Racing with a C5 Corvette on Celtic Ruins track, with night driving and weather on, playing this music on background. One of the bests moments of my life.
It's a shame really. The old NFS games had this unique and elegant style to it that didn't make the games all about racing, every car in the game had its own detailed history and each individual one could be appreciated like art, especially to the soft delicate soundtrack that made you feel like you were in a car museum. I for one have had a special bond with the Lamborghini Diablo SV ever since I first saw it as a 5 year old kid playing NFS 3. Now it's just a regular racing franchise with random flashy cars and upbeat American Rock/Hip-Hop music.
Gocko Couldn't agree more :) Back then, it was about loving and appreciating cars. You can sense by playing the game that the people who made it really know what passion for cars is all about. Now it's just about money, money and more money.
Sammy, Ahmose I completely Agree. Back then, Need for Speed was created by people who loved cars, for people who loved cars. These old games had their own special charm and character. And it wasn't just about the cars. There were the awesome countryside tracks with each having their own special environment and feeling. When driving, you would actually start dreaming about driving a supercar through these road in real life. There was the menu design, the music and all the features which, when we saw it, we knew that there was a lot of real effort and passion poured into it. A passion that both the game makers and the players shared. After Hot Pursuit 2, it was just stupid tuning, 3 star bodykit and 4 star that and useless rap songs instead of the awesome soundtrack of the old games. With Underground, Need for Speed became less about racing and more about customization. To me, High Stakes will always be one of the greatest NFS games ever made and a million times better than hipster Underground.
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 was very disappointed for me, I couldn't drive with the cockpit camera, only 1 track with 2 cars to reach only 300 km/h, I liked much more the older NFS games, with specifications of the car, photos, and the Need For Speed II had even videos of the cars! things that disappear in NFS Hot Pursuit 2

But, for me, it belongs to Need For Speed 4. Greettings and lets keep enjoying this song in 2018 and beyond ;-)
That was a "wait a tick, I recognise this" followed by "oh shit, I was right" moment for me. It was definitely a pleasant surprise to hear this on Omega as I spent my youth listening to it in NFS4.

Для меня этот трек и сейчас отрыв. Он просто на лопатки кидает любую современную подделку.
The BEST track ever for NFS. I love cruising down the highway with the windows and sunroof open. This track blasting away as I chase the setting sun.
You can also listen this one in NHL 06 after game finish (without single-player game winning)
I remember Saki saying in an interview that he had music somewhere in that game. He did sound design work on it too. :)
This is ALWAYS my cabin song in ME2. Every time.
Καλο παραδισο σακη..
Saki was Greek.. I said to him „good paradise in heaven“
I used to wait around in the Afterlife bar just to listen to this on repeat
This song seriously takes me back.....
Mass Effect 2.
Gotta love the bass "boom ba ba ba boom boom bo-boom!"
