no. she doesnt have any idea and is not mentally ok bc of all she went through. she shouldnt be in the spotlight like this but they descended upon her immediately upon release. she didnt call the camera crews in, they were on her even before she got out making deals and getting her involved in stuff she shouldnt be worrying about she should be worrying about learning how to be a person in the world.
I feel like there's so much nuance to Gypsy's situation that people are glossing over. Part of Gypsy's abuse from her mother was being a local celebrity to their community. Dee Dee put Gypsy through bodily and psychological torture partially to get a house, vacations to Disney World, media coverage, etc. Gypsy was told for a majority of her life to play the role of a sick toddler or convinced that she was extremely sick. And now that she's out, experiencing real life and social media for the first time, of course navigating those things are confusing. Of course she's not going to know exactly what she wants. And Gypsy is probably experiencing her own thoughts of shaming herself for wanting to experience social media, but there's always gonna be that hyper pressure of being criticized for everything she says or does. Gypsy doesn't understand how toxic social media can be. But even still, social media can have its own positivity. I think Gypsy craves the validation social media and fame can bring, but she's scared the negative and often harsh feedback as well.
She's also the one who calls reporters/journalists on herself sometimes.

@LunaLilyEnnui i am sympathetic towards her situation.... but she's very manipulative. especially when she talks about the past and how inconsistent it is when you really look at it. especially when it comes to the boyfriend that murdered the mother and how she potrays him as a cold blood thirsty killer with no regrets but footage and prison interviews kinda blow a huge hole in that claim. yeah she's a victim of her mother but idk. i kinda dont trust her.

@LunaLilyEnnuiyou can’t assume she is well though just because she’s done a little bit of therapy. Imo she is unwell. Considering the amount of trauma she has gone through in life, including prison. Being constantly surrounded by manipulative people, and you tend to pick up certain traits/tendencies of those around you when you’re with them long enough. So I think it’s very reasonable to say she isn’t well and is manipulating the public. Intentionally or not idk, but you can tell she is if you pay close attention. I feel bad for what her mother did, but jumping onto social media trying to be famous, doesn’t really help the narrative.
When someone truly wants to spread awareness and help ... YOU START A FOUNDATION. You make every interview about the foundation, about how many other people are victims of someone with Munchausen syndrome by proxy, talk about how many medical doctors that just did procedures that were unnecessary (and fuck'n sue the ones that 'treated you' ...); talk about anything but you personal private life. You can have social media for your foundation / cause, and you can have private accounts for your family and close friends. Also, there are far too many points in the doc when it's almost like people are acting like she was wrongfully convicted.

We all know she's capable and willing to manipulate someone to do her dirty work for her so yeah I agree he needs to watch out. She's clearly not mental stable because of what she's done, idc what justification of child abuse she has and tries to use, plenty of kids are actually physically abused and have things way worse than anything she went through done to them by their parents, like girls having their dads kids multiple times and being a sister-mom to their sibling-child or kids being chained to their beds and starved and beaten, and those kids don't murder them because they're not mentally insane.
Ryan did not held her hostage for 20 years and give her medical procedures that ruined her body and pulled out her teeth and made her sit in a wheelchair for her whole life. So he’s safe.

exactly, it's very easy to understand. People in a better place choose clout and fame for money as it's way easier, so why would someone with no skills or experience who was tortured most of their life easily switch to a normal 9 to 5 job (that they couldn't even get hired for)

you think ex felons don’t work? plenty work, i worked in a restaurant with a guy who had a felony battery charge against his ex. he couldn’t even leave the town we were in yet, he was court ordered to stay within certain limits. i was the only woman in the kitchen at the time and i never had any issues with him, he had learned his lesson for sure. he discussed how he wished he didn’t have the charges because it limited what restaurants he could work at.
Most factories hire felons all the time! I found myself dating one who happened to live next door and not mention the felony until later. He was offered factory jobs left and right while my ass was struggling with my Bachelor's Degree and not so much as a speeding ticket fighting for jobs below my education and experience level! THAT isn't stopping her! So, a record is not preventing her from getting a job. Besides, she was married and a housewife. She didn't need a job like my single self does! Now she may or may not have another man to support her but she also has MILLIONS from profiting off murdering her mother. Why actually earn money when total morons will hand you millions for doing jack shit that doesn't actually contribute to society and society could damn well do without! Such as social media and effing TikTok! Or have a "reality" tv show. This world is beyond screwed up! Don't make excuses for her! She doesn't get a pass for all this BS because of what she went through as a child! She is just lying and manipulating just like she was raised to do!

