the vet, and long story short, $900.00 later she was on the road to recovery. She lived with them, as their Queen, for eight years, and my parents were dutiful and loving servants. The entire family still misses her to this day.
I feel bad for Champagne. It's not her fault that she had such a horrible start in life. At least she is settled in a good home now. You did a WONDERFUL job grooming her! Her owners' are probably very surprised by how amazing she looks compared to when she came in to your shop! KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK😘🐶
My Shih Tzu was banned from at least 3 groomers for biting. He kept escaping the muzzles. We ended up doing it ourselves. He would often end up with a lions mane because we ran out of time and couldn't control him enough to finish.
@@jimwoods9551 He was simply scared. Their breed is anxious. It's not the dog's fault they are the breed they are. It's incredibly sad to see someone seemingly happy that their pet, who didn't ask to be born or taken in, is dead.
The part about the dog potentially being inbred and giving that face made me die laughing Glad you were able to do what most other groomers can't, and made sure the dogs safety and comfort were in check
You did an incredible job (along with your camera man) of making this little munchkin feel as secure as possible. I bet she’ll become more accepting as she realizes life has gotten so much better. Thanks to all who were involved in saving her.
I always appreciate seeing you put the dog’s and your safety above appearances. She looks adorable despite her face not being “done”, you did a wonderful job!
You guys are SO compassionate. That looked like a stressful groom, and you weathered it well enough to make this little critter's life better. ❤️ 🐕 🛷 🐶 🦮
I truly appreciate the care and patience you and your bf gave to Miss Champagne. She is going to remember how kind and slow you took things. She’s going to remember the smells and noises. So I hope she can start associate the good. She didn’t deserve the bad owners, but today is a new day, and a new chapter can be written. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
I adopted my shih tzu from a shelter ages ago and she too was a breeder from a hoarding situation. She was so matted that the shelter found maggots tangled in the mats and smelled HORRIBLE. Hair matted completely over her face to the point it affected her eating and breathing. She was so depressed and sluggish that she would barely walk. She made a complete 180 degree change when she got shaved down and became a sweet, goofy girl. Unfortunately, she was mostly blind and, despite being a sweetheart 95% of the time, would growl and try to bite if you touched her feet or the top of her head. Champagne reminds me of her, right down to her coloring. Just a sweet dog from a tough situation that needed a good, patient groomer!
Thank you for being brave enough to try to groom this dog and persisting despite difficulties and risks. So many groomers won't even attempt dogs like this so I'm so glad you are showing that it is possible to get a decent groom done on difficult dogs
You did such a good job! You’re truly a rare find on RUclips, where groomers rarely focus on the anxiety and actually take the time to calm and comfort the dog. Thank you!
Poor little Champagne. Not her fault, and bless you for your patience, and kindness! Edited to add: my heart melted seeing your Cameraman helping with his gentle hands and encouraging voice. Please tell him we appreciate him, too.❤
Poor baby!! My parents have a Shih Tzu named Merlin who was absolutely a terror to everyone and every thing. He would bite with no warning or growling, and he is a huge shih tzu at 25 lbs. we eventually found out he had diabetes and once he started insulin, he’s a completely different dog! Still stand offish but no biting at all. It’s insane
My parents had a Shih Tzu that lived to be over 19 years old, and she was absolutely the sweetest little thing - and, luckily, no eye problems. I was stunned that this one had aggression, I didn't think they had it in them.
They can be very sweet but id guess this one’s some combination of bad genetics and poor early socialization/training. But even the best dogs can be difficult to groom if they haven’t been conditioned for it
i have a Shih Tzu and she is the sweetest thing! sadly i can't hang out with her much because i have sensory issues and she has moderate skin problems as far as i know but we're trying to treat it sorry to sort of info dump but just thought i'd share!
Every dog has it in them to be aggressive but I would categorize her behavior as more defensive. She has her triggers and does not show signs of stress very well (or at all). I have seen aggressive chows, shepherds, huskies, chihuahuas, and many many mutts that we were not able to guess their breed. They were some kind of terrier but God knows what breed
I'm so glad Champagne was rescued and now gets to experience real love and the best grooming experience on Earth! 🤗❤ Your channel always makes me feel happy and grateful for people like you in the world.
I had a Shih Tzu for 14 years. I got pretty lucky with his health until the very end, when he got diagnosed with congestive heart failure and very quickly went downhill. He was a blessing and we took the best care of him possible.
That close-up and pause at "You don't say?!" just about killed me laughing. Co-workers craning their necks trying to figure out who made the howl-cackle-snort noise that just disrupted the super quiet surroundings 😂
Great job Vanessa, I hope you keep working with her and eventually we get an update about how much better and more comfortable she's become! My grandfather had an extremely sweet Shih-tzu named Buster and we were told he was essentially a "reject" from a breeder or puppy mill - wonky eyes, bow legs, very silly looking fellow all around. He had such a lovely temperament though and he brought my Nonno such joy and companionship in his sunset years!
Thank you for being so patient with this little girl. I had a Shih Tzu and she did not like going to the groomer either. Fortunately, her groomer was patient and wonderful, and she just got better and better along the years.
No breeder, it was a pet hoarding situation. Someone owned a ton of animals, neglected them, and allowed them to breed to eachother. Which meant siblings and parents were breeding with one another.
