I used to be a massage therapist. One day I worked a Friday, which wasn’t my regular schedule, and I was set up with a client who didn’t normally come in on fridays. This was right after a particularly hard thanksgiving. Within the first few moments of the session, she says “I don’t usually do this kind of thing but the message is so strong, do you mind if I tell you something?” And she proceeded to give me messages from my deceased grandmothers, a dear friend who was murdered, and even said a friend of mine by name who had died in an accident. This woman didn’t know me from a hole in the wall and I certainly wasn’t searching for connection to the dead at that point. She said thing’s literally no one would know. I’m convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that she was directly in contact with my spirits and had that message for me at a time I needed it the most.
I was 15 when my uncle passed. It was very traumatic. Our family does a rosery after someone passes for nine days so they could go to “heaven”. It was the 9th day and we had finished the rosary that afternoon, and the next day I had to go to school. That night I had dreamed of my uncle. He told me he loved me and he will be watching. When I woke up I had chills and I saw a ball of light. It was so bright it filled up the whole room. And it disappeared in front of my eyes. Also, my son sees ghosts. He once saw my uncle and he described him in detail. When I showed him a picture he said “yup, that's him.” he sees things he can't explain and I believe him. I believe there's another world out there we can't see and when you do you have a gift.
Anyone interested in NDEs should look up Bruce Greyson,MD at UVA. He is an authority on them and has studied NDEs for over 40 years in a scientific manner. He has a number of interviews on RUclips and wrote a book entitled "After".
Leslie is so wonderful… I have listened to her on Coast to Coast, too!! One of MY shows for 27 years!!! No NDE’s for me… But, I did hear a voice call out my name (and, a very shaken co-worker heard it too!!!)❤️💫❤️💫❤️💫
Two people, very close to me, who I have no reason to believe would make up stories - told me of their NDEs. So the phenomena is definitely real. And what is increasingly more evidentiary, is these experiences can and do occur when the brain is obviously not in any working state order. So that is the question, what is consciousness? What is consciousness??
I haven't had a near death experience but I have had a premonition which involved death. I am a sceptical person but I have never been more sure about anything in my life that the premonition was real. What was the most striking thing about it was that my first thought when waking up from the premonition was "oh no, this will happen", which shocked me. I had never thought that before when waking up from a dream. I knew the dream was about death and a family member, so I was afraid that family member was going to die, but it was somebody very close to him. I realized later that the premonition was from the gathering after the funeral, because of things happening which was the same as in the dream. In the premonition I had the sensation that several beings said to me " we're going to take this person, it's their time to leave"
I was 4 years old and I was drowning in a deep natural swimming hole. My only thought was, “oh, I’m going down” as I thought if I moved my arms a certain way, I’d have been able to swim. As I went further down, I relaxed into the sheer wonder of the experience and felt very calm until hands violently pulled me back into the air, sun, and sound. The woman was screaming at me and smacking me. I just thought, “put me down, what did I do?” 😅
I did stop breathing from an asthma attack when I was in my early 20’s. I don’t think I was technically brain dead though. Either way, I don’t remember anything after I passed out from lack of O2.
"all the religions believe that life continues after death... it is universal".... yeah, but I dont imagine a religion would ever become popular if it preached that death was the end 😄 Like nobody would ever buy a self-help book whose message was "Nothing will ever change and you'll always be miserable"...
Besides the fact that religions also preach other aspects of human life besides "death" - and there are actually some religions that don't believe in a life-after-death - the "wishful thinking" Skeptic argument does not explain the last 30+ years of Near-Death research consisting of 65+ retrospective and prospective scientific studies in countries all over the world, published in legitimate scientific journals such as the Lancet.
Very interesting! My brother was practicing astral projection which I taught him how to do. He said he saw the same thing, a "giant vortex of eyeballs"! He waid they were slowly revolving around him.
