Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis are great shows. I would have to say Atlantis is my personal favorite.
I miss Stargate so bad. They need to make another show. We're still here. Waiting.

@@TheOnlyCollection What movie? The plans for the Atlantis movie got cancelled after Stargate Universe was cancelled and the planned movie reboot has been abandoned by Roland Emmerich last I heard.

That's cool and all, but this is your daily reminder that Flannigan ACTIVELY tried to buy his show in order to continue it.
Just so we all understand how cool a person he is.
That sad thing is he couldn't due to all of the legal hamstrings of MGM's financial problems. Aside from that, the SG franchise never had a proper video game released. Stargate Worlds was pretty close but the game studio developing the game went bankrupt.

@@hawkeye5955 It wasn't solely MGM, Roland Emmerich wanted the TV franchise totally dead at the time so he and Dan Devlin could make a new set of Stargate Movies. MGM choose Emmerich over Flannigan. Now that those two have finally abandoned the franchise, Wright can do some magic with a new TV series.
That is one fact that always crushes me when I think about what could’ve been for Atlantis... I hope he gets to play the character again some day soon.

Much more humorous! The nagging between Sheppard and McKay and a lot more. Such a great atmosphere (no joke intended), sometimes like kindergarden for adults, at the same time literally deadly serious.
It became like checking in on your crazy friends😄 when you sank down in the couch! 😂

Sgu was defo great in it's own way. You cant really compair it to sg1 or sga as it wasn't designed to be the same.they were trying something new to expand there audience which unfortunately didn't work.
I had such a crush on him. I wish the show had had a longer run. When that series started I was so terrified by the wraith! Good times.

see i'm the opposite, i admired the wraith costumes and make up's, commended those actors for their ability to wear all that plastic and silicon on their face, scary contacts, very scary looking teeth that are hard to deliver lines through...i wish i had the opportunity to play at being a wraith queen. I think it could be so much fun. I would do almost anything to just be apart of creating stargate, the show seriously has been for me, the most realistic and honest piece of propaganda that exists. Too many times I find myself referring to stargate to bring a point to focus when in conversations about life in general. I was told by military family and friends alike that this tv show, star wars, and star trek is pretty much the reality that exists outside us watching tv and being distracted working jobs, raising families, secret space program stuff goes un noticed mostly. I see things every night in the sky and my wonder just expands and expands. Can't get enough stargate! I got a huge crush on the whole darn concept and it's never fading away.

As I’ve said before Atlantis was a great carry on from SG1. It was just a shame it wasn’t as long as SG-1 with The likeable characters
Agreed. I really hated that they canceled Atlantis just to do Universe. Like, they couldn't have done both at the same time? I did like the idea of Universe but I also just lost interest during the first season.
@@Caitlin1928 Well, Atlantis was a fun show that had hired previously established actors like Jason Momoa, Robert Picardo, and Amanda Tapping to do cool sci-fi stuff, but they really needed a show with no-names doing dumb SJW stuff.
Don't get me wrong, Robert Carlyle and guest appearances from the SG1 cast carried the good episodes, but the show didn't pick up until it already ruined itself, then it got the shitcan along with the whole expired "syfy" network. I would say on to bigger and better things... but things have only sucked more since then...
@@Nesseight Atlantis didn't establish Robert Picardo and Amanda Tapping in the sci-fi genre. Star Trek Voyager and SG1 predate Atlantis

SG:A was amazing for many reasons.
First, SG:1 was actively working towards finding Atlantis through many many seasons, so the lead up was great and it wasn't an unexpected surprise show. It felt like a true continuation.
Second, the choice of cast was amazing, they were totally in the "Stargate spirit" and Joe Flanigan is the perfect example, who tried to bring the show back after it got cancelled.
And last, they didn't try to break the mold SG1 enstablished, they just continued the great episodes with even better CGI, technology and a much wider universe.
Talking about Universe... It's such a shame they cancelled Atlantis to make that show. It felt nothing like a Stargate series, more like a bad soap opera series with bad characters / cast.
Instead of slowly building up the characters and the whole new environment, we were bombarded with lots of unknown characters who we felt no attachment, and lots of forced drama.
I love StarGate Atlantis I love Joe Flanigan. Torri Higginson and Rachel Luttrell I need to watch StarGate Atlantis from the start
I just did it over the last two months, it was very satisfying. But i'm still sad about the fact that they canceled it for SGU. :(
I love everyone and every thing .. they are all great together .the chemistry ..even Woolsey .. It Ended way too soon ..
Flanigan is a very natural fella. Smart and articulate.
This brought me to tears... I want Stargate back so bad! Preferably not a new show, bring back either Atlantis or Universe (ideally Atlantis).

