      @Ramyhassin 5 лет назад +1

      Faizan Ashraf 👋🏻, let me break it down for you.
      A PayPal account I basically a digital wallet that you can use for online payments. You can connect your already owned credit cards or receive and send money to it.
      It’s secure because, all you have to provide is your email address and name.
      If you’d like to purchase a programming course, which good luck with that :), you have to see that little PayPal icône in the payment method. If you don’t see it, chances are you’ll just use your regular credit card.

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  5 лет назад

      As Rami mentioned, you'll need to see the PayPal option provided for payment at the place you're purchasing the course in order to make the payment that way.
      Do you see that option, and you're stuck actually making the payment? Or do you not see the PayPal option at all?

    Please help ASAP.
    I have been trying to setup my new account for PayPal but all in vain with response 'the card am using is not allowed for this service' yet my bank tells me other clients are using similar cards with no issues.
    What should I do???

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  6 лет назад +5

      Is it a debit card, a credit card, a gift card, or what kind of card exactly? When you say other clients are using "similar cards" it sounds like it's a unique type of card in some way..??
      If it's Visa/MasterCard branded there should be no issue. Are you simply trying to add the card to your PayPal wallet, or is it asking you to enter a card when you are setting up a specific feature within PayPal? It says "not allowed for this service", so for example, are you specifically trying to sign up for PayPal Pro or something like that when it asks this? Or just general add credit card?

      Am using Visa/debit card for barclays bank and Eco bank.
      Could it be because am in Uganda,East Africa??
      If so then which specific bank in Uganda has its services affiliated to PayPal so I may chose to access that.
      Am in desperate need of your help because my work is @ a standstill for close to one and a half months
      now.

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  6 лет назад +2

      It looks like Uganda is limited to sending funds only, so there are some restrictions with those accounts, but you should be able to add a credit card to use as a funding source for sending payments. One thing you can try to clearing your browser cache / cookies. Sometimes PayPal's site can get messed up that way, so clearing can resolve issues like this sometimes. If it keeps happening after you'll need to contact PayPal directly and see if they can help you figure out what's going on.

    THANK YOU

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  5 лет назад +4

      You can use it just like a bank account, and keep as much money as you want in there. That said, I would not recommend that you hold much cash inside your PayPal account. Move it to your regular bank account on a regular basis. That way if any sort of a payment hold or issue with your account comes up, there won't be a bunch of cash in there that could get held up.
      Same goes for any payment processor or only system you are using that holds your cash.

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  5 лет назад +1

      If you use your debit card directly with lots of different sellers, then every one of those sellers could be (even though they aren't supposed to) saving that card data in their own database. This is not secure, as it opens the door for your data to get into the hands of bad people who can cause problems for you, and the more places your card data is floating around out there, the more chances this could happen.
      If you have a debit card linked to your PayPal account, then when you pay all these different people they won't have any of that actual card data. All they will have is your email address and maybe a shipping address. As such, it's a lot more secure for you.

      There is good and bad to this. Having all of your volume with one processor can allow you to negotiate cheaper rates and save a lot of money on fees. It also gets you better account managers and access to better support. However, it's definitely recommended to have another processor in line just in case something does go wrong and you need to switch over quickly.

    so I don't need to add a credit card or bank account and PayPal will just store my earnings by itself? I was under the impression that you NEEDED to add a 3rd party form of banking (like the credit/debit cards or a bank account) if that's the case I've just been sitting on a empty PayPal account and receiving money though cash only and making it harder on my customers at times.

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  6 лет назад +3

      That is correct. When you receive a PayPal payment, that cash will sit directly inside your PayPal account until you spend it or transfer it to a bank or card of some sort.
      It's typically not recommended that you keep a very high balance in the PayPal account, though. Just in case any account holds come up for any reason, you don't want a bunch of cash in there getting locked up.

