    • @AbyssalSoda

I work in animation and VFX, and can say this opinion is the easiest to debunk when it comes to UFOs/UAPs because it relies on the assumption that our cameras are actually good and require no skill use, when the reality is even cameras costing $20,000 today would struggle to capture a UFO without preparation in advance. Though alleged sightings can last for hours across states, in most cases they last for a few short minutes from any given vantage point.
These objects are typically very bright, very fast, and very far away, rarely remaining stationary or on a consistent path like a traditional aircraft. When they do appear stationary, there's often no reference point for the camera to focus on, let alone stabilize, aside from a washed out black or blue sky. When photographing distant objects, the camera's ISO, focal length, and depth of field (DOF) come into play. A longer focal length can help zoom in on distant objects, but it also magnifies any camera shake and reduces the amount of light hitting the sensor, leading to darker, blurrier images typically seen in cell recordings. The depth of field also becomes shallower with longer focal lengths, making it harder to keep the entire object in focus to retain any semblance of sharp image quality. To counter this you can tweak the ISO to capture more light but this just introduces noise aka “pixelates” the image.
In my experience, even professional cameras with large sensors and high-quality lenses face these challenges. Capturing fast-moving objects requires very short exposure times to prevent motion blur, which in turn requires a lot of light (outside of the object itself). This is often impractical for objects that appear suddenly and disappear quickly. The technical limitations are not just about having expensive equipment but understanding and working within the constraints of what current technology can achieve. At the current rate I don’t think commercial or retail cameras will have the capability to capture these craft on a whim haphazardly until AI is integrated and sensors are improved, 2040 ish would be a good guess.
That said, some of the current clearest UFO footage includes the 2008 Kumburgaz UFO recordings, where a professor used a high-end telephoto lens to capture a UFO that returned to the same spot night after night and remained stationary for hours (an extreme rarity). Another example is the 2016 Beaver, Utah footage, shot by a B-Roll drone film crew. They didn't notice the object until reviewing the footage and promptly provided the RAW files to investigators to help calculate the object's speed relative to the drone.
As for why we don't have more close-up shots when crafts are reportedly directly in front of witnesses, I believe this is simply because people underestimate the power of these objects and haven’t bothered reading any purported encounters. Beyond tampering with electronics, common encounters suggest these crafts and their occupants can remotely influence physical systems. They can communicate telepathically, paralyze individuals at will, alter emotional states, force disarmament, and subtly push people away via the "Oz effect"-a phenomenon where individuals become dazed and behave paradoxically or opposite to what they themselves believe they would have/should have done. To put it simple I believe we still lack the technical capabilities to definitively capture or record these incidents.

An hour down the straight someone spotted something they thought was a dead swan hanging on one of the buoys, and they were 5 people looking at it, all swearing that it was a dead swan.
Next day when they were sailing out of there again and came to that place, they saw there were no swan, it was just their frost riddled, tired minds that had seen the crooked buoy as a dead swan.

How about all those early astronomers who looked through their telescopes and saw "canals" on Mars???
In a documentary (back in the 80s or 90s) I remember seeing a psychologist do an experiment on it once they took groups of high school arts class students and asked them to draw an object they had put at a distance beyond what most people could clearly distinguish details.
The object was simply a circle on a flat surface with some random blobs inside the circle. No matter how many times they did it the majority of people would include lines connecting the blobs. There is something weird about the human visual cortex that when it can't distinguish details on a distant object it will add details in an effort to recognise what it might be.
Psychologists have known about this stuff for decades.

Grusch testified underoath and requested a SCIF to turn over the evidence in.
Meaning if he's lying, he will be charged for lying under oath and he will be disgraced to all hell.
      This video was absolute crap.
Not saying aliens are real. But the need for an investigation and consistent protocol to investigate future claims is important to rule out "false positives" and prevent money and time wasting.
Why is the government wasting millions of our tax money setting up programs like AARO if these videos are easily debunked?

My theory about Grusch is that since he worked in uap program, the intelligence community would want to test their agent for liabilities. In program you want to cut bullshit from reality, you need people who has seen something and know how to describe it to make the program meaningful. So you take an agent and tell him a vast amount of bullshit that might trigger his curiosity, if he get to the press and tell all that bullshit back, you got the wrong agent for the job.

So the fact that there are highly secretive programs proves that his story of highly secretive programs is false. Wonderful logic. So this is broadly what people have been saying: There has been a shift in the attitude towards UFOs within US government agencies, and a recognition that the issue needs to be brought out into the open. However there are different competing agencies, and not all are in agreement, especially not the people who have committed crimes keeping these things secret. He said himself that many people from within government agenceis came to him with this information. So clearly they do want this to be made public, but it is being done slowly and there is not universal agreement. As far as I can tell this has been on ongoing thing since at least 2016. It's possible that there is a cult of crackpots who have infiltrated US government agencies, but the events dont contradict the former interpretation as far as I can tell.

You apparently don't comprehend how the recent whistleblower legislation functions or the fact that he hasn't actually released specific technical details which ARE classified. In fact, for some things, he's stated in interviews he can't speak openly about, due to them having direct naitonal security implications.
He can talk about these programmes existing, but not thigns like specifici sensory equipment, name colleagues, programme names, etcetera. He CAN do those thigns behind closed doors, however - which was how the Intelligence Communist Inspector General was able to verify them and the documetnation he provided.

I like that you used basically the same logic I thought of to explain why it's incredibly unlikely to have many alien ships crash into our planet. Aliens who are capable of hyperspace travel, and who taunt us by only appearing in terrible quality recordings, keep crashing into our planet. On top of that, all crashes are found by the military, who are able to cover it all up almost perfectly, with just a handfull of whistleblowers. That would be especially impressive when everyone is walking around with a pretty decent camera with internet connection. If I saw an alien ship crashing, I'm going to check it out and uploading pictures everywhere.
It's even more amazing that all of the world governments have managed to agree EXACTLY one thing, and that thing being that they cannot tell people about aliens. Especially when you consider how many governments have changed in the past few decades. I'd be more inclined to believe that EVERYTHING we "see" and "know" is a lie than that.
After all, anything can be a UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) if you are bad enough at identifying things. In fact, ironically enough, if you could prove it was an alien spacecraft, it wouldn't be a UFO anymore, because you would have identified it.
