    The Canes are’t a regional brand (South). They are a national brand (BIG). I would love to see ‘The U’ in the BIG.

      This is the part that too many talking heads and FSU fans don't understand. The average college football fan is age 40 and over. For us, The U is an iconic program from the days we started following football with some historic rivalries. Plus a lot of folks in B1G country is retiring to Miami and it's a great academic school. In terms of what's best financially, FSU is better for the B1G. In terms of fit, I'd take Miami all day.

    Mark has been on this for a long time. Schooled me. Don’t see too much in the waters to change it up. Just makes most sense that FSU, Clemson, Miami and Notre Dame will be the next 4 in.

    Also import not to forget, the university of Miami just last year became an AAU accredited university which is a soft requirement for admission into the Big 10. The other schools that get Big 10 buzz don’t have that.

    • @heartbreak25
      @heartbreak25 13 дней назад +1

      AAU is not a hard or soft requirement. This myth needs to die. MSU wasn't an AAU member for their first 7 years. Nebraska had it and lost it. Oregon is fledgling. The B1G has wanted the Irish for over 50 years. They only became AAU last year. You just have to be making a significant investment in research and schools are doing that.

    • @TestSubject38
      @TestSubject38 12 дней назад +1

      It's very important to the B1G that a school is AAU. Michigan State joined 75 years ago. A lot has changed since then. Nebraska join with in and had it taken away by the B1G votes of Indiana and Wisconsin. Even stories of them being warned to get it back by the B1G.

      @heartbreak25 ND has always been different. No AAU needed for them. They are the exception and are already written into the media deal.
      They don't deserve AAU but it's not a surprise they got it. Most of the AAU committee is B1G schools. Relationships are important in college sports. Bending rules goes along way.

      @@TestSubject38 If there are all of these exceptions then how is there any rule? And why do fans think they know more about the B1G requirements than two B1G commissioners involved in realignment? Delaney and Warren both stated publicly that it's not a requirement. They're lying to everyone?

    more central to the Big 10 region, than even Indiana, Bloomington. But what does Geography
    matter anymore, when you've got teams from the West Coast in Both the Big 10 & ACC ..?

    • @heartbreak25

      @@Jaems_Scott No. That's the SEC way.
      I'm old enough to remember when they said PSU was too far east which is why they were the last team to be added without a unanimous vote. You think Michigan's comments about Catholics had anything to do with location and they still feel that way? You sure about that geography comment?
      The B1G has survived and thrived since 1896 because it changes with the times. Not having a presence where many of your alums and donors live would lead to a slow death. There are reasons Kansas and Missouri weren't invited on countless occasions.

    • @Jaems_Scott
      @Jaems_Scott 13 дней назад

      @@heartbreak25 = Sure, it's not like Pennsylvania is right next to Ohio or anything. Or that Bloomington and West Lafayette are in the same State as Notre Dame. Because that would be regional, wouldn't it?
      Michigan's comments about Catholics mean very little, when the Big Ten has been seeking to absorb ND for decades after the fact, when the University of Chicago dropped its varsity athletics in 1946, leaving the Big 10. They Picked up Michigan State, and offered to Notre Dame, who chose to remain Independent.
      The Big 10's involvement to deconstruct the Big East, was also an attempt to force ND into a Conference. The addition of Rutgers was calculated, while taking Maryland from the ACC rather than a team further south with more athletics success. Other than their AAU status, both New Jersey & Maryland border with Pennsylvania. Keeping things more regional.
      Nebraska sits right under Iowa, and is the Midwest. Very Regional.
      Alumni on the West Coast ... meh, so what? The Big Ten didn't give a flying flip about LA viewership until the Pac was ready to collapse.
      The Big Ten had been proactive in their pursuit of the membership schools they have. Adding the teams from the west only happened when they came begging for a place to call home.

    • @heartbreak25
      @heartbreak25 13 дней назад

      @@Jaems_Scott Oh okay, states touching is your metric despite Nebraska being over 1,000 miles from PSU. LOL! Again, you're not arguing with me, you're arguing with the coaches and ADs at Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, and Minnesota about PSU at the time. The same way it's not a big deal now, 30 years from now, current B1G expansion won't be a big deal to that era of fans either.
      How old are you? You have a lot of historical facts wrong.
      The first person to try to create the Northeast version of the ACC was Joe Paterno in the 80s. He failed and that's why PSU joined the B1G. The Big East was imploded by the ACC who wanted to build the strongest basketball conference not understanding the value of football. The B1G wanted to add UNC and UVA after Nebraska to strengthen the Big Ten Network. Both schools said no so they settled for Rutgers and Maryland. Again, the DMV and NY/NJ have a large concentration of B1G alums who watch B1G content.
      The B1G didn't care about LA viewership despite being part of the longest bowl tie-in in college football history since 1947 with the PAC-12? Ever heard of the Rose Bowl - Grandaddy of them all? It's the only bowl to have a nationally televised parade celebrating it. Hint, that game has NEVER been played outside of LA. LOL!
      The B1G isn't proactive in trying to get into Texas at the moment. If a group of Texas teams called them like they did 10 years ago, they'd try to make it work. Like they tried but failed to do 10 years ago. Basic math.

    I personally think its wrong for any Miami Hurricane fan to say "Im dying to get out of the ACC" like weve never won the ACC so how are we sick of it? FSU has all thr right to say theyre sick of the ACC theyve proven to be better than the ACC by having won it multiple times. Like if the Hurricanes have won the conference a bunch of times and continously kicked the crap out of the ACC then sure weve proven too big for the ACC, but the only thing proven is that Miami literally every. single. season and multiple times a season have lost to a team we think we shouldnt have. Prior to every season I look at our schedule and tell myself, "Oh were going to beat that team and that team. NO way were losing to that team!" and what happens? We lose to a school we shouldnt have. Im sorry but we cannot act like were better than the ACC or too big for the ACC when in fact at the present time the ACC is where we belong. If we win the ACC this year and just crush it on the field and possibly repeat as ACC champs next season, its possible, than im all on board with the notion "Im dying to get out of the ACC" yeah and im *dying* to win the ACC just *ONCE*
