I'm a VMIX guy, personally. I get the point of using a hardware dedicated switcher, but I find that the software solution has so much more flexibility. My hardware consists of a keyboard and a steamdeck elite for hotkeys (3 sdi cameras) Works well!
We all have different needs. I understand that there are many situations where software switchers make sense. For me, though, I quite often (1) need a dozen inputs simultaneously which would cost a fortune in capture cards, and (2) do IMAG so the additional delay caused by software switchers is unacceptable.
I liked this episode and found the conversational format between Whit and you, Doug, to be very informative. I think this is because Whit asked a lot of basic questions and you responded at a level that she could absorb. Some viewers may think it too basic, but that’s content and not format/style. As Whit gains more experience, this format could develop into a very informative series. Thanks to you both (keep asking questions Whit- that’s key).
Yea, good job , but I want to know how to create macros for supersource on ATEM 4 M/E please, i will be grateful if I can get a complete tutorial or manual on this.
You can build macros that manipulate the SuperSource on ATEM switchers, but if you want them to animate you'll quickly find that your options there are limited. H2R Layouts from Here To Record (layouts.heretorecord.com/) will build ATEM macros for specific layouts, and if that's what you're looking for (no animation) that should cover your needs nicely.
How the cost of broadcast gear has come down over the last two decades, is quite amazing. I remember just one DigiBeta record/playback with all the necessary additions, was £250k. Our post house had 8 on one room, feeding 4 edit stations.
I would appreciate a session focusing on the application of the ATEM Mini to create a multi-camera recording, utilizing chroma key with lower third titles and stills.
@@djp_video , when I follow streamteam.link/Cat=Controllers I get to a page that lists links such as djp.li/xk24. When I click on djp.li/xk24 I get an error page that says "The short URL you have been given is not valid. Please double-check and try again."
I'm looking for an affordable matrix switcher. Maybe four inputs and three outputs. for controlling different images to different projectors or the same image on all projectors. Any advice?
11:45 perfect cut to her reaction. 😆
Thank you for making this series, some of the most useful content on RUclips.

We'll get there at some point
Entertaining and informative. The short URLs for switchers are broken on the website however.
streamteam.link/bmdswitchers ? It seems to be working

This has been fixed. Thanks!

I haven't really used anything that small. Most of my experience is with much larger routing switchers, so I'm not sure what to recommend.
Do you use preview mode for live music videos? For fast moving rock type shows I would think it would be a bit slow and multi-view would be better.
For very fast cuts, yeah, cutting on the program bus isn’t uncommon. I still try to use Preview whenever I can though.
Can u please explain in upcoming videos how to configure Xkeys
What do you need help with? I just configured my panel last month for the first time.
Hey! What cameras are you using? This looks amazing!
Sony PXW-Z150 and PXW-X70.
Couldn‘t you just use an AUX-Port to create another program feed? So you wouldn‘t need a 2 m/e switcher...
That's fine if you only want to cut between sources. You can't do dissolves or use upstream or downstream keys on Aux outputs, among other things.
This is such a great resource, thank you Doug and Whit =)
