The whole world has been on lockdown and air travel and aircraft has been grounded.
Join me onboard Ryan Air’s first UK flight to Tenerife after lockdown.
Let’s experience what it’s like to take to the skies and experience what it’s like flying in the post lockdown era.
It's me and around another 60 mask-wearing passengers on board in the "New Normal"
Face masks must be worn at all time on board unless there is a loss of cabin pressure, and no more than two people can queue for the toilet at one time.
On post-lockdown Ryanair, there is inflight catering on board, but no hot drink service.
The security check at East Midlands takes minutes and there are no queues to take off.
Also there is now no quarantine on return to the UK as Tenerife is part of Spain and there are 'air bridges' in place.
There were no delays when we landed at Tenerife South Airport, I had my QR code at the ready and all the temperature checks were automated.
It was brilliant to be back in the air again safely, soon the skies will be busy once more with people taking their Summer Holidays in the 'new normal'

This has made my day. Just come back from 4 days camping (decent weather and pretty good trip to be fair), loading, unloading, washing up and showers all round. So sitting down with a cuppa and watching you arrive in paradise island has cheered me up.

I agree with you Lee, the drop off charge is ridiculous. I think they were starting it at Manchester too last time we went abroad in 2018. I`m surprised only a few places to eat open, as they have said cafe`s can open just have safe distancing measures put it, maybe it won`t be cost affective for them though if they did open, although the airport does look like there was plenty of people about. Great for you meeting Andrew. Love your Boris Johnson impersonation, hahaha. Great video. x

Great video, we had partying on the plane 22:47, and we even had a marriage proposal 🤣👍🏻. I cracked up at that guy getting told to pipe down by his Mrs when he was doing the shoutout on the plane! Holiday mode in full effect, love it!

Now british autorities have said all people that return from Canary Islands have to pass to quarantine. 14 days. That will kill economy at the Islands because nobody goes to travel there. Here in Canary Islands we have a trouble with it because virus numbers here are controlled in a low level. Less that in England and other territories in Spain. We hope your minister let people travel without quarantine.

i agree totally, it is 3 months after the initial outbreak here in spain and we still have to wear these stupid masks on buses and trains and all shops PLUS from yesterday we have to wear masks all the time when outside (which im not about to do). It is totally stupid.
Exactly, thought he looked rather red faced a lot of the time, struggling in the mask to breath in the heat.
Thing is this is pretty much on the first day that the travel restrictions have eased. There's going to me much more of a buzz once holiday season kicks in.

It's amazing how althrough the airport you had to keep your distance. But once on the plane your just a few inches away for the people in front. So it show that Ryanair don't give a shit!
A computer loads the plane for centre of gravity safety any other airline would be the same wants the alternative? Just like in the car touching each other. All farcical
Except it is a scientific fact that you cannot socially distance on a plane...I mean, there's no real evidence for it, but it is a scientific fact.
How would you like us to socially distance on a plane full of passengers? Not possible and would take up too much time!
@@CharlieAlphaLimaa In a normal situation I do agree with you. But MacMaster says that this flight was about half full. So they could have moved people around to help keep people apart as much as poss. Don't you think the crew could have tried a bit better?
@@sunseeker8457 I am Cabin crew myself, unfortunately we run a strick departure and turnaround. Usually if the flight is empty passengers move themselves about mid flight. The only case where we have to socially distance a passenger would be when they are unable to wear a face mask.

I just found the channel and my family go to Tenerife every year for Christmas and have been going since the age of 3. I have additional needs and it’s like to rountie that I need every year. I was scared this year as I find changed really hard but your video really helped thank you.

Many people carry without symptoms, you are contagious before symptoms show and the symptoms vary . So you can not rely on temperature. England has one of worst infection and death rates in the world. Scotland has been much better.

I'm going to pay a bit more to not fly with RYR in the future - when the 'corona' started, they said 'we will survive, we have the most funds of any European airline'. Over 6 months later, they've still not refunded my cancelled flights...
At least Ryanair are flying, Jet 2 keep letting people book then kee cancelling the flights!

You sounded out of breath wearing that nappy on your face, lack of oxygen. I will not go anywhere if you have to wear a face nappy. Sometimes it was difficult to understand what you were saying through the nappy too. When you went through security did they check your face nappy for hidden weapons?? ? Anyway, have a great time 😜🤪.
David Prescott sounds like someone is a little against wearing a 'face nappy'..... it's only for a few hours on a flight, helps everyone feel safer, we all get to travel again and it keeps the authorities happy.
I returned from Faro on Tuesday and can say that having to wear a face covering at the airport and onboard the plane is a very small price to pay in order for me to get away for a week in the sun.

It’s such a pity how this virus has wrecked social interaction and I’m looking forward to the time we don’t need masks and the airport “experience” gets back to normal. I could feel the heat and the smell of Tenerife when you got off the plane.