I just feel so bad for this doggy. Thanks for being so gentle. We all know it is not their fault. She is a sweet girl, she needs all the love she can get.
A family friend has a shih tzu and he is the chillest little dude ever. She got him when he was a puppy and he went back and forth between our houses when she would travel or in hospital so in his earlier years he would spend upwards of 2 or 3 months a year with us. He bonded so hard in a way I had never seen and will probably never again see with one of our dogs who was several times his size. They were the bestest doggy friends and acted like brothers.
I had a shih tzu named Snickers she passed last year she was so chill and sweet and loved to cuddle my mom would say she was more of a teddy bear than a dog lol she was my little buddy and even though it's been a year it's still hard to accept that she's gone sometimes
Thank you for trying so hard and helping her so much. That poor little thing must struggle an awful lot, even with the rather frightening abrupt snapping its hard to be upset at her. I can't imagine what being her feels like.
She is so precious! Thank you. I love watching what you do. I have 12 dogs (which several are rescues). I do all my own grooming, so I really appreciate the tips!
I really hope they bring her back/you accept her back. I would love to see her again and see how things might work with the face cut right at the start while she is still sedated some. You always take what you learned and make the next time even more personal for the animals. I love your content and how patient you are with the animals. She has no idea how fortunate she is to have such a wonderful groomer.
Poor baby! I love that you were able to get her taken care of without being under anesthesia. It is stressful and they probably equate grooming with the sick feeling when coming around. Hopefully she will get better as she gets groomed more often in such a kind and gentle way!!
She's a typical Shi Tzu, I know, we have had plenty of them in my family. Its amazing that she was able to get such an amazing groom without being under anesthesia. I love this!!!!
You are blessed with great patience. You did such a great job. You are so right on about about all of the health issues Shih Tzus have. I have one and he's thirteen and we've have spent so much time at the vet's office. But he is the sweetest most loving guy I could have ever ask for. He loves everyone he meets, adults, children, cats, other dogs. I couldn't have ask for a better pal.
It's doubly difficult to take on a challenging client when you know literally millions of people will be watching. Kudos to Vanessa and the Cameraman for going the extra mile under that pressure and still doing an amazing job.
You are an absolute saint with animals. I'd say you did a fantastic job given the circumstances. You have an incredible amount of patience in your work and while dogs with these kinds of temperaments tend to make your job harder, you still excel at doing it.
My 7 year old shih tzu got turned away from a groomers about 3 years ago and I’ve been grooming her ever since. But since I left home, she doesn’t get groomed as much as she needs to. I’m trying to convince my mom to take her to the groomers, but we’re afraid they’ll just turn her down again. It’s nice to know that some groomers actually understand the dog is frightened and not just being a pain!❤️
I just lost mine a couple of months ago. She was 18 at the time and had multiple health issues that had compounded over the years, including going blind in both eyes. She was also the happiest, most exciteable dog I'd ever known and would excitedly wag her tail with gusto, to the point that you'd think it was a bigger dog making all that noise from the tail hitting stuff. I still miss her.
I love this breed. I've had two of them. One was a rescue with unpredictable aggression issues. I worked with experts and vets for nine years but the issues were never totally resolved. I tried, people, and he had nine years with me that were basically fine. A few years later I got a Shih Tuz pup from a breeder, and he was the SWEETEST most laid-back little dog you can imagine. Got along well with people, adored his days at doggie day care where he played well with all the others. But he had a lot of health issues and didn't make it to his 12th birthday. I still miss that little guy. I adored him and he was my heart dog. I agree with the comments in the videos. Shih Tzus can be fabulous companions but IMO due to bad breeding I won't have another one.
Once again I applaud you. The kindness and understanding and compassion that you and your cameraman had for this little fuzzball when you were grooming her was so amazing. And she looks quite lady like now. ❤️❤️
She seems so nervous. I have adopted a shih tzu from a shelter. She was nervous at first and very nippy during daily cleaning and grooming. But thankfully through consistent training and regular grooming sessions she became used to it and now even enjoys it.
Watching this video made me cry a bit. I had a Lhasa Apso (they look a lot like the Shih Tzu) who passed away this year. Her previous owner basically left her with my family to enjoy a vacation and never came back for her, so we took care of the little thing. We had to find a way to pay for everything she needed cuz those species are very likely to develop diseases, my little angel had a bunch of surgeries because of cancer, at the end of her life she ompletely lost her vision and couldn't hear pretty well. We never found a specialist to cut her hair because everytime we hired someone to do it, she would return completely stressed and sometimes injured. It's amazing to see how you treat the dogs you're taking care of, I wished there were more people like you in the world ♥︎
I own a Shi tzu. She is my first dog ever, so I'm partial to the breed. She's 3, and I've been working with her since 6 months to get her better acclimated to going to the groomer. She is a lot better, I must say. She has been my angel through some very hard times. Thank you for sharing your content. Shi-tzus are the BEST!!
@@LC.1990 Absolutely the best. After owning one, you eventually learn how to manage health issues that they are prone to, it's a non issue. Also, despite health problems they still live longer than most breeds,

