i hate these types of parents a lot they're way too overprotective, just a question WHAT did they actually do when they were young like us? their parents told the same? i don't think so. every parent should understand that they can't manipulate kids like this too much or they became really rebellious, i know it from my experience

From growing up with a parent like this it becomes a what’s the point of telling you the truth if you act like this anyway. Or in my personal predicament “what’s the point of telling the truth when you keep beating me more and more and only stop when I make up a lie which is what you want to hear?”
Better to try and hide stuff and have fun than to tell the truth just to be lonely and miserable your whole life and never get to actually do anything than stay home cleaning or watching Netflix. And I wasn’t even in to parties, drinking, bringing friends over, or drugs. I just wanted to watch Anime, read, and listen to music and I still got beat just from doing those things, what’s the point of trusting your parents when you can’t and nothing you do is ever good enough, even as an adult.

She needs to get over it. You are old enough now that you should be thinking about dating and preparing for the future. Speaking as a mum. I have a daughter who is turning 18 in a couple of months. She is allowed to date now, but is choosing not to. She would rather be celibate. If you don't want to spend your life celibate, I would tell her that you are an adult and it's time for you to meet people and to date if you so choose.

“Strict mom” really isn’t that strict here. Dialogue is important when birth control gets brought into the mix, and BC is definitely not the first solution to skin care.

People of both genders get married without their parents approving. That doesn’t make the parent “strict”.
The fact that the girl can do so much without her mom knowing and then the mom being concerned about her teenagers life is not the definition of “strict”.

I would more so go with how has she NOT had it when she has clearly hit pubert because well tata's. However really because it's a re-enactment is she based on her younger self where she is still in early stages of puberty but obviously we can't tell. We do need the age like stated really.
If it's the case of because of being a re-enactment she still might be fairly young to not have hit puberty full on yet. Some people don't get their period till later in their teens and they are lucky in that sense. My mum didn't get her's till she was 18 where I got mine at 12

I dont think that your mom is strict, she just cares about you. When we are young, we think our parents are always overeacting and being unreasonable, but it is better to have someone that loves you and care for you, than have parents whom just ignored you and let you do whatever you want, even if that could hurt you. Parents are not perfect, but some of them are really trying to give us the best they can, that includes to give guidance and rules.

This is the true definition of a toxic mom. She just pushes her daughter farther and farther away.
She doesn't get an A+, but she's not toxic. Not by a long shot!
It doesn't look or feel like it from the daughter's perspective, but there's nothing toxic about being concerned about her child's health and safety, peer influences, or holding her accountable (eg, cleaning up her own dishes, lying). That's actually being a responsible parent. She's doing her job! ESPECIALLY if the daughter isn't even old enough to have had a period yet!
For sure, the mother could work on her delivery, but she's doing what a parent is supposed to do.
Parents have been kids, and they are adults. Whether you believe it or not, whether you like it or not, they do actually know more than you. About a lot of things.
There are, unfortunately, toxic parents. This isn't one of them. She's a tad unpleasant, but she's not toxic.
This reminds me of my son's ex-gf's mom, omg she used to drive me insane because she was convinced they were having sex. I told her over and over my is not like that, I raised him better than that, and trust me I have talks with him very very often about things like that as we have a very open relationship. His new GF's mom is more like me, she knows it's going to happen, they are both 18 so we can't really stop them, we just have asked them both to use protection if they do have sex. They both told us they aren't ready to take their relationship to that level but we sure made sure they had a whole box of condoms this past weekend for their senior prom. It backfired because they blew the condoms up and attacked us with them. So instead of having condoms we had balloons all over the living room. Teenagers are such a blast!! (Yes that's sarcasm for anyone wondering)

I swear this is every mom ever! Like leave him alone! They do this and pretend like they are “just getting to know him” when they practically give a freaking job interview. It is so annoying. It’s like can you not bombard with questions? Its like I know you want the best, but you don’t bombard someone with questions the first time you meet them and make them feel uncomfortable.
