Don't Go Chasing Shadows

The oldest member of our choir, George Shemwell, was born in Merthyr Tydfil and the Aberfan disaster is very meaningful to him and to those in that area. Edward-Rhys Harry wrote a song that echoes the feelings of many about the Aberfan disaster; it is called "Don't Go Chasing Shadows". It is a song that means much to George. He has sung it before. Never has he sung it with such poignacy, such emotion as he did at this concert. Everyone in the church was capivated by the song and by the emotion in the singing and there were many tears shed. George received a lengthy standing ovation and that really was well deserved. The right song, the right place and the right time!