When my dog passed she had a tear in her eye. God bless her, without her willingness to tend to my fur baby she would have had to be euthanized. The folks that work with this babies are angels.

Thank you from Indiana.
Exactly! And I also admire her foster family for taking her, so hopefully she will be a happier dog from now on.
Poor little doggo, it's so sad that she had such a rough life.. but she looked really beautiful at the end and was so friendly after the grooming.

They are very loving and trustworthy. But if you ever break that trust, they never forget indeed.
I love my Shitz’s even when they are being little 💩’s.
So accurate. Never will a Tzu forget someone who has done them wrong. I actually love that about them lol
Please tell that groomer got what's coming to them because that's heartbreaking.

What is meant by a hoarding situation? I just think of human hoarders who have their houses very full of items, is it this or something dog specific?
@@taliapofandt9492 it’s pretty much exactly the same as those people that have their houses full of shit, but instead of random objects, it’s dogs.
Oh, I'm so sorry for what your dog had to deal with. I hope that she is okay
It does make you wonder why dog races with so many inbred issues continue to be allowed to breed. It's bordering on cruelty
Absolutely right about these dogs that are purposely being bred for short snouts. I have a corgi. They have purposely been bred for short legs and long bodies. In order to herd cattle. As much as I love her and as cute as she is, this breed has so many problems because of their joints and legs being so short
You did an amazing job, and you value the safety of the dog over than having a prefect groom.
You did such a good job. Especially when getting so close to her eyes! Hearing the constant reassurance was lovely.
agreed with your nice comment.
My heart stopped every time the scissors got close. I couldn't be a groomer.

Just replied because, it doesn’t always indicate abuse. None of my dogs like getting baths, but while I can bathe Dixie, I can’t get her face good and suncs she’s a king hair pup, this is not ideal since she can get so much in the corner of her eyes.

Shih Tzus are prone to anxiety and OCD. Shih Tzu muzzle + CBD oil - no issues with grooming.
Itchy paws are often a symptom of allergies. Could be his food, could be environmental.
@@jos9569 Yep, we had a cream to put on them from the vets, it fixed it when he was getting symptoms of it.
Poor dogs..My parents had a boxer with allergie symptoms like that. He was on some kind of medication for it, that didn't really help that much unfortunately.
Awe!! Like a little meerkat. That is adorable.
They may look healthy, but they often have eye, teeth, and breathing issues because of the fundamental way their body is shaped.
My shih tzu did the same thing. We would tell her, "say please", and she would make the same action. It was so adorable. Mine was very healthy too. Her name was Tai Tai. She was 15 when she passed away. She was my little angel 😇. I miss her more than I can say.

I think you did a great job, she looks miles better.
But thankfully through consistent training and regular grooming sessions she became used to it and now even enjoys it.
your kindness and compassion to dogs are remarkable
You and your team are so loving and caring to your clients. Thank you for going the extra mile.
It's amazing to see how you treat the dogs you're taking care of, I wished there were more people like you in the world ♥︎
You're both so patient with her! What a cute, grumpy lady.
Poor little thing bless her 🐶🧡
I own a Shi tzu.
Shih tzus are the best
@@LC.1990 Absolutely the best. After owning one, you eventually learn how to manage health issues that they are prone to, it's a non issue. Also, despite health problems they still live longer than most breeds,

I had never in my life heard so much negativity about shih tzus. And her thousands of viewers are jumping on the bandwagon, too, when they really know nothing about the breed. Quite sad. I unsubscribed.
@@LC.1990 she’s dumps on shi tzus quite often. Every video of her grooming them she talks about how ugly and stupid they are.
Hoping little Champagne can have a good life with her new owners. At her age overcoming trauma can be difficult, your and Lee's patience is the kind of love she needs.
Awe, the boyfriends a keeper Vanessa. He loves these dogs too, you can see it. Poor dog has issues, but you waded through them, conquered and overcame them. Doggie is gonna feel and see so much better!! Good on you for being such a kind, patient, excellent groomer!! ❤️🐶❤️
i'm so glad that there were people there to help her every time she needed it, thank you all for being so patient with her
You did an amazing job with this poor traumatized pup, and so have her owners. I don't blame her for being snappy. Poor Champagne. She's such a beautiful dog. I'm glad she's found you and her forever home who will treat her right from now on. ❤
