@@ExternusArmy He still has it, but since he doesn't sing metalcore that much now you cant hear that often. Some songs like Fermi Paradox or Dose are "newer" songs and examples of that
I'll always miss his old voice, but his current style is pretty damn great too. The G#4 at 03:00 and the A4 at 03:27 are some of the best he's ever done.
@@JormaKovanen2k not sure if you mean the Sunny D or Paradigm low notes but there is an unofficial vocal track for Sunny D that is a lot clearer since it’s hard to hear with the original mix. The Paradigm low note I can hear fairly easily but they also do isolate it in the Breakdown episode they do.
@@xtramagnus8088 interesting to see someone else knows his voice well. Can you link the live A5? I found 2005 live in San Diego but it sounds more like a heady A4 with overtones. And he’s also hit a G#5/Ab5 similar to the Beast and the Harlot note playing Second Heartbeat live though I can’t remember the exact show
@@xtramagnus8088 that’s not him, I’m sure of it. There’s amp feedback that’s distinct from Matt ascending to C5. Bummer because that would’ve been really crazy to hear
@Dime Fe yep that’s a unique C#5. he very rarely gets that high in his shout-scream voice without using mix voice/sliding up. Gotta love the 2002 clip too. his voice was so young and flexible back then
5:22 the first high note there is actually a Eb5, he is off key there for that particular note. they didn't do any tuning on his vocals and a lot of the stage was recorded in one or two takes and the song "higher" really suffers from it. there are a few moments where matt is noticably off key and its jarring if your ears are sensitive to it.
His voice on this album is just unreal. The range he's built over the years is incredible
Agreed!!
The range he’s lost over the years is even more incredible in my opinion. He used to have such fantastic control in the low 5th octave

@@NUKCYNDv Those bass notes before the 2nd verse of Fermi Paradox are unbelievable
We can only imagine how those high notes would have sounded like in his "Nightmare' days.
Emm, probably the same xD
He had a "higher" voice in 2003 but that was due to his back technique, so he strained his voice a lot back then.
@@NUKCYNDv his highest upper range was on CoE era
His Nightmare era vocals were the best, perfect mix of range and power
@@woodenhoe If I'm not mistaken, he could reach a higher note before CoE and his surgery, I think it was a E5 in I Won't See You Tonight Pt 1

Such an easy G#4 for him. His G4 at the end of Seize the Day LBC was also just as smooth
Sunny Disposition has a D2 tucked in there. Also missing the F#2 in Paradigm.
Yeah, isn't the D2 in the background at the "and no one likes cheap wine" part?
@@JormaKovanen2k yes sir. The F#2 on Paradigm is during the ‘final paradigm’ lines after the choruses

higher
that's the highest low notes.
well that’s because its missing his lowest notes off the album like D2

Honestly, I also hear the same as the uploader, a D5… it is a weird sounding note though