I'm an open minded skeptic and I love Leslie Kean's way of explaining everything. However, the physical mediumship thing with Stewart Alexander is really really really hard to wrap your head around it or even accept it. Whenever you research for physical mediumship, I'd say any hit on google comes right away with the word hoax, debunked, etc.. In one interview he said:"well, I bet you might ask, why not just recording the sitting to prove the ectoplasm and the hand thing" and in Leslie Kean's own words, she replied "Well, Stewart Alexander doesn't want to reach the public attention and then scientist trying to prove his methods under controlled conditions" According to Leslie, that's the reason why filming is not allowed. It's a bit strange if you think about it. Physical mediumship has been doomed with fake mediums and debunked throughout history. And now finally you have a "legit physical medium" who could make up for all the false claims from history.... and there this humbled man goes and says "no recording allowed, because I don't want to reach the public attention". But at the same time Leslie says that Stewart Alexander's purpose of doing this is to "prove that death is not the end", it's so freaking contradictory....Also, that all of these "tricks" or "manifestations" need to be done in the dark... I mean really? I trust Leslie Kean however a scientific journalist being locked up in a small room in darkness with a self-claimed physical medium and then coming out and say "it's all real what I saw, believe me or don't"... that's a bit flaky. All we got is her word? The same word I get from a priest telling that he saw Jesus last night.
Then skip the physical mediumship stuff - like Leslie suggests at the beginning of the interview. I suggest going to the Near-Death scientific research which has been conducted now for the last 3 decades at least. Leslie mentioned Dr. Pim van Lommel's scientific work - he would be a great place to start with NDEs.
these strange accounts are of course interesting but also they never go anywhere or establish anything. What they seem to prove is that many people believe in more than a material reality BECAUSE they deeply miss dead loved ones. If they had no dead loved ones they would not occur to them to believe in more than a material reality.
It's interesting that people who are skeptical of NDEs always seem to assume the scientists who spent years of their lives - maybe their entire lives - studying this phenomena (which happens to quite an interesting percentage of people) - that it would never occur to these scientists that NDEs are just "wishful thinking" as you ascribe NDEs here. And these same scientists wouldn't have examined whether this might be true or not. In addition, we have scientists now speculating there could be an infinite number of realities - you know, Everett's open world's theory - which to the people who immediately dismiss NDEs - with an obviously shallow argument - will also at the same time, believe Everett's Open-World's theory with little or no skepticism at all. It's mind boggling to me the lack of objectivity and unexamined bias ...
I don't think you guys understand what a podcast is. This isn't a shitcom on TV. Why are you guys in a rush to end it? If you don't have time to make a good cast then just don't bother. Everything else was excellent but seriously you guys dedicated such a small portion of the ep to actually talk to the woman.
Indeed, a meaningful coincidence. The man is coming out of mourning, and in the first thing he does there is something that reflects and reinforces the very act.
Yes, the human brain seeks patterns - when it has blood pumping through it and oxygen. I think you missed the part where people have NDE experiences when the brain is not active (at all).
When I first studied NDEs, I only looked into "veridical" near death experiences. These cases are irrefutable. To verify that the brain is not responsible for consciousness, I experimented with astral projection. After many unsuccesssful attempts to astral travel, one morning I found myself awake outside in our yard. I noticed a large spider web with a huge yellow and black spider at its center that I had not noticed before. After several minutes I awoke in my bed. I then went to the window and saw the large spider web and the spider just as I witnessed it several monents before. There were several other verified things I saw that are further explained in one of my books. This happened to me 2 more times. My conclusion was that if I had consciousness outside my body, this added evidence that people experiencing consciousness during a NDE was real and not imagined.

She bring a lot of credibility to the UFO topic. I’ve learned a lot from her.
Absolutely loved this chat!!! Thank you for diving into this amazing topic!! So good. 😊🙏🏻❤️

Leslie seems very credible to me. 🤔 I’ve never heard mediumship explained this way.
I concur.

i wonder when we die if it will feel like jumping/falling. like jumping or falling out of our bodies into either something or nothing.
Starts c. 11:50 😉
What's quality like Leslie Kean doing with these clowns? 🤔 PS: "Ghostbusters" isn't a good start, guys...

I think podcasters who try to 'entertain' hurt the conversation overall.
The human brain seeks patterns. The clock was coincidence.
Indeed, a meaningful coincidence. The man is coming out of mourning, and in the first thing he does there is something that reflects and reinforces the very act.
The brain is just a mass of unfeeling neurons and electrochemical signals. It isn't "seeking" anything. That's ridiculous.