@@TrinaNixon-u4p I definitely get where you are coming from, but it's recorded and public knowledge that the mother FORCED he to stay in the chair, even at one point going off on some stranger because they thought she saw Gypsy get up, then blew up on Gypsy. That's not including handcuffing her to furniture, forcing procedures on her, and shaving her head, all to make her look sick and get attention from it. Gypsy was trying to get away from it when she met the boyfriend, who her mother IMMEDIATELY cuffed her to a bed (IIRC) and made sure she couldn't use communication devices. Somehow, at some point, she got back in touch with the BF behind her mothers back, and that's when it was planned. She definitely IS a victim of her mothers abuse, but she has had time to grow from it and away from the situation, and the growing presence in media has made her go back to doing things she had thought she could break, but the trauma is truly there.

That means her mother willingly committed attempted murder, knowing that her daughter could have died under the knife at any moment during these unnecessary procedures..... Her mother attempted to murder her with unnecessary procedures for over 18 years, and she finally decided that she did not want anymore stuff to happen to her. I really pray that nobody that you love ever becomes a victim. I'll remember her as the victim of her mother.

The chance that any of you guys understand the abuse that she went through is very, very, slim.

This story is huge but yet, there’s so much I found that I didn’t know yet. Danielle Kirsty (crime channel) has a 2 hour long video that goes into her mom and her, with the different illnesses that were made up. Definitely worth the check out if you want more of the story to understand the current stuff going on
I like Danielle but she didn’t give all the info available and included some info that is unproven. That episode unfortunately came off as very biased in favor of Gypsy in my opinion.
Which it’s totally fine for Danielle or anyone else to be pro-Gypsy or what ever take they personally have, but some of things she brought up as “facts” when they’re not, while also ignoring other confirmed details, rubbed me the wrong way.
I’m not for or against Gypsy, it’s not a black and white situation and I wish people would stop treating it that way.

She has 4 great videos and she provides the proof and sources of her exposures. The channel is ran by a retired police detective and a registered psych nurse and their work together, along with speaking with the detectives that worked GRB case, is amazing! Totally worth a watch.

@@susanschubert1222 Gypsy went to hang out with her sister and told her that Ryan finished inside her and her sister was worried about her getting pregnant so they went and got her the morning after but she FaceTimed Ryan in the car with Mia and cameras to tell him she told Mia and was getting morning after and he got upset so when she got home they got in a fight and Gypsy recorded on her phone of him being upset because she not only told her sister that but also national television

She was like a child actress, only she was famous for being sick and trying to enjoy life until we learned her mother was destroying her for clout and she merc'd her to escape. An extreme option but the only one she thought she had. She knew it was wrong and thought she deserved to go to jail, but a lot of people who saw it all play out and learned what it all was wanted her released, we decided that the mom deserved it and still believe so.
I wish Gypsy Rose was left alone after her release, but I understand the fascination and her affinity for the cameras. She was dealt a really shitty hand and I think the fame is Celebrity America's apology to her.

I hated to be that person but I was thinking the same thing. He was practically gushing over the attention she is receiving and keeps saying that he can't believe he's married to her. PS the show is going to spin it that way and make them look bad. It’s called editing.. was he a little test and aggressive when it came to the airport thing yeah but what people don’t know is that there is a lot of crap going on behind scenes that was making everything really tense. Also gypsy lied and said that he freaked out about the fridge and everything he did not was actually very normal reaction to what she was doing. My husband would’ve gotten upset if I was throwing away Tupperware and pillows without communicating with him. And I would’ve been upset with him if he did the same.
Also people don’t know that he found out Christy told gypsy about Ken, and he was upset that his stepmother was purposely trying to put a wedge between him and his wife . That would make anyone irritated, so he was pretty calm after finding all this.
It’s funny how people are just blinding themselves to gypsy and not actually looking at the facts of the case she’s lied so many times and her manipulation tactics I will say very convincing to the mass Public. She’s done it for her entire life. and if people actually study the facts of this case which I had to do for criminology, they would realize and uncover some very unsettling facts.
Usually gypsy is the one that likes to be in control. She was the one who manipulated a man who is on the spectrum with a low IQ and treat the schizophrenia time to. M*rder her old mother while she was asleep. When the nick pleaded with her to just run away with him and he kept telling her no for two years, but she made it sound like it was life and death when reality she could’ve walked out that door. She wasn’t a teenager when she did this crime. She was 23 years old.

Someone said she could legally change her name, but I don’t think she could because she’s on parole. She’s doing what she can to survive outside of prison and I’m not mad at her for it.
Her mother kept her in a child-like state until Gypsy was in her 30s. Then she went to prison where her development continued to be arrested. She's only now having to grow up and be an adult. People see an adult woman and expect her to behave like one, but she's really a 13 year old.

