Thanks for the video. I visited there in the early 90!s and was fascinated by the old, mainly unrestored machinery along the highway. Great to see it preserved and still on display.

We called in there on our way back from longreach 2 years ago, fascinating little town and an amazing machinery display.

Lovely video and thank you for putting it together - a lot of work! We were there in 2010 heading south from Longreach on a 4wd camping trip around the country - with our 4mth old son and my parents! We epent some time on the array of old trucks and vehicles on the side of the road and I recall a little hut made with kerosine tins. It had been raining and we ended up with very muddy shoes!
We went from there to Barcaldine via Isisford, which was a fascinating little place. In the main street, there's an old shop which has been left the way it was since it was closed many years ago, right next to the gallery building (hard to miss in such a small place!).
Can't wait to go back to that beautiful country and thank you for the memories! Cheers - David

David, thank you! Clearly, you have such wonderful memories of your visit to this region. Like you, we've also spent time at Isisford, which is another interesting historic town. I love the post office building there. By the way, is the old shop you are referring to the bakery? If so, you must check out this story on my blog: judithsalecich.com/for-love-of-bread-the-isisford-bakery/ My best wishes, Judy.

@@judithsalecich Hi Judy - lovely article and thanks for passing it on. The shop I remember was not too far from the bakery, the general store - Hooper and Brockhurst, which has also been set up as a museum.
We may have stopped in the same park as you for lunch - very fond memories.
      All the best - David