    • @angelleye

      Yes, you can use PayPal funds only. However, this could result in some limitations. Without a bank account / credit card added, PayPal's system cannot verify/confirm your account and your shipping address. This could result in them not being able to cover sellers with Seller Protection, which could result in sellers canceling your orders.
      It's really best to go ahead and get a bank account and card linked up. Here's a separate video/article I have for a tip on that: www.angelleye.com/paypal-quick-tip-keep-bank-accounts-safe/

    • @angelleye

      Well, it would go into your PayPal balance, and then you could transfer the money from PayPal to the card. PayPal recently added the "auto-sweep" functionality to the user interface, so you may be able to turn that on in your account and have it automatically transfer your PayPal balance to the card each day, for example. I haven't specifically tested if that feature will work with cards.

    Im a new seller on eBay. In fact, I just listed my 1st item today. It all looks good except for the payment method. It says "seller only accepts payment by Paypal." Obviously I did something wrong when setting up my item page. I never wanted to limit potential buyers with valid major credit cards to only be able to buy from me using PayPal. Can I revise the payment method part or is it too late? I'll cancel the sale and start over if not. Thank you.

      I don't do a lot of selling myself, so it's bee a while since I've looked at the eBay preferences / settings. Somewhere in there, though, should be a section where you can adjust your payment settings for eBay payments.
      It's possible they have that at the item level, too, in which case you should be able to adjust it by revising your listing.
      If all else fails, yeah, you could just cancel the listing and start it again making sure to set payment methods the way you want, but I don't think you should have to cancel in order to get that done. It should be available while revising.

    can you use PayPal money from your app in a physical store?

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  5 лет назад +2

      There are a number of ways you could do that. If you have a PayPal account debit card, you could hook that up to Google or Apple Pay and then choose that card as the funding source when you pay for something that way.
      You can also hook PayPal directly up to Google Pay so that you don't even need a debit card. Although, you get 1% cashback when you use the debit card, so you might prefer that anyway.
      Another option would be to get the PayPal credit card, which offers 2% cash back on everything. Hook that up to your payments app and use it for spending, and then use your PayPal cash to pay off the card. That is what I prefer so that I can maximize my cashback, but if you aren't good with credit cards (ie. pay them off every month) then you should stick with one of the other options.

      Another option would be to use the PayPal credit card (not debit), which pays a 2% cashback bonus. Then use the PayPal funds to pay off the card in full each month. Only do this if you're able to pay it in full, though. If you start paying interest that kills the whole plan.

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  6 лет назад

      Sorry to hear that one incident made you decide this after 15+ years of successful business. Like any huge corporation, customer services can be a bit of a hit and miss scenario. Depending on who you get on the phone or the other end of a support ticket you might not get the sort of help you might expect.
      That's no fun when it happens, but if you submit a new ticket or call again to get somebody else that can help. One key word, too, is "escalate". If you're not getting anywhere with the person you're talking with you can kindly request to escalate the call. This will typically get you on the phone with somebody with more experience that can answer questions more knowledgeably.
      Also, I'm curious who you decided to take payments with now..?? I'm also curious about the scenario you encountered that turned into this bad experience..?? I would highly recommend that you study what happened from all angles and ask yourself if you truly feel you would have had any different experience with another payment processor. I've worked with numerous payment processors, and they all have similar policies when it comes to funding holds, chargeback handling, etc.

    • @NoName-dn8nv

      Angell EYE customer service is always india. Asked for a manager several times they put me on hold, then the call mysteriously disconnects. Agents never call you back so you have to waste another 30 minutes to get another call.
      No other company I have ever worked with keeps your money for no reason. No other company has customer service as bad as paypal period. Stop trying to portray paypal as something positive. Your company outsources work to shitty countries, you hang on to people's money as long as possible in order to collect interest. You put more effort into this post than any employee ever put towards my account. You asked what I use now. Check or money order or cash on person no fees no bullshit. Go fuck youself and your shitty company. Here's a link to your 1 star shotty rating
      www.consumeraffairs.com/online/paypal_02.html