Thank you Ken for bringing that up. We got sold a house in GA and it was cheap and a lot of the damages were hidden/realtor didnt repair anything at all after the person left. Dishwasher was basically trashed, marks on the wall hidden with paint. ALWAYS HAVE SOMEONE INSPECT BEFORE YOU BUY.

They wouldn’t even do that nowadays, instead they would inject Botox to paralyze the glands. You’d have to get them re-injected a few times a year. I do drug prior authorizations for a pediatric pulmonology clinic and frequently have to get glycopyrrolate approved for kids with excess secretions (sialorrhea) who are unable to protect their airways. The extra saliva puts them at risk of aspirating into their lungs and causing pneumonia. These kids usually aren’t able to swallow correctly or cough strongly enough to prevent that from happening so that’s why they take medication to dry up the secretions instead. When I read their charts many of them are now using Botox injections.

I 100% agree with ken that producers must be staging paparazzi. Yes shes famous and talked about a lot, but she not the kind of famous where people are following her every move, its not that lucrative to post pictires amd stories about her daily life like they do other celebries constantly on the front page, like taylor swift or the kardashians or super models. Yes those people alao pay for paparazzi to folow them and get good pictures and publicity, but you see the times where theyre followed and they don't even know someones taking a picture of them because they look worse than normal and like regular human beings with flaws.

doctors that tried to intervene were met with mountains of fabricated evidence, convincing stories, or deedee would simply switch doctors. not to mention they all thought gypsy was mentally handicapped so her word wouldn’t mean much
I'm actually surprised they even approved any of the surgeries but at the same time her mom was bouncing from doctor to doctor to avoid detection
The mom made up the excuse medical documents and conditions were lost bc of hurricane Katrina. There was one doc who did try to investigate and expose the mom but unfortunately no one took him seriously

My armchair psych theory is Gypsy is still very much influenced by her mother’s actions. She grew up only knowing how to be a victim, to get attention no matter what, and she didn’t get any therapy in jail to unlearn all that. So now instead of pretending to be sick she’s going along with the survivor story, constantly bringing up her exes etc. to get attention. And all that praise she got while in prison definitely has gone to her head. She tries to come off as she doesn’t want the fame and try to say the right things but you can tell by her demeanor she’s enjoying it cause it’s all she knows. Shes still very much her mother’s daughter unfortunately

a friend of mine&her mom had lunch together with gypsy&her mom at boston children's hospital just a couple years before. she said gypsy was very shy&quiet, but sweet,&her mom seemed very affectionate&caring. no res flags what-so-ever.

She hasn't had time to grow up at all, going to prison does NOT help people grow up, it stops time for them almost and when they get out it's like where they left off (besides a bit of self reflection and other things, but alot of people are stuck acting like the age they were when they were incarcerated).

Gypsy is like a social experiment in context of internet fame… as a frail, antisocial girl, she was subjected to so much trauma. After her mothers murder, she was locked up for so many years. Then upon release, she had the internet fans and trolls waiting for her every thought. And of course, this has snowballed way out of proportion.
Removed her saliva glands which I believe led to her losing all of her teeth. She not an angel and certainly not innocent but she did go through some horrific stuff.
I'm very glad you caught on to the fact that she licks her lips so much because of an unnecessary medical procedure that her mother put her through.... These are kind of the reasons why she ended up doing what she did, Her mother was able to con almost all of the doctors in to removing body parts of hers, and sticking feeding tubes in and this all began when she was four years old.... I am in no way saying that she deserves all the spotlight she has, They should have let her come out and heal, in peace.... But, we were all so interested, and we all still are.... the reality is she did have many, many procedures done that were extraordinarily unnecessary that have caused her damage to this day... The poor girl doesn't have teeth in her mouth because of her mom. 😢 she needs to fade out and live a normal life before something even worse occurs.
F y I gypsy's mom used to put stuff in her mouth so that she would salivate excessively, in order to convince the doctors to do this unnecessary surgery, and during other instances she would give gypsy medication to simulate these medical problems that she was trying to convince the doctors about, she was a master manipulator and it definitely rubbed off on gypsy too.
Nick wanted to rape her moms dead body and fantasized about rape also. I believe he had child material on his computer, too. But I'm not a fan of her. I just have a little sympathy. I definitely agree with your opinion on it, too, though. Just wanted to let you guys know these little details. They actually make the story clearer.
It wasn’t an unnecessary procedure. Gypsy does have a chromosome disorder. That’s real. Her father admitted it and her results are in her medical recorders that got leaked. They were also not removed but reduced. If you watch gypsys lives her lips are always SOAKED with saliva. She has the opposite problem with dry mouth. Gypsy lies a lot and claimed it was an unnecessary surgery, it wasn’t unnecessary. There is a reason she isn’t suing the hospital/doctors that treated her, her procedures were necessary due to the chromosome disorder

