Link to a cool video showing the benefits of the Tank Lift on a Dyna....made by one of our Customers, it has some before and after pics, and a good install process- ruclips.net/video/51vo2vE-BMg/видео.html
I had spacer bushings with my kit. I bought the 3 inch deluxe kit. Had to use the extended hose. I really appreciate that supplying that DK. I've just put on the front so far. Looks good, but my brackets seemed wider than my frame. Had to use an impact to tighten everything up at the bottom where my brackets attach to the frame. Looks great though
Glad you're enjoying it. Yeah, HD tolerance vary quite a bit, sometimes they need to be pulled in like you described. We appreciate your business. 👍
That's a good video. Is there a way to raise it higher to 3-4 inches instead of 2 inches?
The only bike we sell a 4 inch tank lift for is the Sportster. We do offer 3 inch tank lifts for the Dyna's, Softails, and Baggers, but you would have to check for clearence before ordering to know if your bike will allow for a higher Tank Lift.
Checking for clearance not only allows you to insure fitment, it also allows you to see which size will look best with your bike.
It is easy to check for clearance:
1. With bike on kickstand, take the bolt out of the front of your tank.
2. Loosen (do not remove) the bolt(s) at the rear of your tank.
3. Turn your handlebars all the way to the left and raise the tank up your desired lift height to check for clearance issues.
4. Turn your handlebars all the way to the right and raise the tank up your desired lift height to check for clearance issues.
Be careful when lifting your tank, you do not want to hit against something (forks, handlebars, trees, blinkers, etc.) when checking for clearance.

Thank you for commenting! MB
Great video, thanks !
Glad you liked it!
Why am i having problems getting slack in my wiring? I have zero tried pulling the wore nothing comes up. Is there any solution to this issue?
What year model bike do you have?
It may be the fuel cross-over tube that is stopping it from raising, not the wires. (IF you has a fuel crossover line)
It could also be that someone zip tied the wires too tight under the tank, which is preventing the tank from moving up because of the tight wires. MB
Thank you for the response
2014 dyna Low rider
That may be the case because the owner before me hated wires I’ll have to look under the tank, but the crossover line is good so is the vent hose. I did notice the cable tie underneath the dash cover can be a little bit slack if I cut the cable tie off.
I hope that fixes your problem! MB
Great video, but I only need longer vent line. where can I get it ?
Any auto parts store.
@@DKCustomProducts Thanks but I searched quite lot there are only fuel hoses which looks bit different outer diameter and material.
@@irakli9604 It is a vacuum line, not a fuel line. It might also be what some folks call a windshield wiper fluid line. If you received a Tank Lift Kit from us and the line was not long enough, you can give a call or email and we have some...but it would be faster and less expensive to get it locally at a parts store.
What does this change the fuel level indication and accuracy ?
Good question. Depends on the bike and the size lift. Anywhere from no change on the Touring, Softail & Dyna models with up to a 2" lift (and deluxe option) to as much as a 1/4 gallon on other configurations. Here is a write up on it with a graphic of what the gas does in the tank-

Is it normal after install left side of tank hits fork?
whay is the benefit of lifting the tank. or is it just a cosmetic look..thanks
It increases air flow over the engine, cooling it down 10-15 degrees. That redirected air is no longer hitting the rider in the chest, resulting in reduced buffeting. Expose more chrome for looks, and makes cleaning the top of the rocker boxes easier. ruclips.net/video/NiCQL4ffw7g/видео.html
smokeGR20 will throw ur fuel gauge off if that's important to you, you can do with out this
On 2014's and up we have not seen it changing the fuel gauge at all. On earlier years, the fuel gauges were rarely accurate, and it does change...sometimes making them more accurate, sometimes a little less.
Honestly it looks way better. Subtle change in the lines of the bike. 2" works easy on softails. 2.5 on dynas, sky is the limit of sportsters. Will change the fuel gauge a little bit but its not accurate to begin with. When you hit OMG LO RNG status you have about a gallon left on Dynas and Softails.
@Mike Greer Yes, besides better air flow over the engine, more chrome showing and easier to clean, for many it does make the speedo easier to see. All depends on how tall one is and how they sit.
Did you have to change the vent line and cross over hose? Thanks.
It varies bike to bike, because Harley is Not consistent in how long they make their hoses. But most of the time a 2" will fit with no change in hoses needed. All kits come with the hoses, in case they do need to be changed.

What the name of your bike color??
It's been a few years since we've seen this bike...I believe it is a Twisted Cherry paint.
cool
I’d like to see a video of converting the ignition switch to the dash on the older street bobs. Can’t find a how to On this at all besides botched versions of it.
We have not done this ourselves. It is something we may do at some point in the future, and if we do, we'll make a video.
DKCustomProducts that’s what’s up! Be a super cool mod!!!
If DK sends me parts i'll do a video and all that. Send me an FXDWG dash i have customers who want it ;)
Simple enough. Forgot your before and after shot brother.
What bars are those?
Contact Brandon at Devils Head Choppers, he will let you know which bars they are. - www.devilsheadchoppers.com/
I make them!
is there some slack wires down inside the frame? a friend said its down in there I just need to quit actin like a pussy and pull the wires out but I don't wanna pull them too hard if theres not enough extra wiring? what do ya think?
thanks
The bracket I got from DK customs looks nothing like yours
Yep, we went to CNC Cut Billet, much cleaner design, now available in Powder Black or Machine Cut finish. Here's a video on them- ruclips.net/video/_eoTomZrVFI/видео.html and here's more on them www.dkcustomproducts.com/gas-tank-lift-kits-c4-222.htm

I'll tell Brandon at Devilshead Chopper that you don't like his camera work from 6 years ago. In the meantime, here is a more recent video on Dyna Tank Lifts- ruclips.net/video/_eoTomZrVFI/видео.html
