      Thank you! 35 here 🙋‍♀️ I think I actually posted a similar comment under someone elses a few weeks back saying those are the most laid back cops I've ever seen in my LIFE. I've been pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt, speeding, dead registration sticker... all harmless offenses that I am FULLY cooperative honest and respectful about the officers just doing their jobs even after getting my tickets.. This is some WILD behavior going on with the police as much as it is with the frat 😲

      Exactly my thoughts. 37, been aggressively cuffed for "talking back" at a cop. Locked up for hours just for speaking my mind😂 . I dont understand. Cops shoot and joke people, despite peoples cooperation and these farts just standing there obstructing the whole situation, with a BASEMENT full of young boys clearly too scared to talk. How does this make sense? 0 authority these cops had.

    • @daniwatkins8439
      @daniwatkins8439 8 days ago

      @whitneygeyevu9751 Yep. I never even talked back and I had one who threatened to cuff me for being to smiley ☺️ Not even joking! He took my nervous smile and laughter as disrespect to his authority and not taking the situation seriously. I was polite said yes sir no sir and genuinely scared because it was the first time I had been pulled over. He snapped at me "Wipe that smile off your face unless you want to be put in cuffs and see what jails about". I clearly caught that asshole on a bad day 😅. Whether they are in the right or wrong, it's still not a good idea to piss off the police. These turds walked all over them and made them look stupid 🫨 I don't get it 🤨

      I thought that was strange too. They were not being very assertive for cops especially not towards these immoral teens/ young men. They should have been more direct and agressive in the way they approached the situation. Clearly something messed up happened and since hazing is a crime and there was obvious evidence of that, they should have been demanding answers and threatening them with a misdimeanor charge.

Their objective as leaders isn't to serve anyone, it's to protect and profit their cronies - who are the other kids they went to school with. Hazing is all part of it.

      @patriciajohnson73691.) you don’t know where I am from. 2.) Felonious Restraint is felonious restraint anywhere. 3.) I would have been the parent suing the department for NOT doing what they should have to ensure the safety and well-being of my child. Their job is not to not interfere with the stupidity and brain-rot choices of this new generation. They had no idea what was going on and it was their duty to find out. This falls under whats called an exigent circumstance and there was A LOT that the officers could have done. At the same time, idk the reasons they had for why they didn’t do any of that. But I know they had every single right to do what I said, especially in Iowa, to find out what the crap was going on and if anyone was pulled into this, or kept in this idiocy beyond their will. It was the officers DUTY to figure it out and they had many tools at their disposal they absolutely could have used. Putting some of those dudes in handcuffs and in the backseat of a car for a few minutes while they figured it out is absolutely legal, and in my opinion probably should have been done. I am not trying to Monday morning quarterback these officers, even though I suppose thats exactly what I am doing. But if I were one of these officers and did what they did I would probably look back on this myself at those decisions I made and probably what I could have done better. Thats how good cops become good cops. They re-evaluate decisions they made after the fact and learn from it. I don’t think they were bad at all. Just probably could’ve done it better. A bad cop would have laughed at it and left. They didn’t do that. But one thing they coulda done better was assert their authority off the bat and made sure some of those guys knew that the police was now in charge and that they will move or be charged with at the very least obstruction of a lawful investigation. I am not wrong. This is Iowa. Not a third world country. We have very similar laws in every state regarding stuff like this. Kids these days are getting dumber and dumber with their choices.

Clearly this entire police department are intimidated by all powers connected to this institition. They not arresting anyone, bc that probably only leeds to Dads showing up with lawyers for their psychopath boys.
      They understand a collective crime is being committed but the moment they walk in, and the attitudes of the gus wearing shirts vs the silence of the boys without and the utter SQUALOR, and STILL no arrest of anyone refusing to answer questions, but everyone knows in the US you get arrested and possibly deported for not being a whyte frat boy. And you guys are even surprized about the pee edo scandals, the insane abuse entirely normalized by American men.

      They’re far from children! They’re adults, over 18, they’re adults. It’s those guys in that room who look between 14 to 16 years old. The guy in the white hoodie was an arrogant idiot and he had an attitude the minute he walked down those stairs, kept casually drinking his beer and sucking on his vape and acted like he’s above that officer. Of course they were lying and protecting their fraternity. But José, if that’s he’s real name, needed to be grabbed by his collar and put the fear in him. He sounded like he has laryngitis, he should lay off the vaping, it’s just as bad or worse than smoking cigarettes

      21 years old is not a child. The way these entitled sh heads act is psychopathic behavior. The one in the white sweatshirt is the ring leader. The way he blocks the door, lost his voice, and controls the police investigation by steping in the room is wild. They should have forced him to move and asked all the men being hazed separately what happened.

They basically questioned everybody under duress from the obviously hoarse voice leader. The cops, the pledges, the house dad, the frat brothers, the lieutenant -everybody failed this. Good on them for being suspended. At least the university did SOMETHING but arrests should have been made. I’m so annoyed.

      Arrest them for what? Just because you don’t like something, and I do like this either, is there a law to arrest them under? Breaking some college rules is not a criminal offense. College hazing was really terrible 50+ years ago. People actually died. I would bet that there has been some kind of rite of passage event since fraternities and sororities were first founded. I would bet that someone’s grandfather or great grandfather was once a member of the fraternity and had some stories to tell about hazing in their day and that gave these guys some ideas.

    • @AdnerbSnave

    • @wolfkanna9983
      @wolfkanna9983 Month ago +13

      @enid0mom Well, I did some research for you since this case is so peculiar. According to Newsweek and just by looking up Iowa law: "Hazing is strictly forbidden at the University of Iowa and is a misdemeanor under Iowa law."
      And as for consequences according to Newsweek and the university: "The fraternity was then formally suspended in May of 2025 for the next four academic years." And the weird dude Joseph Gaya, who wasn't even a student, got arrested but the charges were dropped.
      If these "rites of passage" aren't stated in the Fraternities/sororities Bylaws or I guess "rule book" and can't be categorized as a "for fun" event, then it can be placed under Hazing. Because how is someone to know if this was stated to them before hand or not just spur of the moment? No one died in this case because it was stopped, but who knows the mental states of these individuals? Someone at my university in the past few months just jumped off a bridge and he was part of one of these money grabs, so you never know!
