Such a beautiful video, Michael! I bet it brought out such wonderful memories for you. I found my inner child during these storms as well and although I’m a L.A. kid, I do remember it snowing in 1989 in Mar Vista. Not a whole lot but just a dusting of snow. I did go to Palos Verdes about 2 weeks ago to see snow since one of my friends lives up there. Very cool to see snow on the palm trees. :)

Yes, there was a light dusting of snow there. I actually took off work early that day to see it. It was weird to see snow on the cliffs there.
It actually went to hail in Culver City 😀. As a native Angeleno, I don't remember it snowing in LA 30 yrs ago, I just turned 41 and would typically remember it snowing. The only thing I remember about snow in LA is my dad telling me when I was 12 that the last time it snowed was when he was 9 in 1947.
It was wild, it went from blue skies to hailing in Long Beach, just a few miles from the ocean! The greenery we're getting looks fantastic although it'll dry out quickly in a few months and become that golden brown tinder
Also there were some crazy videos of places like Malibu Canyon having rock slides onto the road right after rains like this - scary stuff

Thanks, Michael. That was poetry. BTW, I was on the phone with my cousin in Crestline a few minutes ago (daily the last few days). They've been without electricity (poles are down) for three days. They have gas (for furnace and stove) and water. Their street was partially ploughed today, but the cars are still buried, one crushed under a fallen tree. The Blizzard of '23.
