Great piece of physical theatre DV8 are fast becoming one of my fave choreographers! I do tend to look at there work when i do "twisted" or "dark" peices of work! :)
I also believe he was gay, hence the not looking and doing his own dance while the others are cat calling. (and the weird getting close verging on harassment bit oof)
Oh. My. Fucking. God. That. Was. Unfathomably. Amazing. And oh my god how was that only five minutes - so i just analysed all of it becuase it was way way way too incrediable and profuse with intent not to do so - and only shit - thats taken literal hours - but i am mesmerised truly - i did not even know DV8 until about a week ago - and my life will be forever changed - Lloyd Newson is an extraterrestial becuase this shit is fucking other wordly it's so unexsistent and awakening. GOD DAMN!
@meinnnit I have done choreography baised on love but i tend to be inspired by Martha Graham and JaQuel Knight when i do that because it is a more "normal" style if you get me? Like when i do comedy/ strong story baised choreography i am inspired by Bob Fosse and Fred Gaston. but every now and then it is good to mix it about and try new choreographic devices to other themes.
I have three DV8 videos and they are the TREASURE of my collection. Pure imagistic genius.
