    As a side note, the Oatey plumbers putty says on the label not to use it with plastic because it can degrade plastic over time. They recommend using their 100% silicone based sealant with plastic. Walmart sells a 2.8 ounce tube of GE284 100% silicone sealant at for $3.77. That was more than enough to do the drain. Oddly, the Moen instructions for this just says to use "mastic". I called Moen and they said to use silicone. My vintage concrete sink required sealing the rubber beveled ring on the bottom as well since it leaked first go around. Working with a empty cat litter tray is a good idea to catch water leaks until it's definitely sealed

    • @SkyManagement
      @SkyManagement  4 года назад +2

      Thank you for bringing that up!! historically we have used metal ones, but with more brands switching over to plastic we will have to start using silicone for sure.

      I also had this problem. It kept leaking. Once I heard I should use a pipe wrench, I realized it was simply not tight enough. Don't tighten the water lines too much... Rule of thumb is finger tight first then about one extra turn with the wrench, otherwise you risk crushing those rubber washers, especially on the hot water side and they could start leaking after a few months.

    hi, the part thats missing is connecting to the water lines from the house. my lines are too long, can i loop them to fit ? its difficult to find the exact length and you did not show that part.

    • @SkyManagement
      @SkyManagement  4 года назад +1

      Yes, you can loop them. As long as they are not kinked. if you want them to be exact, you will probably have to use the kind that you cut to the length that you want, but it is easier to just get them a little long and bend them a bit to make them work.

    What about showing the part where the pipe (waste assembly) goes into the drain pipe? My Moen Bathroom sink kit did not some with the plastic nut that screws into the drain side. I thought I lost it, but after looking at the Directions, it does not show it, but my old faucet/drain had a nut to prevent a possible back flow if the drain gets clogged. WS84667SRN Now another trip to the hardware store with the old broken plastic nut.

    • @SkyManagement
      @SkyManagement  4 года назад +1

      I think you are talking about where the drain assembly attaches to the P-trap. The fittings for that come with a P-trap kit (or all of the parts can be purchased separately and they are fairly inexpensive). I don’t have a specific video posted on P-trap assembly. But that gives me an idea of what to post next! Thank you :)

    Be serious. "I like it mostly because lifetime warranty"? Really? You think in 10 years you will keep that receipt and will be returning the $40 faucet or ask for a "part". This is why they are giving you warranty because they know it is not worth your time to waste on the warranty claim. Maybe 1 in 10 people will ask for that and they can hassle you until you lose patience.
    The whole installation (and this is shown without removal of the old faucet which is likely going to be the hard part of the job) gives me idea that I really do not want this to be my faucet. There must be something easier and simpler that this "stopper" nonsense.

    • @SkyManagement

    can I bend the hot/cold water cords because its 10 inch to water supply line and I have 12 inch cord can I bend it or will it cause leaks

    • @SkyManagement
      @SkyManagement  Год назад +1

      It depends on the type of connections you are using. Most of them are at least somewhat flexible and it’s ok to bend them as long as they are not kinked or putting too much strain on anything.
