You can also harvest parts by going to the dump (L9), help the royals faction, it will unlock harvest parts operation, you can get various stuff not only parts, most desirable is gunpowder. Making your sector militia strong is a good way to harvest parts from enemy drops.
Wow, thank you for the nice comment! However, I'm already so happy and suprised about 200 followers! I didn't expect such positive feedback in any way and whether it's 100 last week or 200 today - I'm just happy to be of some help. I appreciate every single one of you guys :)
It's 'Scarce' not 'Scaaarce'. Mods have never been explained in-game, especially for those new to JA 3. I'm happy to have found your video explaining the modding process and your video was in-depth! Nice.
@@chr_isso Well I got about 3 from 2 fights in row in one game, but I don't like AUG that much in JA3 (it was the BEST gun in JA2 though - damage and range like sniper and low ap cost). Without UV-dot modification I much more like G36. It supports UV-dot and has same low ap cost (4 for single, 5 for burst), has the same long range (36) and has higher damage. Unfortunately it is just as rare (or rarer even) than AUG.
@@chr_isso that is very random. i got them somewhat early(my first was in prison) and a lot of them by now. But I have just the one dragunov that i bought for example and i am about to finish my game. M24 is cumbersome btw, so just some parts to craft on other weapons, scrap it and don't look back. Free move is everything in this game^^ Also the weather conditions in this game demand a thermal scope at elast on your sniper. It is not even a question for the primary weapon if you have the chip.
If you like overwatch, use Raven with machine gun (Minimi works best - not cumbersome and has wider cone). Not only she kills almost everyone in the cone, but those who survive are marked for crit damage :D
@@chr_isso Well that's what Larry is good foor (or Barry or any other high explosive merc). While you train militia he crafts ap ammo. You don't have to use it all the time though - most of the maps don't have fully armored enemies.
a galil is actually better for her, it can go up to 36 range, has a wide overwatch and doesnt burn ammo with its 3 round burst when you build a galil for overwatch its an excellent weapon to economically do the job
IMHO PSG1 is the best sniper gun - it isn't cumbersome (so you have free movement) and can attach devices (unlike Dragunov). Dragunov is best used on mercs with auto-weapon and use it as a precise burst weapon.
Why would you ever take the x5 or x10 scope in this game? The prism scope lets you shoot as aimed 3 times on the start of combat so you actually have AP to fire a second shot. The aimed x3 literally always hits it has like a 95%+ chance it feels like.
Does the quick prism scope really help with overwatch attacks? The description would seem to imply it only works on your turn. Also since an attack must be your first action it means you can't use your free movement with it. Seems like a rather limited item to me.
I’m not sure about overwatch, because my characters that use them are usually stealth killers that never engage in open combat even when the rest of the team is engaged. As far as the limit yes if you move first you don’t get the benefit however, as a sniper most the time you don’t have to move first especially if you’re hidden and hidden well before combat starts.
Thanks for the video. I like to ask is there any point making an ambidextrous dual weapon operator, and go for run and gun? And should he/she use two pistols, or two SMGs like Uzi? Thanks again.
I think only for the sake of it - and to have a little fun. Right now Pistols and SMGs are not the strongest weapons in the game. But with Meltdown (Ambidextrous + Recoil Management) it could be a fun build!
You can use them on some ambidextrous mercs, but they would probably work the best for Vicky (she has a trait that gives bonus bullet damage for fully modded gun, so burst with dual Uzis is highly damaging).
From the patchnotes: "Fixed a bug with Machine guns interrupt attacks getting aim bonuses when they shouldn’t" and i think was wasnt just the case with machine guns!
It's only me, but I find M24 quite useless? Being "cumbersome" makes it only useful for "stationary snipers". OK has decent firepower and range, but movement and having a lot of AP in JA3 is must. Much prefer M14 as a early - mid-game sniper rifle. Versatile, with decent stats it is one of the most useful weapons in the game (interestingly opposite to the real combat history).
i wouldnt say useless, but you can't use it as good as the PSG or Dragunov. I liked it in my playthroughs however as you said: stationary. I wouldn't say movement is a must but it helps a lot. But you can also totally own with a few stationary snipers.
If you have a Merc with high marksmanship, you can go for Quick Prism Scope: Reason is, you can easily hit the head with only 3 aim levels (first shot) and this allows for at least two shots with a sniper rifle. But: You need to plan ahead because you are not allowed to move before shooting (first action must be a shot). If your merc does not have too good marksmanship, you'll be better off with an additional aim level for increased accuracy bonus from the Sniper Scope x10.
It is so stupid that you can't attach and detach weapon accessories. The developers should be ashamed of themselves. JA2 had a perfectly fine system in place.
100% agreed! I'm pretty sure that the upcoming patch (mods) will allow us to change this. If there's no mod for this within 2 month after patch release, I'll do it myself!
That remote scrap tip was golden! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!

Sehr interessant und wichtig. Thx!

AUG is also a nice alternative to sniper gun. It has a really high aiming bonus per aim level.
you also get the aug very late and just in few amounts. i only found 1!!

minimi is very nice vs regular enemys. but vs armored targets its very low damage. hkn have higher piercing power

yeah but you only get it so late and until then, the rules from dragunov or m24 already apply.

Gern, hoffe es war hilfreich!
if you plan your battle well one Overwatch sniper with Killzone can kill easy 3 enemy in one turn.
Yeah but your MERC needs to be leveled up a bit to get the Perk. Anyway there are some huuuge Perks once the mercs are leveled up.
Great video!
Thanks!

There are 2 more nice snipers PSG1 and .50 CAL, hard to find but they are there
Yeah, but I didn't have those when I made the video lol.
And the same rules more or less apply to them as well.
Are you sure about Quick prism scope and overwatch ?
I would have to check the code for it or make another test, same situation, different setups. but it's pretty hard thing to do!
is it confirmed that the quick prism scope works with overwatch?
