in Germany it's getting more and more popular but mostly the American games. I know the most QB from American teams but none of the German teams, not even from Germany.
The more players we get into college, the more we get to NFL, the more popular the game becomes. It is still a small sport, but getting bigger every year.
I started playing in 1988 Played college ball with Chad Johnson aka Ocho-Zinco and Steve Smith Sr in the late 90s! And some Swedish National Games! 6’7 - 250lbs TE who grew up playing Soccer, Tennis, Basketball etc Footwork is key Sweden, Germany and many Other European countries has had millions of supporters for decades! Huge sponsoring in the 90s from the U.S. helped a lot! The level of play has been stagnant for years though!
My Crimson Tide signed a kid outta Germany in the previous class, 6’3 230lbs Justin Okoronkwo. (#1 ‘24 overall recruit outta Europe) Was only on campus a few months before getting double digit tackles in the spring game. He had 5 tackles against Mizzou as well. Kid is gonna be a monster.
As Canadian that grew up playing football, it brings a smile to my face to see the game growing internationally. As for the big man touchdown, we call them "thick six".
@@Ned-RyersonAs long as the lineman isn't more than 2 yards (i think) from the line of scrimmage when the ball is thrown he can go and get the lateral. Otherwise he would have to report as an eligible receiver before the snap.
RIGHT..... it is so refreshing to watch these guys play. They come from a novist, independent, young mind perspective. Like watching women's college Bb. Much less Attitude.
Im a Texan. Im Black, German and French Norman. AND IM IN LOVE WITH SEEING THESE COUNTRIES PLAY AMERICAN FOOTBALL. I wish nothing but the best for these guys. Also, they look pretty good out there
You only need to give them a call and you get a jersey because it’s that small of an association. I had a few friends who were slim and unathletic playing for a few weeks and suddenly they were playing for the national team
So what do y'all call this game over there, because in the US, we call it football, but I'm pretty sure that name is already taken, in every other country?..
Also, I just wakt to add that the level of play is actually quite high... much better then I expected to see from countries without a tradition with the game. Very well done!!!
Particularly considering that all of these guys have to just be playing as a hobby and likely started in their later teens at the earliest. Since there's little to no youth programs, school programs, etc
I played military football with Sembach AB Tigers 1982-1983 in the Continential Sports Conference. Loved it. There were German/American teams that had a league back then. This is awesome!
Yeah, I remember the league as I read the Stars & Stripes as a kid over there. Bitburg Barons, Rheinmein Rockets, Ramsteine Rams, Spangdalem Chics etc.
👍🏻 I played for the Berlin Adler German American Football team from 84-88. We won the national championship in 1987 and played in the Euro Championship the following year. Good times 🏈
I was in Germany from 1981-1993. I remember the USAF teams back then. My last assignment was in Schweinfurt. One of the guys from my office played on the Schweinfurt Ball Bearings.
Awesome. I send much support. I am an avid European fan of NFL, but this fills me with enthusiasm. It looks good and it's great basis to grow further and further. The players look also good, which I deem as the biggest bottleneck - NFL players is simply the most pristine out of pristine athletes. But the players here look great, move great.
I love this game I use to play now I'm. In my early sixes it just puts a smile on my face I hope that the players in Europe enjoy the game as much as I do
Unlike how Europeans put the US down for still getting the hang of European football, we are excited to see Europe grow in American football. Its not just for us. Would be great to fly to Munich to watch the Seahawks play a German NFL team. Cant wait for that day.
This is Europe. This is how MLS started. During the MLS’ early seasons, players would take to the stands and thank - the few people in the stands - people for showing up. And to please come back. IFAF games look exciting to watch. I’m sure it will grow.
American here. This is great. Just smiling. The German team seems to have overall concept of the game down pat. They look no different from an American or Canadian squad.
Great way to expand the popularity of football, which is such a great sport. The more sports the better! Note to Sweden: kicks are very important in football!
TOUCHDOWN DE Deutschland! ❤❤. There are Very few people in the stands 😢. Here is hoping these fine athletes playing this awesome sport get more fans in the future.
This is awesome. In terms of the game, was also painful to watch, and I say this as a German, for the sake of the Swedes. Am I watching Brazil Germany 2014 World Cup? Feels like it LoL. Or am I watching a really cool and actually high quality international American football game of the future?
There is one already; it’s called the IFAF World Championship. Team USA won the most recent event nine years ago. It’s supposed to be held next year, but with a lack of interest from other countries, it’s unknown if it will happen.
The players are much smaller than the NFL players but their tackling is far better. The QBs both have credible arms. It also appears to be a much cleaner game.
As an American, seeing this fills me with joy. I really hope that this sport gets more popularity in Europe
in Germany it's getting more and more popular but mostly the American games. I know the most QB from American teams but none of the German teams, not even from Germany.
Hopefully not. Football will always be the number one over here.😉
Check out the European League of Football when you get a chance. The 2025 season is going to be the biggest yet!

