So glad you reviewed these, I’ve been a furls and Prym hook user and I’m loving the look of these, compared to what the furls cost these are good value, I can’t wait to order them. I’ve had carpel tunnel surgery and have rheumatoid arthritis in my hands and I find I can crochet for longer with the furls style as they just rest in the palm of my hand.
I am so glad to see this review. This hook set caught my eye on Temu because they're just pretty. I didn't order them because I'm not a fan of Furls hooks, mainly because I have tiny hands and also I thought they would be heavy and cause hand fatigue. Also I find I'm better with a tapered hook. However, if I could justify the cost I think they would be pretty just as a decoration. 😊 P. S. When those hooks first appeared on the site they were $45 but went up to $50 a few days later.
I’ve been admiring these hooks for a while now. They are absolutely mouthwatering. I know my crocheting style and I know that they are probably not going to be comfortable because I tend to hold my hook close to the working end; I don’t care for the Prym hooks for this reason. Not to mention that I have had carpal tunnel surgery in my right hand (I am right handed) and get fatigued with heavy hooks. But wow they’re pretty!
OMG...I saw your review and immediately used your discount code to order me a set. I am over the moon with how wonderful this set is to crochet with!! I also found a similar Tunisian hook set that I quickly ordered-- thanks for your excellent, in-depth review! The price of these hooks allowed me to gift a set to my favorite young crocheting friend! She's been struggling with finding a good set of hooks that won't tire her hands out. She liked my Furls hook, but not the price. I'm making her 12th day if Christmas extra special!
@@SpiffyHandmade I'm working on my second baby blanket with the hooks. As soon as I can get more sets, I plan to order them. My husband asked me how many hooks I needed, since I only have two hands. I told him I need "all the hooks," and if he wanted to continue this discussion, we need to talk about the 6 solid state hard drives he has in his computer....he changed up his thoughts to-- "Yes, baby, you need all the hooks!!!"
Great review. I'm sure you popped up because I had looked at the set. I'm an in-line person so now I know to stick with the Furls. I do like the deeper cut in the Temu hooks and wish the Furls were more like that. Again, thank you!
I LOVE my Furls. First the Odyssey hooks, and now the Streamline Metal. My worry is that I might travel and lose one, and never be able to replace it, esp the Odysseys. Good to know that there's a reasonably priced facsimile.
This video needs more traction…..the Furls are absolutely beautiful and I love mine but this is a GREAT alternative considering price tag and similarity
Love your video, I believe the missing paint on the tip is from the machine holding the hook while they anodize the metal(I believe that’s what it is called)coloring the metal. Oh and maybe you could slide your pattern in that pocket as well looks like the perfect size.
They look like the Furls....wow. Can only use Furls Resin hooks. The metal ones slide out of my hand to easily. Temu has great stuff. Bought some ergonomic ones which look like Tulip Etimo. They were in black with dark blue metal. Very, very nice. But I tried the original Tulip etimo and IT IS smoother to work with. But only a fraction. I like Temu.
Thanks for sharing your review. I spent $26 on a furls metal hook because I couldn’t find a decent metal 6.5 & up that wasn’t plastic. I despise plastic hooks. My favorite are the clover hooks and I really wish they would come out with larger metal hooks. Furls are just way too heavy for me. I used mine for a total of two minutes before my wrist gave out, lol.
Yes, I agree. Metal hooks in larger sizes would be great. Problem is the weight. Aluminum is light though so it would be nice to have a clover metal hook head with a lighter bottom like the ones they have on the plastic ones. I wonder why that hasn’t been a thought from that company!!
I bought some of the metal ones from furls and I’m still waiting for them to be delivered. Bit ticked off with the shipping after paying the extra for express. These look like a great alternative. I might have to have a look!!
I might get them just because they're pretty & they have a 7! I've been looking for a 7 for months. I would be interested to see it the coloring wears off after working a full project. I had a set that did that & now they feel scratchy when I'm using them.
That is what I would be worried about the paint coming off. Otherwise this was a great review I have been looking at the curls but they are so expensive. I may have to get these instead.
Hi Debra! Made a video a while back of my favorite hooks. You can find it here. My Favorite Hooks and Grip! ruclips.net/video/LH9QOlVQKZ4/видео.html One of the ones that I forgot to add is the dots crochet hook set from we crochet. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this, Denise! My favorite thing about my Furls Metal is the weight… they all range from 2.1-2.4. I may try to see if I can find a single one on Temu to try. Where did you get that hook stand? I would love to have that for my Furls.❤
@@jessicaragland5703 you can purchase these hook stands pretty much anywhere anymore. I do believe they even sell them at Walmart. I got these on Amazon. This is where I purchased them. a.co/d/cQBo6N0
@ Thanks!😊 I’ had to edit my previous comment … I have used tapered before; I started my crochet journey w/ Boye but they’re the last ones I reach for nowadays unless I don’t have the size in an inline😅
I hate in-line hooks. I find they are harder to get through stitches, I also have a tighter stitch when I crochet. I’ve never bought off temu, concerned about my info…but I might make an exception for this…
Not trying to be negative, it’s a beautiful set! But, am I the only one who worries about what the lead content may be and if it would be harmful to use? They look so nice, I wish my mind didn’t work the way it does some times!
@@AmandaGetsCreative The product descriptions says aluminum, and I do believe it. If they were lead, they would be too heavy for me to hold. I understand your worries but I am sure these aren’t made of lead.

It's not one full mm or 2 difference. It is 0.2 or 0.1 mm difference between the hook size printed and your measuring.