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  6 лет назад +1

      First, I do not work for PayPal. I am a software developer that specializes in payment processing, and after working with many different payment processors I have grown partial to PayPal because they are best when comparing them all to each other based on pricing, brand recognition, ease of use and integration, seller and buyer protection, etc. If there was a better payment provider out there I would be flaunting them instead of PayPal.
      They do not "keep your money for no reason." If your funds are being held it's because red flags were raised that show your account or particular transaction(s) are high risk. To protect themselves and their users they put holds on funds when this happens. They ALL do this sort of thing. The only difference is that PayPal has nearly 250 million accounts they're working with, so even when a very small percentage of people have a bad experience you're going to see more reports of it than other processors simply because of the numbers.
      Check or money order...cash in person..?? You're only hurting yourself by doing that. You will absolutely lose sales if you do not provide PayPal, credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc. as payment options on your website or applications.
      Current numbers are showing 237 million active accounts. This page you linked has a grand total of 1938 reviews, including all of the 2/3/4/5 star reviews, so even a smaller number of 1 star reviews. That is such a small sample size it's essentially obsolete. Also, like usual, the vast majority of these reviews show that the person was clearly ignorant about standard procedures for accepting payments online no matter who you're processing them through. A little bit of general education on standards would eliminate most of these problems people are having.
      If you would share some of your details I'm sure I could provide some feedback that would help you avoid similar problems in the future.

    • @NoName-dn8nv
      @NoName-dn8nv 6 лет назад

      Angell EYE sample size too small bullshit. Those angry customers aren't obsolete. How many million examples would one need.
      Here's one example. My account has zero dollars. An item I want is starting bid $1000 I'm willing to go as high as $1400 so I put $1500 in my paypal to cover shipping as well. Five days later I win the item and with shipping its $1150. I pay immediately and try to move the 350 balance back to my account. But my account has now been flagged, my balance held for 21 days. Why? No other company withholds a person's own money. I must have called 20 times on that one instance over the 21 day hold. I was given different answers at different times ranging from you'll just have to wait to it will be in your account within 24 hours. No accountability with them. Also if you don't work for them don't spew their policies I'm sure their legal dept wouldn't like that

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  6 лет назад +1

      You still haven't shared any information about your scenario that you're upset about. You say to do a payment gateway with actual bank. Well, if you do that you'll be paying a lot more in fees than you will with PayPal, UNLESS you happen to be doing a lot of physical card transactions through a point of sale terminal. If that is your situation, then yes, an Interchange Plus type of account would be better. In that case, though, I would recommend Braintree as it will be much better than a local bank in most cases.
      To say PayPal is bleeding money shows your ignorance. You're on here under "No Name", using lovely language, and you obviously don't know what you are talking about. PayPal is bleeding money? Their financial statements show billions of dollars of free cash flow which they've been using to acquire other companies for billions of dollars and still have billions left. I'd love to be bleeding money that way.
      The reason there are so many bad comments in places you mention is a two part thing. First, as I already said, PayPal has nearly 250 million active accounts. Even a very small percentage of complaints would look like a lot if you go digging for it. Also, it's very unfortunate that people like yourself go around talking all this trash without any true knowledge of what they're talking about, further planting false information in people's minds when they had a bad experience. It's a shame, really. Again, if you go with a local bank gateway and the same situation happens you'll end up in the same exact boat if you don't change your procedures to avoid whatever happened, which you won't tell us about....which is telling.
      I'm not blindly ignoring any negative. I am here to help people avoid the negative. As I mentioned before, I am only partial to PayPal because in my experience of using over 50 different merchant providers to process hundreds of millions of dollars for clients, they are the best. If another company comes along and can give me a better product and service than PayPal I would gladly utilize their tools and help people to see those advantages as well.

