It's so frustrating! Why doesn't the damn bird let go of the food and let the baby eat it? Instead they spend forever poking it in and grabbing it back out, in and out, in and out. FFS just put it in and let him swallow! I'm surprised any of the babies get enough to survive. Or that they keep opening their beaks for another try.
@@nevermind5321 Apparently a baby bird’s natural instinct to beg, is so powerful that it will beg and open it’s mouth even when it’s not very hungry. If the chick doesn’t swallow the food it’s given straight away, it’s probably not very hungry, so the mother switches to another hungrier chick. I haven’t suddenly become knowledgeable, I googled it! 😂
My cats watch these videos and chitter at them. They want to eat them. 🤓👍

Why do the parents repeatedly put the food in and out of the baby’s mouth before they finally feed them?
