Hi Jim Just wanted to drop u a quick message . I just worked u oct 7 at 23:35 UTC testing out a new key Elecraft sent me. The best part is I was on my living room couch At 2.8 watts to the whip !! Unbelievable to say the least Tnxs for ur great ears AA2PF…dit…dit…
@@WB0RLJ same one again…..I was out doing an activation the other day And after about 6 straight contacts my dashes were going intermittently on Me so called them and they sent me another so u were my first contact on It… got to return the faulty one for root cause analysis! I’m waiting a week to make sure this one doesn’t have any issues! Also ordered the key from N6ARA coming in as a backup . Again great working u Jim ! 73s…AA2PF…dit..dit…
I love 'em both for different reasons. 🙂 The audio on both is superb. On the KH1, I miss the QSK delay setting, but I'm getting used to full break-in. I wish the CW filter bandwidth was customizable on the KH1, or at least would go a bit narrower. There is no CAT control with the KH1. As said before, the sidetone leaves a lot to be desired. With all of that said, though, I'd use either in a heartbeat! The complete KH1 kit is roughly half the size of the KX2 if we're talking just minimal kit. If I used it the way it was intended to be used (none of all the peripheral stuff I use) It would be the ideal size (hand-held) for hitting the biking or hiking trails. It really is a magical little rig! No regrets!
I've been wondering how to pair my KH1 and Adventure Dual. I don't know if the 3.5mm jack on the radio could take the weight. Hopefully Begali are working on it right now. 72 de G0TRT
Hello, Cie! I've been wondering the same thing. If you have a KH1, have a look at the left/right sides near where the kay plugs in. It almost looks like there are little catches to more solidly mount a key to the radio body. But I agree with you that the Adventure might be too much weight and bulk. I'm still looking for a better key that will use the jack and enable the rig to be used as intended - one hand-held unit.
thanks Jim 73