      It sounds like the texts are coming from a scammer pretending to be PayPal. Unfortunately, there's nothing PayPal can do about that. It has nothing to do with them other than people trying to use their brand to accomplish the scam. I would ignore them and block those numbers, which should help stop them from continuing.

      Just to be clear, I am with Angell EYE, a completely separate company from PayPal. For nearly 20 years I have specialized in payment processing, and PayPal is my recommendation for all of the reasons I mention in this video (and more.) Because of that I have built a close relationship with PayPal, however, I continue to study other options and offer neutral feedback to my clients. The fact is PayPal is still the best, so yes, we highly recommend it.

    what if PayPal gets hacked

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  5 лет назад +2

      The odds of this happening are very low, and they have withstood the test of time. They have many people trying to hack them every day, of course, and they've been unsuccessful.
      The only successful "hacks", which is pretty much true for any system these days, comes primarily through social engineering. This is where people will reach out to your personally one way or another, and trick you into giving up the information they need to get into your account specifically.
      In the unlikely case that PayPal's system was directly compromised, I would treat it like I would losing my physical wallet. Any credit/debit cards that I have added to my account would need to be canceled and replaced immediately. My PayPal login/password would need to be changed immediately.
      That said, if you follow the procedures I lay out in my other video about how to protect your bank account, you won't have anything in your PayPal wallet that is vulnerable anyway. ruclips.net/video/BfzpvvmWlSw/видео.html
      Still, the same procedures could be taken to clean up any mess left behind from such a hack.
      So, the answer is that you need to do some planning ahead, which you're already doing, so that's great! Take a look at the other video I linked above, and feel free to comment again if you have any more questions or concerns.

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  5 лет назад

      If somebody sends you money it will go into your PayPal account balance as cash. From there you can transfer it to a linked bank account or card.
      That said, I have seen quite a few complaints in the community about transfers to a card not always working smoothly. Not because of PayPal, but because of the card banks.
      I would recommend that you link a bank account. If you're concerned about that, check out this other video on how to protect your account(s): ruclips.net/video/BfzpvvmWlSw/видео.html

      If you want to transfer directly to a card you would have to do that manually and there could be fees involved. If you link a bank account you can transfer there (and you can setup automated transfers if you want) and then load your card any other way you usually would.

    Okay so I found some guy selling a PS5, and some XBOX Series X. He wants $700 for the PS5 and we negotiated to bring the price down to $600. So then he tells me,” not sure if you’re comfortable with this but I’m not shipping thru OfferUp at the moment, they are not fdic secured and two of my payment were stolen in transit recently. Could we use PayPal or cashapp since they’re fdic certified and we both know we have insurance on our transaction.” (I copied and pasted his exact message) So then I agree to proceed with PayPal.. I haven’t sent him the $600 yet but I told him to not pack the PS5 up until he gets to the post office and I asked him to take a video in the post office of him doing so. Did I do okay?

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  5 лет назад

      Depending on the bank, you may be able to link it using your online banking credentials. Otherwise, it will make two small deposits into your account. Then when you see those deposits show up, you verify the amounts with PayPal to complete the verification.
      For the card, you just need to manually add the card. Make sure the billing address on the card is added as a shipping address in your PayPal account so that it will be a Confirmed address.

      When you make a payment to somebody it could be pending due to e-check if you didn't have funds available in PayPal or CC balance. If that wasn't it, then it could be pending on their side until they prove delivery of the item. That would not be your problem, and they should follow the proper procedures to ship and get their funds released.

    • @angelleye
      @angelleye  4 года назад +1

      The only reason a shipping address would be required is if the seller needed to ship you whatever you are buying. You will get emails from the seller and PayPal about such payments, but nothing physically in the mail.
      If you aren't buying something that needs to be shipped, then the seller could setup their payment request where shipping is not required. Then it wouldn't even ask you for a shipping address. Depending on how they set it up, it may give you the option on your side to say "no shipping required" during checkout, and then you wouldn't have to provide one.
