Ever wanted to charge in with a squad inside enemy lines? - this is the game for you. It's more like XCOM: Casual. It's short and cute. Don't expect a long game, but at least it's good. It has some bugs, but you can get by them. Unless, you're the butt-hurt person that NEEDS perfection. This isn't XCOM 3 so don't expect something at a huge scale. My personal opinion: these agents are probably going to play a huge role in XCOM 3; we're just here to see their origins. Buy it now, while it's on sale - it's pretty cheap and the price is fair for what you get.
I just hope that this wasnt project they were doing since Xcom 2 rather small and fast project to see how people will react to some new mechanics, or maybe they are planing to use aliens as playable faction so they wanted to see how people will react to playing as both, as much as i have seen so far people liked the idea of playing aliens as much as humans so i guess that we might see two or more faction campaigns in Xcom 3 or atleast thats what i would like to see.
I know this is long after people's debates and such about the game but I'm just gonna put my two cents in for anyone checking it out after getting into XCOM, such as myself. Chimera Squad is an XCOM game mostly in name and should be treated as a spinoff to get in the right mindset. CS I think was the studio checking out another route in a small game that the Devs plainly had ideas and felt some passion in making. It scaled customization and strategy back to introduce unique ideas, albeit specific. Due to how this was done I believe it comes down to personal opinions whether or not people like this game, and considering the audience XCOM has made and the reputation it made I'll admit was strange and very different than what fans were expecting and excited for. With War of the Chosen having an extreme amount of customization to this, wasn't inherently bad but an extremely far cry from what the Fans they accumulated wanted. The reason I wanted to make this comment for those getting into it is because I have a unique view of this game compared to many fans that I can share for some insight people might value. I haven't spent as much time with XCOM and delved into its potential like many amazing fans out there and despite my love for XCOM it always felt devoid of things I love in certain games, which Chimera Squad actually did. This was plain in its preset characters. Most fans felt as though it was a step in the wrong direction and destroyed the potential customization the game held... which was mostly true. However that decision was made with the reward of an amount of Personality that I never found with XCOM. Its preset characters and how they are made with its decent writing made me feel stakes, not in terms of what I could lose but I actually got emotionally invested into the characters which was a big thing that I as a player really like in a game and was pleasantly surprised with in this game. Is it ground breaking? Absolutely not, they moreso dabbled in this idea than actually invested in it, but as a small game that the devs certainly had fun making, it was an interesting perspective an view on the XCOM series. My love of story and personality is very much excited and intrigued by what could happen if XCOM continued down this path (Though I'd imagine in smaller games like this one, XCOM 1/2 have and should be the strategical and creative forefront of the Devs focus.) but the idea of what an XCOM game with a personal touch is amazing. The fact that this game is good shows how much skill the Devs have at making almost two polar opposite games in idea but have them still be XCOM. Regardless this is an opinion I had and thought that it wouldn't hurt to share. I know I'm in the minority of thinking but I couldn't mind less at all, XCOM is still a wonderful game anyway. :D
It's Ok. My general dislike is there is really no strategy and no reason to use the choices. I can't remember a ton of tiny advantages of each agent and multiply it by their position in queue, etc, etc. At the end it's not even worth bothering to learn all that because you have no space, time or opportunity to use them. All we do is shoot and subdue. Beserk and stupor. The game pushes you very hard forward, making it not really a strategy game but a turn-based shooter. If you don't follow that push, then they will send 3 more enemies every other turn so you will be destroyed just under the endless pressure. So you have to rush. Well, then it's not a strategy game... The strategy ends up being "don't do basic mistakes". And new enemies always result in mission failures. But then you know who they are and win on reload. Too much info that we can't really use... Too limited by resources yet too many choices. What's the point of giving so many choices when I can't use them? All too feminized as usual... It's Ok for $10, but even then... It's not a strategy game, just shoot through at ~ B- score and you'll be fine.
That intro was far too long when you can only see one side of the screen 😂
I watch my vids on 2x speed and I still agree lmao.
@@gracefulcharity8412 I'd started typing the comment and finished and realised the intro was still going haha
Those first 40 seconds are a fantastic example of how not to edit.

It has some nice ideas and I like the cartoony style but got bored of it after about 5 hours.
So fan are gonna rage or gonna be glad.

I did not enjoy this game, it felt like drinking diluted whiskey. My biggest problems are with the turn system and cheap UI/UX design.
This game sucks
So you gave this bugged, dated mess 8 out of 10, and same for magnificent Gears Tactics?! Gaming Bolt, you sold out...
X-Com Hipster Squad looks like garbage to me. No atmosphere, no immersion. No sale.
@CYKA BLYAT95 Gears Of War Tactics looks better than this. Far more atmosphere and yes, they've got character customisation.
“Looks”
Never judge a book by its cover. It’s actually a lot of fun.
Yeah if your gonna judge a game by its looks your not gonna be enjoying games that being released in the future .
They are hipsters, except few of them like torque.
Worst xcom I hope it’s not canon I prefer a more serious tone this is just hipster Aliens
