I can't believe that being a virgin is a shame to some people..
Honestly i'm ashamed about it. I wish I didn't have to feel this way about it but I am always having to remind myself "okay i'm 18, it's still okay i have a few years left to lose it" I dunno it sounds silly but that's how I feel when i'm in college. I don't want to do it but you feel like an alien when you're the only one not doing it..
crazy4corbinbleux Don't have sex just because you feel pressure from the society around you. Chances are, you are not the only one not doing it, despite what it may seem like. Also, if you have sex when you don't really want to, you will most likely regret it. You are not the only 18 year old who is not having sex, there have been many before you, and there will be many after you. You aren't alone, even if it feels like it. Be true to yourself.

First of all, if a guy is lucky enough to be dating a beautiful girl who tells him she is a virgin, he needs to kiss the ground she walks on and treat her like a princess because he instantly knows she 1.) has morals (rare in this sick world), 2.) Respects herself and her body enough to wait for the right man and 3.) not everyone likes virgins. its a personal choice which you could be damned doing or not. so dont be so quick to judge or be mad. i prefer someone with my experience level or better or close. im by far not a virgin. i have only had sex with girlfriends and most ended on good terms. we're good. virginity not a big deal for me but i prefer someone more experienced.

What about a woman who isn't a virgin? She can have morals too and I think that her value shouldn't be based on her vaginal status. A woman is so much more than her sexual status, which is also private. There are plenty of non virgin women who are moral, disease free (also, you can get an STD without having sex) no children and genuinely good-hearted, so why shouldn't she be treated like a princess too? I think that putting so much emphasis on a woman's sexuality is treating her like an object, but on the other side of the coin.

I may sound naïve, but I want to be honest. I don't get why certain people are ashamed of saying they're a virgin. I mean you're not going to say it out of the blues but if the conversation comes up, I don't see why it is a big deal. Honestly, maybe if I was sexually active in high school or college my views would change, but if I have sex it will *only* be with virgins. I'd date a virgin but waiting until marriage, respectfully, would be a dating dealbreaker for me. I would wait to get to know someone and if they needed six months, sure, but before getting married I want to experience every form of intimacy with them. Sex isn't everything but it is a pretty big part of my relationships and I couldn't make a life commitment with someone if I didn't know how they were under the sheets.

I think the question is less about dating a virgin and more about dating someone who wants to continue being a virgin, even while with you. That's why they answered 'sex isn't everything'. I thought they were dodging the question but now I get it.
Honestly, first times are always awkward. I'd rather have it with some1 who most likely loves me enough to be in a legally-binding relationship/commitment with me than not. I never understand when ppl say 'what if you are married and find out you both are sexually incompatible?' Like, if you are in a pre-marital relationship, decide to have sex with your SO and you guys are not 'sexually compatible' would you break up? No, you would learn. First times are difficult and sex is a new skill. It takes time to master.

The biggest mistake i made in my life was being a virgin. Don't let it ruin your life as well. If you are afraid of having sex with women, you might be gay, but its 2013 being gay isn't a big deal anymore just be who you are, if you are straight be straight if you are gay be gay but being a virgin is nothing to be proud of i should Know i still am one and my life is miserable without it. He/she didn't say they were better. They simply said they were proud. Maybe it was an accomplishment because to them it was an example of their self-discipline. Maybe they're proud that they've stuck to a belief which is now no longer a social norm. There are many valid reasons to be proud, but I don't see how you could get "virgin superiority" from that comment.

In countries like Italy or Greece, being a virgin is strange..I'm not saying it's good or bad because, everyone has his/her time about loosing virginity, but if someone would have said ''i am a virgin'' and he's/she's up to 16, others would have isolated him/her a bit..

I wouldn't look down on someone who said that they were saving themselves for marriage but I certainly wouldn't date them. Sex isn't everything to me but its a part of the deal if we are going to date. I would date a virgin who is willing to lose their virginity with me, and I would wait a while if I needed to but I couldn't wait for years to get married before having sex. Like what if we get married and I hate the way that they have sex?
There is another reason to not bring up being a virgin. When I was young and I held to my morals like a pit-bull. I never said anything but people figured it out. I'm a Christian and back then, I was always clean and though I dressed with modesty, I dressed nicely.

I wouldn't date a virgin and the reason being is because if they lose it to me, they're getting everyone that is tied to me sexually. I've known 3 guys in their early 20s a virgin. Dated 2 of them. The first guy I met when I was 18years old, he was a virgin in his early 20s and I was not a virgin. We were just friends because I wasn't looking for anything serious and was afraid that if his first time was with me, he would regret it because it would be casual. I've always been more attracted to the bad boys and friend zone the nice and virgin guys. The other 2 virgin guys I kind of regret sleeping with because it was like their first time was wasted with me and they're getting everyone that I've been with who've they've been with. And it's a more expectation to stay with them even if your feelings are not getting deeper for them. It's more easy to get attached to your first. I'm still attached to my first from my teen years.
I don't understand why it shouldn't be a deal breaker if someone wants to wait until marriage. If someone believes in this this is not just saying something about their sex lives but about the way they think about sex and about life. I just don't believe in it at all and therefor I could never be with someone who wants to wait until marriage. That is not shallow or mean that is just being realistic.
