Because everyone trying to bail out NYC from "Asylum Seekers"
LI has always had an issue with trying to make things more affordable. When these LI Karens hear the word "affordable" they automatically think "projects" so they block everything that would benefit single people or young families. That's what I hate most about living here second to the segregation which just equates to racism.
Oh please if the house prices didn't get you, the taxes will. I've been trying to leave for so long.

this should be unlawful. there should be a cap
Buy something that you could never pay for the only thing you pay is property tax every year that’s what you buy
Adapt and overcome. Simply put, just move out of New York. No, you really don’t need to live around the corner from your mother-in-law’s home, simply because it would be convenient for your wife. If you really want to live a normal life, move elsewhere where there is more opportunity. The United States is a big country, and contrary to what the liberal media would have you believe, the sun and planets don’t spin around Long Island, NY. Rs

not really smart people can simply just put their assets in a living trust and it avoice capital gains tax.

Well Their is lot of new homes on the pipeline but they wont hit the market until 2025/2026...im pretty sure they will be pretty high price also
not sure what the problem is...if you cant afford it, look somewhere else....
