I remember being taught this at L'Anse aux Meadows (Canadian viking settlement historic site in Newfoundland/Vinland) and proceeding to "one needle knit" on the return home across the country
I adore this technique. It is especially great for bumpy travel. It has the flexibility of crochet, without the poking at the fabric. Your next stitch is always right there under your thumb. So wonderful. Your stockings/hose are fantastic. 💐
I learned as a kid both sewing and knitting but crochet is the one for me that I can't really figure out 😅 I mean I can do the basic stitches but following a pattern and keeping track of stitches is just beyond me 🤣 but I'd recommend giving knitting a try at some point! It's a nice change of pace from sewing and once you get the hang of it a good way to keep your hands busy while watching tv if you don't have a hand sewing going on at the moment 😊
Never heard of this but I am totally fascinated by this technique! I don't knit, but I do crochet & that helps in understanding the increase/decrease concept. I'm so intrigued, I've got to give it a try. Your videos are wonderful!❤
I am doing my first nalbinded mittens and I recommend that you work on both pairs at the same time. I did my first mitten and then I started a second one and since I am not experienced nalbinder, I don't remember what I did excatly and I cannot figure it out from the first mitten. But it's fun and I hope to finish my mittens before winter.
I tried nålebinding years ago, just couldn't get the hang of it. I am keen to try again, and of course using the Oslo stitch, as my daughter is born in Oslo.

thanks for making a video on Nalbinging! You're a great teacher!

Thanks😊
I keep trying and failing at nalbinding but by watching you I think I've identified some ways I'm going wrong. I'm so glad you put this out
It's definitely a tricky craft to get started in 😅 but once it clicks it gets easier 😊
As someone who's never knitted I am thoroughly confused but honestly very pleasant video to watch ❤
It does indeed take time to learn to nalbind, but with how small and simple the tools can get, it's well worth the effort.
It's been a real pleasure to see ur channel grow. Really happy for u.
Thanks 🥰
Nalbinding is so nice and simple. The only socks I ever made were in Nalbinding
I think knitting is way easier 😅 but nalbinding is fun and fairly quick once you get the hang of it
@@sewthroughtime Somehow I never really got into knitting. Usually I am into sewing

@@sewthroughtime I have so many 1940s jumpers I want to knit. One day...

Thank you so much, I didn't know about this cool technique and will try it out! ❤
Fascinating!

i jsut discovered ur yt channel and it is absolutely amazing. also love ur glasses! im hoping to get ones like those soon haha
Thanks for this--but I can't really see what you're doing. A camera looking down from your point of view would be great
You mentioned there are some stretchier nalbinding stitches and wondered which one (ones)? Where is your "Needle " from or did you make it?
Looks like precursor to crochet
On comprend rien
I think, that it isn't Oslo
Could be Oslo F2