@@aoneal3723 it's very awful. She put locks on the food cabinets. And took gypsy in the dpctors malnourished, telling them that gypsy refused to eat.... Imagine the trauma in your head, to be sitting there with your mother who first off is overweight herself, so shes clearly eating and has starved you and is now telling the Doctors that you refuse to eat.... All so that she could put a feeding tube, and force gypsy to ingest pills or whatever she wanted to put into gypsy. . . . I'm sorry, but we watch stories about stuff like this and we all usually stand up for the victim.. I definitely don't think she needs to be famous. She's way too immature and she has lived such a hard life that what she really needs is to be living a private life, with forced counciling.
Her mother was a sick individual. Nobody is doubting that. Munchausen syndrome by proxy isn't widely studied. That being said ... I don't understand how the doctors and hospitals ... even now ... are getting away anonymously. I also dont think we are getting the full story about the saliva gland removal - i have zero doubt that her mother caused the symptoms, BUT there might have been an infection that justified the removal of the glands (like from the feeding tubes or tooth extraction) doctors are not simply suppose to remove or do unnecessary procedures; and if she had a doctor / hospital that did there should be an inquiry, loss of license, financial compensation should be done.
Bottom line, She should have (and it's not too late) started a foundation and had all social media and public interviews focused on what she is claiming to be her cause. Cause it is an interesting cause and many aspects of it are more common than people would suspect. I would have loved it, if she took sometime, organized and got a good team, then started doing interviews with EXPERTS and other victims that would have been the best rebound. She needed to not put herself in the media like she did (I know money is factor but if she truly and her family truly believe in her cause honestly money to live would not be a factor), therapist, and media team.
I do agree that Gypsy has adopted many of her mother's manipulation techniques, but I do have to say she does seem self aware. My worry is that all the work that she did in prison with therapy for this self awareness is going to be erased because some people (like that interviewer... sssshhh, her husband, seemingly members of family, and the loads of strangers that follower her around) are repeatedly acting like she was wrongfully convicted or that the murder was justified.

I am very happy for her and glad she is not going to let anyone control her anymore. I’m sure that anyone that’s ever been in a relationship like that I would honestly hope you would get out before something bad happens to you she’s been through a lot in her life and no one knows how that feels until you go through it you’re self . I’m happy her family is on her side and her dad is doing everything he can to help and give her love and support and just being her dad to his daughter that’s something he never got to do. I’m just so sorry that her mother put her through all of these horrible situations and no one or any of the doctors did not do anything about it and I know that they seen signs of it. I’m glad that she has a good support system cause that is something she never had before and that is sad. Watching her dad helping her learn to ride a bicycle and driving the boat I saw how happy it made them both that’s awesome.. I wish her all the happiness and joy and peace. 😍🙏🦋

You do realize... No one is holding a gun to your head and saying you HAVE to appear in public? You have the right to just say, "Alright, I served my time, I'm moving away and getting away from everything." Sure you may get some people looking for ya, but its a lot easier to hide when not surrounded by cameramen! You have a choice whether you have a phone, whether you have social media and especially whether or not you go on a TV show.
She could make easy money with alllllll that, instead of working a job that'll pay her 10 dollars an hour for shitty labor and garbage benefits, someone can hate being on social media but money talks and I'm sure the right amount would make you do something you don't like💀

I was violently abused for the first 14 years of my life. Her mother did not do a good enough job of isolating her if Gypsy Rose had a boyfriend, ever. See, I never once considered such a moral action against my family because I had NO SUPPORT from ANYWHERE! Not at home, or school, no friends, nothing. Powerless. The fact Gypsy felt powerful enough to not only defend herself but to send her male Thrall out to do heinous acts on her behalf flies in the face of total constraint.
Her mother must have only allowed her daughter to have a boyfriend because of the positive PR it might have added to the whole story at the time she was using Gypsy for her own media focus. I don't know. I am 54 now and still don't have such a big smile on my face. I hope I manage to get better and stop looking for predation behind every shrub.
Gypsy had something you didn’t have growing up: the internet. That’s how she met the boyfriend that would kill her mom. She kept the relationship a secret from her mother because she never would have allowed it.
