Butters' parents are perfect for this list. Not only do they ground him for no reason whatsoever, but they also do horrible things to him like send him to conversion therapy camp because they assumed he was gay when he wasn't, sent him to a batshit insane "therapist" because they incorrectly assumed he was suffering DID Dissociative Identity Disorder due to catching him play make-believe, and then there was the time his own mom tried to drown him, with his dad being fine with it.
The fact that Butters would attempt to commit suicide rathher than get two weeks detention which would lead to him getting grounded is very disturbing. . .
Chris Stotch and Linda Stotch. First of all, Chris secretly did cheated on his wife for several months before their 9th or 10th anniversary of marriage. Second of all, Linda went completely insane after learned about her husband’s infidelity and decided to “kill her own son”, but luckily, Butters lived and unharmed. Third of all, both parents treated their son badly sometimes. “Butters, you are grounded!” LOL
I’m surprised they didn’t bring up the fact that Tweek’s parents mentally F’ed up Tweek by playing the role of a criminal pretending to be a cop in order to test him to see if he’d open his bedroom door for a stranger, then shooting an unloaded gun at him when he failed the test. “BANG! The Stotch parents are perhaps the craziest, and they creep me out with their unpredictable exaggerations. I know other parents can be scary at times, even Sheila Broflovski gets me scared with her "WHAT-WHAAAAAT!!!"
I'm surprised that Clyde's mom isn't on the list, especially since she decided to take it upon herself to blame her own son for her death during her final episode, essentially inflicting even greater trauma upon him than if she simply said goodbye. Also, Nathan's parents, since they would rather pretend to not understand their own son so they could go on vacation than actually tend to his needs. Top 6 is relatively fine, but replace Jimmy and Garrison's parents with Clyde and Nathan, and I think we'd be good. Also, I don't think it's right to include the parents of one-off characters on this list. Otherwise, we'd have a plethora of other parents that would be just as bad as number 7 if not worse, such as the agnostics. This would only be applicable to parents of reoccurring characters though, as we'd get to see where the kids themselves came from even if said parents only appear one time. I reckon the reason why the main five boys' parents all rank in the top five has more to do with the fact that you see them quite often compared to the rest of the cast. Honestly, replace number 7 with Towlie, because Towlie neglects his little washcloth quite often in favor of drugs and sex.

The best example off the top of my head was when Stan summoned him to understand why he was addicted to a freemium app and learned about how dopamine can affect the brain as a reward for doing fun or beneficial activities.

(Ok before any of you bring it up, I think the recent South Park games: “The Stick of Truth”, “The Fractured But Whole”, and “Snow Day” are semi-canonical, meaning that not everything in the games is canon to the show, but it’s worth bringing up)

Definitely Butters parents are the worst. If I had to pick a second parent I’m not crazy about is Sharon Marsh. Randy is selfish and over the top, but she appears to be the other extreme.
To me the worst parents are Butters’s parents, Randy, Sheila & Gerald & Kenny’s parents. We all know Lianne spoiled Cartman to no end since the beginning but in the later seasons she started putting her foot down & I think that makes up for it. As for Kenny’s parents, they do love their kids but they almost always neglected their kids & they’re always fighting in front of them & that’s not a healthy environment for their kids to live in
