I love how you tell the story of your family. I imagine you could look at this for hours and remember a lot of happy times and happy people. ❤
Joe, It came out fabulous. Thanks for all of the tips. Decorating a book case is always a challenge. Loved all the different vessels and glass you incorporated. It is so nice when each piece evokes a memory of times gone by and people we have loved. They are always with us. Please subscribe Love & Hugs
This unit looks very pretty. I like that you used things you have and have wonderful memories.
Hi Joe, you have done a masterful job with this bookcase unit; genius!! I love every aspect and I especially love all of the stories that go along with your sentimental pieces. :) (I also really like your jacket...as you know I was a band mom/band parent president for years and years and while our girls played clarinet in the marching band, I took the color guard under my wing and I always made sure that they were well cared for (AND I did their hair all of the time...hahaha...can we say French braids for days?! ;) ). Wonderful video! Much love to you both! ♥
Thanks for making me smile so early in the morning!! What great times with the kids always..and yes! French braids, side part sock bun, smell of hairspray, make up and fabreeze on those uni's lolol!!
Yes!!! All of it with the Color Guard!! lol 😅😂❤
Beautiful job
Thank you! 😊
I need to say, i love love❤ your channel. You and maryann are absolutely a great couple. THANK YOU THANK YOU, for all your hard work, it's greatly appreciated.

I thoroughly enjoyed hearing your thoughts as you placed everything to tell you and Mary Ann’s Story! Such a special piece to have in your family room!!❤
Thank you so much!
I truly enjoy watching you decorate and telling the story
Thank you so much!
I love it Joe💗 You always do such a wonderful job of decorating! Thank you so much
Love the faux greenery, never mind what some show does.👍🏻
Love the nostalgia & story telling around your new bookcase display. You guys are so sweet & very sentimental. ❤
Family is everything for us. Thank you for stopping by to visit.
Joe, beautiful job decorating your book shelves and I love what you did, too. Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend.
Thank you! You too!
So many nice memories! Looks great.
well what do you know😍who said you need all to decorate for the season✨
🕯️🪞🏞️ Hi, Joe! Obviously, I know you’re a decorator. But, I didn’t know you’re an artist, too. Your painting of Winnie the Pooh, rivals that of the art I’ve seen in the story books. So, good! And like listening to the stories about your families and seeing the pieces you’ve collected. I’m with you about visual clutter. Makes me nuts! 🏞️🪞🕯️
Thank you. I don't profess to be either a decorator or an artist, but being creative was instilled in me from my parents. I owe it all to them, but thank you for the compliment.
Joe, I didn’t mean to misspeak. I just meant you’re an artist and decorator in your own right. I hope there’s no hard feelings. I have the utmost respect for you, Maryann and your channel. :)
Lovely job Joe! Also, always love the stories ☺️. Hope you’re both having a nice evening. ❤
Thank you! You too!
Looks good. Thanks for the styling tips. I just did the shelves in my secretary. I have a collection of white milk glass and some lovely green pieces. I added them for St Patrick’s day. It has a mirrored back with a light. It really brightens the room on another cloudy rainy day in NJ. Looking forward to your next video
Sounds great!
As always,good job/unique style
Looks great Joe
you and Maryann have
a beautiful home
Thanks so much
Homeworthy and potted boxwood are both great inspiration, especially for traditional home decor.
Joe, the shelves look fabulous! Great job!
Thanks so much!
Great job Joe❤
Well done Joe❤
you get it.
I ABSOLUTELY love the tips. They're priceless. You're so right. Visual cluttering is very stifling. Thank you for the accompanying stories, too.
BRAVO, gorgeous, cohesive look🏡🙏🏻🤗👏🏻

The days of our lives🥰
Love the changes. You are always entertaining, love the brown inside the cabinets. I hope you and Mary Ann is have a wonderful week. The weather here in Arizona have been quite nice. Have a wonderful day my friend.
Thank you! You too!
Are you kidding me? You drew that? Awesome 😊
Thank you
BEAUTIFUL!!!
