This has apparently just been discovered. Someone who has the right connections has just sent me it. It's not on RUclips so here it is. Anyone who's a fan seen this before?

This is the original UFO at the Blarney Club on Tottenham Court Road before they moved to the Roundhouse. FYI, this was recorded just before a Pink Floyd performance and they are playing the Floyd's instruments - Robert on Nick Mason's double-bass Premier kit, Kevin with Roger Water's Rickenbacker bass, and Mike on Rick Wright's Farfisa duo compact.

I love the Soft Machine and Gong. It's a shame Daevid Allen got kicked out of Britain. It would have been cool to hear him on a full length album with the Soft Machine.

he's doing a straight take on the US Beat poets of the 1950s: The anger and politics. It was quite a scene around Greenwich Village NYC, and North Beach, SF, after the war. As a young man in Australia, he obviously picked up on it. He even affects a bit of an American accent.
In the early to mid 60s Allen was gravitating to, and connecting with the likes of William S Burroughs, in Paris, where the main Beats were hanging out by then. He also had a 'pass' to the Deya scene in Majorca, partying with Robert Graves and the bohemian elite. About 1964 or 66, all the main beats do a big gig at the Albert Hall. It's a cultural landmark. I don't think Allen was there in person, but he was there in spirit. Allen was over a decade older than the freak scene people of UK, but due to his affectation of Beat aesthetics, he was ahead of them, and easily transitioned from beatnik to freak. There was a lot of overlap between hippies and beatniks. TBH Allen's poetry has feeling, but it's a bit affected and cringey. By the time of the above, the style is a bit outdated. It's kind of a beat cliché style

@alexlancer11 For those interested in the details, this film is from June 2, 1967. Hoppy had been tried the previous day. The show was written up in International Times 15. It mentions that Jimi Hendrix, Chas Chandler, Pete Townshend, Eric Burdon and some of the Yardbirds were there. Also on the bill that night was Hydrogen Jukebox, which featured Glen Sweeney, later of Third Ear Band. The review of the show notes: "It is a pity that with all this happening the Pink Floyd had to play like bums."

I've been told this about the source for this clip. Apparently "As technical director he recorded everything played in the UFO. he also worked for the Stones and recorded everything for them. He's 70 now and is living in Amsterdam where he is transfering everything to digital. Should be quite an archive."
He also has, so I'm told, un-heard live Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett

The footage is from Mark Boyle family. No relations at all to Jack Moore who all of his life perpetuated myth that he "filmed" Pink Floyd at UFO in 67. He got his equipment around late 1968 and did not film Pink Floyd earlier than 1970. ("As technical director he recorded everything played in the UFO. ")
Soft Machine clip was officially released on Gong DVD on Voiceprint label.

@tomthefunky Mike McInnerney did graphics work for the London Free School before becoming the arts editor of International Times in 1967. His wedding that summer was a big "flower power" event in a London park - well covered in the press. He also designed the 14 Hour Technicolour Dream poster. He later became a follower of Meher Baba - the same guru that Pete Townshend followed - which might explain the Tommy connection. The last I heard he was lecturing at Bath Spa College.

Allen Albright Lucy Leave is fantastic. What else do you know of that is floating around unreleased? I’m assuming the 66 show you are referring to is the Free School show?
There’s rumors of the Games for May show being recorded. There are photos of the Floyd on stage at the 24 Hour Technicolor Dream with someone filming Syd. Maybe more Granada footage? We know the Christmas on Earth show was filmed as a small clip exists and Hendrix/Cocker’s sets exist. Nick Mason is supposedly in possession of footage of the 5 man Floyd backstage. There’s the tape of the Vegetable Man Jam Nick played for someone in 69 and is bootlegged.
There’s a short clip that proves that Reaction in G was recorded properly. Other titles floating around include “Intremental”, “Early Morning Henry”, “Untitled”, “Sunshine”.
There’s rumored to be a recording of “I Get Stoned”. Plus unreleased takes of “Lucifer Sam”, “Bike”, “Arnold Layne” and “Vegetable Man”.
Plus somewhere their TV performances in America on Boss City and the Perry Como show. Owsley/Bill Graham are rumored to have recorded all their Fillmore shows. There’s info suggesting they may have filmed something in Amsterdam during the day prior to a gig.
Some of these have got to exist somewhere.
Years ago I would doubt any of this exists, but over the last 10 years or so we got the 65 recordings, the Golden Circle show, Emily on TOTP, a minute long clip from the Roundhouse, John Latham, She Was a Millionaire, the Dope clip, a recent clip of them at the UFO, and an official release of “Vegetable Man” and “Scream Thy Last Scream”.
      So, you really never know.

Allen was refused re-entry to the UK because he overstayed his visa on a prior visit. Rather different from the image presented of him being hounded out of England. I used to be a fan of Gong, but these days I feel the best thing he did, was getting his landlords son then 16 to form a band. Robert Wyatt is a far more important performer in my humble opinion of course.
