Hi Jo, it's been s long time since I've watched this video. This was what started me paying guitar again after a long and bitter divorce. I had been watching Elvis's 69 comeback and was desperate to find out how to play this properly. Thanks again for the inspiration. Still going strong 7 years later..
Absolutely fantastic! Really nicely done. I’ll be watching this video a thousand times to get all the nuances and, in particular, the finger pickings. Really awesome! Thank you for this.
Thanks for this tutorial. This show was my very first time seeing and hearing Elvis when I was about 6 years old and when I found out what I was born to do in life. This particular song was always my favorite on the set list for that show.
Yes, those of us who are guitar players all know Jimmy Reed did it. But Elvis version is the BOMB! Thank you!!!! for taking the time to get this one down! I have the DVD set of the Elvis 68 Special and his version of that song NEVER gets old. Thanks for showing us a classic.
Joe I just love this tutorial soooooo much! People are wanting to learn the guitar during these Covid Times, & I can only hope they are finding their way here to you! I've told a lotta folks about this & about you of course. I just hope everybody does as well. Also I hope you do more guitar tutorials because you're so thorough and so darned fabulous!!
Joe, such a fantastic tutorial! This has helped me with this song. I’d love to see you teach California Blue / Roy Orbison. Thank you so much Joe! 👍🎸🎤🎧
Thanks. I learned a lot watching you show how to play this song. I'm still working on it, but I've only been playing a very few yrs & had never played anything before. Again, thanks.
Currently I learn from sheets and try to copy some bits from your interpretations, putting it on slow and watching your fingers. I would love to see more of these in the future!
Awesome Guitar...and tutorial...you are multi-talented...you could teach..you made this so clear and easy....trying this...thanks..Happy New and safe NEW YEAR....Kat
I enjoy whatever Joe does. Enjoy the tutorial although I'm not a good enough player (yet) to keep up with it all. Only been playing a few yrs, but learning more every day. Thanks Joe.
Hey Joe, Thanks very much for this. Its now part of the rep of the East Side Blues, Belfast, and all bein well, we'll be playing it on stage for the first time on June 27 this year, when we play a gig as part of the programme for the Belfast Blues Festival. This Belfast four piece appreciate your time and efforts on You Tube. Just one minor point. The last chord in a 12 bar Blues sequence is usually referred to as the "turnaround". And yes, I'm sure you know it was Jimmy Reed who recorded this song, ten years or so before Elvis, but there's no denying that the Elvis version on the comeback special is just brilliant! He was on top form, looking great, and sounding even better! Hard to believe he was off to see Robert Johnson just eight years later, in 1977! What a shame! Thanks again, Joe.
Elvis was ,is, and Always will be the absolute King of music of all types ,There will never be till the end of time not one single person or group of people that could get anywhere close to him ALWAYS TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS BABY ELVIS PRESLEY
okay i'm one of the biggest elvis fans out there and i think you're just turning him into a god and downselling legendary people like freddie mercury, david bowie, lisa presley herself, and many other great classic singers who were just as good as elvis to their own.
Thank you very much for this Joe , been trying for months watching your video,. Hope you had a great christmas , happy new year. to you and family , take care
thanks for the articulate lesson! a dream come true. at 55, just got my 1st computer and just found you. you do justice to these treasures. you're very soulful, as was elvis. please consider singing i need you so; summer kisses, winter tears; pocketful of rainbows; and angel. in addition to elvis, there's no toher person i would rather enjoy singing them. grateful for you bringing these songs to a new generation.
Hey Joe ;) Great wee lesson my friend and a lovely wee semi. Your vocals and playing are amazing.Great video and super clear sound, think people will be demanding more tips. Elvis would be proud of you for all the wonderful versions you've done. Here's wishing you and yours a very happy and healthy new year, Cheers Billy ;)
Thanks a lot Joe your awesome. I'm just starting out on a steel string and I have been trying to find this sound ever since I heard the 68 comeback. Subscribed :)

I actually don’t like this vid but for some strange reason it keeps getting views so I leave it up! Thank you, I’m glad you got something out of it. 👍😊
Hi Joe, reviewing this from time to time and it'a precious piece of work but.. image are not so sharpy and not so clear to fully understand It would be fine if one day you remake this 'cause your last filming are much better now. Plus, somebody ask you for the tab. Have you any? Thanks
Elvis was not a guitar player, so I listen carefully to Scotty Moore and the riffs that he plays. This is a cool tune and there is so much you can do with it.
*lol* Where were you when I had my guitar? I was one of those flakey girls that made it up as I went along. I hope to get another guitar one day and actually learn it properly. You do a good job in this tutorial. I've noticed in the past that people often don't tell a beginner how to properly strum, and we just sort of struggle until we get away with something half decent. Whenever I get one, I'll be back to check this out! :)
Joe, Thanks for the lesson....I am now playing the song! But why did you not use this guitar for the full blown cover? This guitar sounds MUCH better - the one on the cover is kinda lame.
Thanks a lot, Joe, for showing me how to play this beyond just the chords. Your tributes to Elvis are second to none

Absolutely fantastic! Really nicely done. I’ll be watching this video a thousand times to get all the nuances and, in particular, the finger pickings. Really awesome! Thank you for this.
