My exam was near at home and I was finding how I could solve this fraction conversion calculator. You have saved me a lot of time for my mcqs. Thanks a lot, it was hugely beneficial for me.
Thanks bro, I was having the same problem with the conversion of decimal numbers less than 0 in my calc, And I was seeing this video 2hrs b4 my exams😅.
That is the precision level. The author chose to have a precision of 6 (it is usually a good approximation and is kind of standard) i.e., 6 fractional digits hence 2^6. You can choose any value from starting from 1. If you need a precision of n fractional digits (or bits) you can multiply and divide by 2^n.
@@sreekanth23989 Hello, I am kind of confused why its 2^6 here and not 10^6. Wasnt it supposed to be the base of the entire value which was in decimal? Or do I have to take the base of the result I need? Like binary in this case.
Multiply and divide by 16^2 Numerator will be 306D4 Write denominator as 16^2 = 8^2 X 4 Convert 306D4 to octal = 603324 Perform 603324÷4 in octal mode( 4 was in denominator) Ans will be 140665 Finally shift Dec point towards left by 2 places ( becoz of 8^2 in denominator) Final answer is 1406.65
Great video. I have just one question. Why did you raise the base to to the power of six? The fractional part of 72.43 has only two decimal places. Could you have raised it to 2^2 instead of 2^6 ?
Hi bro,is there any method in culculator convert binary to all ,oct to all ,hexa dec to all .plz if u know than make another video or any link or video .plz make me sure ,i am waiting..plz
IN MY OPINION YOU ARE RIGHT BECAUSE WHEN WE DIVIDE SUCCESSIVELY BY 2, I GET THE SAME RESULT101000. BUT WHEN I USE THE PUISSANCE OF 2 I GET 1001000, what is really THE PROBLEM
Multiply and divide by 9 powers. Numerator you need to convert that 9 power to base 4. For example 9^2 is 81 , convert 81 to base 4. Then multiply numerator with this number in base 4 mode only(important). Then convert the resultant base 4 number to base 9. Then shift the numerator with desired places based on power is 9 you choose.
Follow same procedure ignoring the negative sign. Finally take 2's compliment of answer to represent in negative. ruclips.net/video/85MRF8HjS4s/видео.htmlsi=7093_AAvxZbyeJkh
How can i convert decimal fractions?? Say i try to convert 12.45(base 10) to octal(base 8). My sharp calculator returns the value of 14, and the fraction is truncated. Why does this happen?
Multiply and divide 12.45 by 8^2. Only perform multiplication in numerator which gives 12.45*64 which is 796. Convert 796 to octal using calculator. Which Gives 1434. Now remember you had kept denomination 8^2 as it is, now that numerator is in octal system, division by 8^2 is shifting decimal point by 2 places to left. Which gives final answer 14.34 (approx) in octal.
sir how we come to know in fractional part which number we multiply and dived like u do in 1 and 2 question 2^6 and in hexa 16^2 why?.....please ans me who know
It's based on the number of digits in the fraction part you need ( accuracy). If you need 3 digits in fractional part for Ex . 1011.101 then Use power 3.
in (2^n) the value of n indicates the digits required on right of the decimal point. if you choose 2^7 you get precision of 7 digits to the right of decimal point.
for systems other then decimal number systems you can't convert directly. for example lets take (1406.65) in octal first multiply and divide by 8^3 you will get 1406650 in numerator convert numerator to octal... you will get 60DA8 in numerator write 8^3 in denominator as 16^2 x 2 now divide 60DA8 by 2(which is in denominator) you will get 306D4 as there is 16^2 in denominator shift numerator point by 2 places towards left final answer is (306.D4) in Hex you can check this in one of the comments its the same thing.
Multiply and divide by 2^6 ...... We get 20484 in numerator and 2^6 in denominator... Conver numerator 20484 to binary using calc... We get 101000000000100 in numerator and 2^6 is still there in denominator... Finally shift 6 places to left hence final answer is 101000000.000100

How should I know what power should use over 2?
Depends on the number of fractional places you need. If you need upto 3 digits in fractional part (for Ex : 1010.101) then use power 3. And so on.

How did you figure it out that you have to multiply and divide by 2^6? @10:27 Is it going to be same for other math problems?
That is the precision level. The author chose to have a precision of 6 (it is usually a good approximation and is kind of standard) i.e., 6 fractional digits hence 2^6. how to convert hexadecimal to octal using this method ex: (306.D4)16 to ( )8
Multiply and divide by 16^2
Numerator will be 306D4
Write denominator as 16^2 = 8^2 X 4
Convert 306D4 to octal = 603324
Perform 603324÷4 in octal mode( 4 was in denominator)
Ans will be 140665
Finally shift Dec point towards left by 2 places ( becoz of 8^2 in denominator)

Great video. I have just one question. Why did you raise the base to to the power of six? The fractional part of 72.43 has only two decimal places. Could you have raised it to 2^2 instead of 2^6 ?
Depends on accuracy you need in binary fraction part. Raising by 2 will give less accuracy where as raising by 6 gives more accurate result.

Should it be 2^7?? BCoz, The binary value of 72 is 1001000, there're 7 digits in the left of decimal Point. Is it right or wrong?

Nice explanation 👍
Calculator part - 10:18
Why the conversation from binary to decimal is different from others. It should have been multiplied by 10, but you did it with 2 .why?
It's because the numerator now is in base 2. Hence by multiplying with 2 powers we can directly eliminate fraction part in numerator.
Why you negated the decimals at 11:13?
genius
Thank you
well thought of
I don't find the logic but brothers and sisters it's wotking

how do you convert octal to hexa? I tried but iam getting wrong answers.
for systems other then decimal number systems you can't convert directly. for example lets take (1406.65) in octal
first multiply and divide by 8^3 you will get 1406650 in numerator
convert numerator to octal... you will get 60DA8 in numerator
write 8^3 in denominator as 16^2 x 2
now divide 60DA8 by 2(which is in denominator) you will get 306D4
as there is 16^2 in denominator shift numerator point by 2 places towards left
final answer is (306.D4) in Hex
you can check this in one of the comments its the same thing.
