is it alright if i try out in vans? i don't have basketball shoes and i don't intend on getting some unless i make the team since this is my first year im planning to do basketball as a junior.

I just had tryouts today this is second day and I might have been cut from what the coach told me although I'm getting the email this night. If I do get cut, I lowkey have no idea why because in the 5v5s I did hustle, made long shots and layups which went it. I got all lay ups in and everything. They made us go to different sections with the 4 sections having all different drills. Which the seniors and juniors did which they were harder, but actually easier to understand and to do. So its technically not harder, the simple ones we did was so confusing and nobody got it. The coaches were just terrible at explaining things so If I get cut because of that then im switching schools fr fr.
@@tomspeed6026 At my group only 1 person was as good as me. All the others I've already played against before and the seniors. So I'm sure that I wasn't bad. I did make 2 bad passes but its not something that would cut me. At least I don't think so...
@@vanj80 yeah, but what about IN THE TRYOUTS, not before, were you blocking people? Were you locking in during defense, hustling, etc. if you didn’t do those things, then that why
@@tomspeed6026 yeah when I say before I mean during the tryouts and a day before it. I practice against them we got off-season workouts. Also yeah I was hustling a lot for the ball considering I got hit at the face with the elbow two times. Yeah I did run as hard as I can on the running drills. I stayed true to the laps since a lot of people I noticed said they did 12 or only 14 when we supposed to do 24 or 16. Although I could tell the coaches wasn’t paying attention since they never looked during drills only in games which kinda ticked me off but it’s all good. I was supposed to actually go to a thing where they offer you feedback after 24 hours but forgot to go. But it’s fine though since imma just make it next year since not getting in the team is not making me stop playing ball.
@@tomspeed6026 as for defense it could have been better, but I honestly could not show everything I got since drills was like 20 mins and I only went 2 times. The coach wants to see everybody so yeah. I’ll be honest I’m not the best blocker but I did block 1 time.

Maybe there are people that are better than you or maybe you didn’t pass as much, or something
