How to replace a disc brake assembly on an e-bike 

In this video, I show you how to replace the entire disc brake assembly on an E bike. The disc brake system on this bike developed a leak, so I removed the entire old disc brake system, including the lever and the caliper, and then I replaced it with a new unit that had already been filled with brake fluid. This is a fairly easy operation to do on most bikes and electric bikes. It’s not difficult to replace your disc brakes on an E bike. This video shows you every step I took to replace the entire disc brake assembly on my bike, including the lever, the cable, and the caliper.

That’s a great question. Knowing what I know now, and having to fix problems on some of these bikes, I would go with one of the bigger brands, especially with a lot of brands going out of Business these days. If the bike has a Bafang brand motor, then you know the motor is good. They’re the biggest motor brand, and they make good stuff. You’d have to decide whether you want to get him a moped style bike or a bicycle style bike. I actually prefer the bicycle style. I really like the ride1up Café cruiser right now. It’s a beefy beach cruiser with a 750 W motor that goes 28 miles an hour. And it’s under $1200. Rad power ebikes are good, but they don’t look cool, and a kid would want to look cool on his ebike. The super 73 bikes are overpriced, but the ones I’ve looked at that the kids in the neighborhood ride are really well constructed down to the quality of the bolts, and they have a good company backing them up. That being said, I wouldn’t buy one because they cost as much as a motorcycle. The rev1 by ride1up gets great reviews as well. It’s available as a hard tail, or with rear suspension.
