Melted rubber coming from the crank pulley my friend. The inner and outer part of the pulley should be joined by a rubber cush but your has split. Get it welded in future! No need for a rubber cush on the mondeo crank pulley
Nice video, can you explain how to change V pulley. Do you have to pull down alternator or just loosen up? Is there some bolts on V pulley except one down on shock absorber or is there are more attached to engine. Alternator have 4 bolts, 2 down and 2 up. Can I just loosen and pull up V pulley?

The crankshaft pulley is produced from 2 metal parts that are connected together by a rubber part. The bond between the the rubber ring and the metal pulley had failed. This meant the two metal parts were turning at different speed and burning the rubber part between them.

That crank pulley is fabulous lol...... common issue they rattle when the damper is broken
