Lots of Pros and Cons here !! I just installed the same hood deflector on my 4 Runner just to deflect stones and debris up away from the hood and mostly away from the windshield.I’m on the Highway frequently and don’t need chips Etc...One of my main concerns was that there was enough space between the hood and deflector when I wash the vehicle that I could clean the space between the two, most other deflectors lay right on the hood edge. There is a good amount of space, and I think the deflector looks good on my Silver 4 Runner and my deflector came right out of the box,no scuffs or scratches !!
Looks good. I bought the Toyota brand when I first got my 4runner. It isn't glossy anymore but it serves its purpose. I got this because I've learned my lesson with my Tacomas with cracked windshields. Granted it's not a 4runner but it's worth it for piece of mind.
Easiest install of bug/rock guard I've ever had. Just a few tiny scratches here and there. They could have fit 5 more of them in the giant box it was shipped in. They really need to put packing material in the box.

Purchased from AVS and received the item damaged. It's been two months dealing with support and still no ETA for replacement. Like many have stated, quality is definitely an issue, too bad I didn't listen to advice of others before I purchased.
The deflector that the dealer (Crestmont Toyota NJ) installed on my 19 Pro had TOYOTA embossed in it. It also had metal mounting clips that wrap around the front edge of the hood and subsequently, with wind vibration, started to dig into the paint! 😤 As with your Amazon AVS, I tried returning it three months later, and it was out of the return window (60 Days). And the dealer also didn’t want anything to do with repairing the paint damage that THEIR part, that THEY installed, did to my truck! TOYOTA “Customer Service” is a JOKE! @@andrewcrane3489 My dealer installed strips of clear film on the paint under the metal clips to help with this situation. I don't know how long it holds up before it abrades through to the paint. Now you've got me reconsidering getting one for my 4Runner... I had a deflector on my old vehicle and it (over several years)rubbed the paint through on a few places on the vehicle, even with the rubber stops on the hood. The retention clips also were falling off from sun rot when I sold the vehicle.. and lastly, there was a line on the paint where the color had faded less due to being covered by the deflector. Again, all over several years (likely close to 20, actually). But, the vehicle was stone chip free on the front of the hood! Now that I'm picking a few up on the 4Runner, I want to ask- do you think this particular brand stands much of a chance of rubbing through the paint in any spots over time? Would like to hear what you think there; because every time I find a new chip it stings a bit!
