- This is Yvonne Fair’s cover version of “It Should Have Been Me” released in 1975. While it only reached #85 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, it became popular in the UK, reaching #5 in 1976.
It was featured on the Bridget Jones Diary 2 soundtrack, as well as the BBC sitcom The Vicar of Dibley special episode titled “The Handsome Stranger” (aired 25 December 2006) where Dawn French lip-synced the last chorus.
One of many black female singers that sing a tune that blows everyone else away and Yvonne Fair is in my top 3

You got a few of the lyrics wrong toward the very end, and the video doesn't match up with the vocal in places, but otherwise a good idea brought to hilarious fruition.
I don't know what lines you think I got wrong. I cross checked the lyrics with a couple of sites, and I just watched it and didn't notice any mistakes. And the places that don't quite line up is because the skit was really short compared to the song, so I had to re-use some of the footage.