hell yes! as a German-Swedish American whos life is football. I must say this is the coolest thing I have ever seen. :-)
This is the coolest thing you’ve ever seen?
Well if you've actually seen it, you were the only one. Looks like 0 people in the stands. I've never seen such an empty stadium.
Andy Richter is that you?
NOW THIS IS FOOTBALL! Feels and looks very authentic! I also appreciate their cleaner tackling forms.
JUCO tier ball.
First time watching an european football game. Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome Michael
you need to look at the european league of football

Smiling ear to ear watching this as an American. Hearing them use yards instead of meters is so interesting. It makes me proud of American culture.
Well, to be fair- 3.5 great countries use the Imperial system - The US - Myanmar, and Liberia (and kind of England sometimes)
Meanwhile we say “soccer” and they lose their minds 😂
@superslayerguy And soccer isn't even our term. It came from England, soccer was short for 'The Association.'
Seeing internation American Football is Amazing! Thanks!
You’re welcome
Wow, just wow, this is utterly amazing as an American. I would go to a game! Those German uniforms look awesome btw!
@@chikmnunget come visit the ELF for our new 2025 season!
@ I would love to! I never imagined taking a trip outside the USA and watching American football there😂 what a time to be alive.
there is a "professional" league in Poland for many many years.. However by "professional" it is more similar to high school football.
As Canadian that grew up playing football, it brings a smile to my face to see the game growing internationally. As for the big man touchdown, we call them "thick six".
I am 100% stealing that. Thank you.
@HayTatsuko you're welcome ;)
Yep, that’s a winner. Thank you Canada!
As an American, this is so cool to see.
This is awesome. Glad to see the sport growing. Very cool.
A "Hook & Ladder" play with the eligible OL for the TD was absolutely wild lol
Do you even have to be eligible if you do not receive the forward pass?
@@Ned-Ryerson yea you can get ineligible receiver downfield penalty

@@Stiffler206SiP In Sweden we call it Amerikansk Fotboll (American football). Fotboll (football) is your soccer which is the most popular sport here.
Give it time. They will come around.
Love the celebration on Germany's 3rd touchdown!
I love seeing this! They even have cheerleaders too. How cool! :)
Germany's defense is really good. Their players are clearly reading the plays and knowing exactly where the ball is going to be going and when

As an American football fan who doesn't speak a word of German, I love that I can still understand about 30% of what they are saying
German word x2 x3 "fumble"
This is sweet, love seeing the sport grow!
Fucking awesome!!!! 💪 🍻
Its funny because I can understand like half of what's being said without knowing any German. Love to see this!
Like when the Swedish punt was "geblocked"?
Same!
Pas mal cette équipe d'Allemagne ! Bon Quaterback et superbe équipe spéciale. Merci pour le visionnage
I hope the sport keeps growing in Germany and Europe, maybe one day we'll have a EU Division in the NFL :D
Germany reminds me of the 1985 Chicago Bears..very dominant team performance ! 🇩🇪💪🏻

As much as Europeans love turn based strategy games, I am surprised that American football isn't more popular.

This is so cool! Having lived in Germany, it's awesome to see them play football!
They’re learning!
I did not know this existed and im so glad i found it. Id really like to find a team now haha.
I like that 5th touchdown: the designed overlap and lateral to the tackle!
Excellent. Fun to watch. Keep up the good work over there!!

Some of these linemen have da biggest builds I’ve ever seen; The girth is making me cry with laughter😂
Seeing the German symbol on a football helmet is wild. Would love to go to one of these games. That’s a big Swedish boy in there 😂
I bet they serve great beer and food at the concession.
Well holy sheet I enjoyed watching this a lot!
My first game watching European football.
Special teams.2 blocked punts in 1st half. What a blow out.
This was fun to listen to--a string of German followed by old familiar football lingo. Our next visit, we're going to one of these games.
9:44 ist so toll!
This is cool!! We love this sport!!
It looks like Germany is in a different class. They are fun to watch.
As an American living in Sweden, I wanna be proud, but I just can't get over the announcer LOL this game reminds me of a JCO game
2:01 what a smart run by the running back

That German offense is very potent, defense is very good and the special team is special, this team can beat a lot of colleges in the US.
THEY PLAY FOOTBALL OVERSEAS?? YOOOOOO this is amazing news

Clearly.
I want to see a Teutonic cross for the German uniform and some kind of Viking logo for the Swedes
I love how the football terminology is English while the broadcast is in German or is it Swedish?
#13 for germany is a beast. ima call em the red barron

🏈 yes !
