Dr. Wily's Revenge might not be the longest game in the world since we're already at the next to final vid, but these fortress stages do pack a lot inside that it almost feels like they're multiple stages' worth of trouble!
And they definitely bring end game difficulty to the dance as well as Wily Base features multiple ambushes, spike drops, and a few tricks you might not be ready for to try and pick our hero off or make sure he's whittled down enough by the time we reach the end of this one. It's a long journey, but that's why we've got special weapons as they'll come in handy early and often. Well, I guess in Carry's case, you could say it'll come in footy, but that's not really a word that makes sense other than a pun. Therefore, I appreciate the pun and the transport tool. Thanks, Carry!
At the end, we're greeted with familiar teleporters. Yes, it's time for the refigh... Wait a minute. I wasn't expecting that even though we played this game years ago! After that surprise, it's on to the original Mega Man Killer (That's what the MK in MKN-001 stands for!) whose name is based off of Japanese style of folk music, Enka. Anyway, Enker's room makes it very tough to dodge his movements thanks to not knowing which of the three he'll use. Every shot counts, but make sure you're ready to dodge if you land enough per round. Those counterattacks get big!
What?! Where are you going, Wily?! Get back here! We've got a series to finish next time, you jerk!
Interesting how it messes around with fortress conventions here, especially by having "refights" against bosses that hadn't appeared in the game before and giving you five new weapons.
Yeah. It was an odd decision since you'll only get those weapons for the fights at the end here and all of one level after.
The sound of Wily’s ship always amuses me.

Why does it seem like the buster shots go up in the Enker fight?
That's because they are! Enker absorbs the energy from Mega Man's shots through that spear. That stored energy is then reflected back our way!
@@Bean1227 Sadly, it also damages him, and is the only way to give damage to our Special Spearman.
