Excellent footage,,,, gone through mental health issues back in 2020,, as I am a Veteran,,,, so trying to reach out and speak to somebody is very hard but I did it.... ah learned how too put issues away properly. So I think this walking football is very good to all who wants to take part. Cheers Dek Young
Another great upload Eddy I think at times we take things for granted when we should be more alert to what's going on around us what with mental health and all the other issues going on in these strange times all things said though good win for the Toon Eddy
Thanks from the bottom of me heart highlighting mental health Eddy, having suffered mesel yes talking and exercise is 100% the key to unlock the door, which when you are suffering, is firmly shut! Top video buddy👊😎
Wonderful video Eddy, an even better message highlighting mental health. A great way for people to get outside, with fresh air, exercise a-plenty and of course the social aspect side. Chris Hall who I follow on RUclips ( ultra endurance cyclist) recently completed an Everesting cycle challenge for mens mental health charity. The vlog mentioned that 90 men a day take their own lives. A terrible statistic. An initiative like this and others, can only serve communities well. Thanks for sharing Eddy 👏
It was a charity game Darren. The score is irrelevant and the aim was to raise money for the People’s kitchen. Nobody complained about the ‘rules’ other than those who don’t understand the wider picture
@@TynesideLife I'm not 50 (almost 40) but just not with the youngins anymore in full speed football, plus it takes ages to get fitness up, so walking/jogging footbal as a fun activity once a week could be a shout!
Most club Foundations run evening sessions. It might be an idea to contact the Foundation of Light, and find out if they run any walking football sessions in the Durham area. If not, they’ll likely to be able to offer some guidance.
@@TynesideLife the Newcastle Walking Football team.. do they regularly play at that site? I live locally and would like to support them.. I'm a woman, not fit enough to consider playing but would like to take my grandchildren to watch

I think the game hinges on the rule makers getting a clear definition of what 'walking' is. The goal at 5:30 looked like running to me

Was just looking for ones in Durham but they are during the day which is a shame. Hopefully more teams start up.
It’s great you’ve been inspired to join a club 👍🏻