Very nice! I love the way you are making all those colors work together. When I watch someone’s vlogs I usually am looking for ways to make things work together because I am no minimalist and I like a variety of decor styles. I am also a strong supporter of the Thomas Kincaid theory of light in my decor. I must say I do like the chocolate and cream together and this display you created in this vlog just gave me the inspiration for our master bedroom which has a lot of sage green and peaches in the decor but I just couldn’t get past the primer on the walls because I needed to come to terms with paint colors to put on the primed walls to give a masculine and a feminine feel to the room. I think your refashioned entertainment center just answered that question. Thanks Joe…I truly like how you presented this project in explanation and style. Just a bit of a curiosity though if you don’t mind in how you ended up working your new furniture from a few vlogs back. Did you find your little side table and did you keep the furniture the way you styled it originally? I kinda felt like you weren’t 100% so I was hoping you were going to revisit and bring us along if you made changes or not. Any way…thanks for always enlightening and entertaining us with all your visits!!!:):):)
Hi Vicki, it is so good to see you commenting. I was worried about you, in fact I mentioned you in a video last week as Christin had pulled one of your sweet comments for one of the picture books she created for me and I came across it while remembering my sweet girl. Anyway, I do hope all is well with you. ❤
Arlynn…God love you for seeing my comment. Doing well is probably not exactly correct but I’ll hop on your email soon and update you as I’m sure folks don’t really want to hear the Ulrich’s tail of woe! It’s funny because you brought me to Joes sight years ago and now you are connecting with me on his sight again. I did quit most of my commentary as I was told I tend to “prattle on” a bit too much. Since I got that bit of advice I pulled way back but knowing I’m gonna “steal” Joes color scheme for our bedroom I felt justified BUT I tried hard to keep it as short and sweet as possible…for me!!!:):):)
Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful for you to figure out what you may need to do to accomplish your own desired outcome. And yes, I found the C shaped table at a reasonable price ( actually half of Amazon and others) at IKEA. the room is coming together. I'll show it soon. I just hesitate because lately I'm getting the.."you don't know what you're doing" comments and I get PO'ed and want to stop sharing. But, I appreciate your comment and you taking time to say hi!
Oh Joe, please don’t stop sharing. I would be very disappointed!!!:):):)
Looks very nice ...
For some reason the last couple of videos you posted have been slightly blurry. Wondering if your camera lens is dirty. I don’t see this on the other videos I watch. BTW love watching you.
Yes it's the glare from the windows. It's strange because although it's cloudy out, there has been a glare that shows up blurry on camera. The only way to avoid it seems to be to video at night. But that just isn't happening at this time. I do appreciate you watching though and fighting through the technical issues.
❤️
A few critiques. I feel like top pieces are unnecessary, the scale of the art isn't adding and the color of the green/sheen of the vase trio isn't vibing for me. I would remove the dust jackets on the top shelf books if the spines fit into the palette. Positives; lighting. I have a similar shelving situation. Drilling a hole in the back of the cabinet for candle lighting was a game changer. My shelves are 17.5 inches deep, I've used a 1x2 to decrease "depth" and attached with command strips. Your creation of the visual triangle was executed well, scale is a bit off, but love the story. Joe, I agree with you on visual clutter. For me, I let the color palette do the heavy lifting. Replacing my wood shelves with glass would offer more options as this is a feature wall in my living room. I need to bite bullet and install top down lighting in my units. Your inspo is fabulous!
Thanks. I use what I have. If painting is sometimes warranted for a piece, it will happen eventually. I don't profess to be a professional or know what I'm doing. But seeing other things out there on youtube, I give myself a pat on the back for achieving a look on a budget and with what I have. I'm just an old man that likes a nice house. Thanks for stopping by.
Curious why don’t you use pod lights or strip lights for shelve lights. I got that idea from you at Christmas time
I don't have any but I keep wanting the strip lights I just never remember to buy them.
Well done Joe❤