It would be nice, but they had to create a DARK SG even then (SGU) because everything had to have BSG treatment. Now good luck not making it woke. The humor/optiism of SG1/SGA were of the times. Not sure they would translate to now.
@@Scottlp2 Too true, I guess often the success of things is dependent upon the contemporary aspect .. I do, however, find myself liking ST Discovery more and more as I watch; I went in with both barrels loaded, but something the lead character said on an episode was so passionately Starfleet in philosophy, I thought, it sold me on the show. All that to say, I think a new SG - if also respectful to the history of its franchise - could be a good thing. COULD be :)
@@ApostleOfPeace 2nd season STD is frequently pretty good. Love to see a series with Anson mount, number one and the irascible engineer. If only jar jar burnham could have an accident. I'd love to see more stargate and hope they'd put in some SG humor (unlike SGU which was pretty good for what it was, but mostly humorless).

Just re-watched All the shows and still love em. Great job, Joe & co. Atlantis is really the gem amongst them. I just wish the shows were available on a streaming platform globally. Come on, MGM.
I really don't want to get physical discs, but seems like I have to now. I tend to re-watch them every few years.

new fan here! just came off the sg1 binge of all 10 seasons and jumping into atlantis on amazon prime. i'm in season 3 and am LOVING it. i had some worries in the beginning but i love how they stand on their own two feet with their own unique characters and storytelling. FLAnigan is great! going to peruse thru more interviews now!

Right on JOE! Love Stargate series so much, I long to go off world. I believe most of what is in this show is true to the hidden reality that 'cmon now.... most of us are totally curious about and interested in. I do not think we're alone and these performances to propagandize these ideas into our minds were extremely well done, so much love by the crew and cast alike to bring a very realistic world for us to participate in as audience members. So well done. I feel people will refer to these shows in days ahead as we get closer to disclosure :) Blessings to all who brought us this amazing tv show, miss it so much.
I'm doing right now marathon of sg-1 and all that just because I wanted to watch Atlantis again 😅 I just wanted to get proper "introduction" to it...

One of my favorites actors/characters. I really hope he is seeking treatment for rhinophyma or whatever may be causing his sinus/nasal issue. So many men let themselves go untreated thinking they are "just getting older" until the damage is irreversible

For the first episode of sga I loved it. It immediately had good balance of humor and action. Really liked the chair scene. "What are the chances me having the same gene's as the..." and then activates the chair. 😂 Really liked the character. 😋

I loved all the Stargate shows. Well almost lol. Didnt get into the cartoon but I even loved the original movie but the actors on the show suited the roles far better then the movie equivalents aside from the ones that continued their roles.

I really miss those days were I was excited for the next SG1, SG Atlantis or SG Universe show episode.. ...oh man those were the good times. Ps Joe Flanigan was perfect for this part as John Sheppard. And credit to him for trying to save the show. I have spoken :-)

I miss this show more than SG1 (sorry Michael Shanks, you’re still my favourite). The writers listened to what the audience responded to & that’s something SG1 never did. The chemistry between the whole extended cast was a once in a lifetime find & I loved the “secondary” characters like Carson, Radek & Lorne as much as anyone else outside the 4-man Gate Team. SG1 really stopped listening to the fans in the last few seasons & it went downhill. It certainly wasn’t the fault of the phenomenal actors being added to SG1, it was the sense that not even the show’s established main characters seemed to care what happened to the SG1 team & that had to be a reflection of the show runners
considering we now have so much more knowledge on exoplanets，there are so many story waiting to be told…we need new Stargate！

I wish Atlantis had more time to do a extra season. I miss it.
I wish we had gotten more of Atlantis and Universe. There was some good ideas in universe as well. I should watch the second season again because I dont remember it well but it did have an interesting take on the universe near the end. I wanted to see more on that.

TV isn't the same all these years without any Stargate.
I would have loved to see more seasons of Atlantis, and especially Universe. I feel they were cut off far too soon especially with what they could’ve explored such as what was briefly brought up within the comics.

They understood that the show stands and falls with the quality of its ensemble and the writing for them. Without that lesson from SG-1's success, both would've just been some action series set in space.

God I miss Atlantis. It really did build on SG1 and it could have easily ran 10 years too. They didn't need to stop it to concentrate on Universe. Plus, if they hadn't stopped it they would've had something that appeals to people that SGU didn't. SGA could have ran even past SGU's failure, or propped it up long enough to keep it going as well.

Have to say that im still pissed off that Atlantis got cancelled. Also if Uncharted movie had been done some 10 years ago when it was first planned, I still think Joe would have been perfect for the role of Nathan Drake...now unfortunately he is too old for it.
