I feel Luigi in general makes the games more tense than Sonic or his ilk. And if you don't care for the matchup the games usually go pretty fast, at least. I'm speaking from a spectator point of view. I'll be keeping an eye out for Rarukun and (unrelatedly) Toriguri this year for sure.
@@ShintaSmash Agreed. Luigi is one of the poster boys for polarizing outcomes. Toriguri is a really cool Banjo player. Not at all a similar character, but he makes the character look hype.
yeah the character combo route looks repetitive, but due to the unpopularity of luigi in high tier majors nowadays, and how lame the campy gameplay of ult's top tiers are, rarukun here looks like a low tier hero.
been keeping an eye on rarukun and toriguri since they have reach heights similar to acola and miya's ratings in online tournaments. Soooo happy to see them destroying the offline scene
TamaPdaifuku, Kuroponzu, Fui (for 2400+ on Smashmate, which is like top 10 peak) - and around 40 people at 2300+ which is a peak people like Protobanham, Shuton and Gackt put hours and hours to get (globally, Smashmate best player are Acola, Miya, Yoshidora and ron)
2300 range is Hurt, Snow, Kaninabe. But the one hidden HIDDEN boss from online is Prand Grix, the best Link online in Japan that just doesn't do tournament but have positive setcount on Acola, Yoshidora, KEN etc.
Luigi hits or gets an opening on you you either lose a stock or get huge damage his advantage state is insane and once he gets his hands on you good luck. campers or spacing characters like Zero Suit Samus/Samus Sephitoth Snake Cloud and others give him a hard time but it's still doable
Luigi is one of the most hype characters in the game. His arms and legs are an inch long, so you shouldn't get touched. He's slow both on the ground and in the air, so it's all fine, ri- K-O! He has to work so hard to get in to do his thing, while so many characters just wave their huge scary hitboxes around. I like seeing how various Luigi players approach the conundrum that is Luigi's complete lack of mobility. There's hype even in footsies when the character doesn't even have footsies to begin with. The precooked grab-to-deaths can be boring if they happen, but that's not really a thing at high enough levels.
Luigi might be a cheesy character but he's as fun a heck! Rarukun makes him look so easy at high level competition but it is very hard to pull of combos like he did all tournament.
he went to much offstage he couldve just ledgetrapped luigi for how long he wanted to and he went in with some really bad nairs and dairs which wasnt necessary at all
@@Kratobert Yea I see that I even made a "yoink" joke cause I literally thought that was a bad dair. And yea I guess the common thought is to edgeguard luigi but if youre Min Min might as well ledge trap
@@swordre5805that's interesting. In my minds eye I just see bigger stages and super lame out play. And now ledge trapping over edgeguarding as another person suggested. But I suppose if you get one interaction as the Luigi you're golden I can see why Acola would switch as I also think Min Min beats Steve.
Luigi can be hella hype. Probably not fun to fight, but certainly fun to watch as a spectator.

This is why i dont like tier list cause any character can be used if one person puts effort and train with them hard enough. Great video!

Japan has a different view on this match up. Even Acola changed to Luigi to fight doramigi because he think Luigi is better in this match up.
