Even as a bass fisherman, I completely understand this. Some days you just can't seem to connect. I've had days where I will get hit 10 times and somehow miss every damn fish. Then other days every time my bait hits the water I get an instant solid hookset. Down here in Florida we don't get any chances to Musky fish lol, but we do have Snook, Tarpon and Permit, plus every other thing you could imagine. I would love a shot at fishing some of the species you guys have up North.
A huge part of me not liking the whole jerking motion of glides is the fraction of a second they have to hit while you’re slack resulting in odd hook sets like that, I try to keep my rod too as still as I can and work the motion of the glide with suddle jerks on the real, making hits a lot more noticeable🤙🏽🤙🏽
Nice video man! That bend where you saw your first one is usually my go to spot. Very deep and nice hole. My buddy got a small one there the other day but i think because they are very pressured musky that they like a smaller presentation, in my opinion. Although you will also catch them on bigger lures, i think small ones work best usually
Hard to keep em pinned this time of year and colder. I know bass mouth get harder in cold water and are harder to keep pinned. Wonder if it's the same for pike/musky
I'm from NB Canada so 6 days till fishing opens here so I'm going to start fishing in April switch it up a bit through May for the sea trout run Plus I'm going to try and catch a salmon on one of my flies I tide. Ps Great video man👌
Lol, thats normally how it goes. We had a couple follows as well but no actual strikes. I am thinking of rigging some of those stunned shad on my cat rod. Ive seen a couple surface and eat the last week or so. Ill let you know how it goes!
I fish for musky up on the st. Lawrence river between new York and Canada. Come up here if you want to catch real monsters 👍🏼 great lakes and finger lakes area in New York is the best fishing in the world!!!!! Seneca lake is lake trout capitol of the world 👍🏼 Cayuga lake just broke the state record for small mouth bass and the biggest fresh water eel was caught by my dad's friend Larry manino on Cayuga lake in 1987 🙌🏼👍🏼 this area is worth the fishing trip
Some seriously tough breaks there. But you had the program dialed so there should be some comfort in that! Those creeks are nuts.
Thanks Matt 🙏
Great video man🤙🏾🎣 I’ve never musky fished before, (I mainly fish for trout/steelhead), but one of these years I’ve gotta give it a try!
Thanks man! Good luck to you
Nice work guys! Ain't it amazing how them big fish warm you up?! Them gloves come RIGHT OFF! 🤣🤣. Thanks guys!
Yes they do! Thanks man
Missing those fish keep us coming back for more! Great tips on the jerk bait.
Ugh I know right…thanks
Been there dude!! 6:01 is my favorite part of the whole video 🤣

I love your vids. Is so far off from what I’m used to in Lawton Oklahoma
Thank you man…whenever I hear that people who don’t do the same style of fishing are still enjoying these videos I feel I’m doing a good job
One of my favorite places to fish, I’ve done good on chatter baits there. 🎣
Another good video,,thanks. HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and your family...
Thank you! Same to you!!
That spot gets so much pressure, incredible they still bite
Definitely goes to show they aren’t the smartest fish …they simply just don’t eat as often. That’s what it seems like anyway
Nicely done bruvs 🙌🏼💪🏼
Thank you
This place is always fun way to test your patience lol maybe we will run into each out here one day

It seems that way…good to know it’s not just me sucking. I think they’re just biting it softly in the cold
Nice vid dude. 👌
Thanks bro

It’s always funny how the ones that get away are always the biggest.
Tell me about it

For sure! We go to the French River every year which similarly has really big ones. I caught my personal best of 54” there back in 2017
Your brother got some revenge for you, 4 hookups in 1 day is a win you'll get them next time
Thanks man!
What size tranx is that
400
Your Stradic sounds like it's dying!
Needs grease. Works good though
Try actually setting a hook........ really man?
I’d like to see you fish that spot buddy
